  2. I understand that they need to do the occasional maintenance, patch new issues etc. What irritates me though is the fact every time they do long maintenance or patches, lag always ensues.

    I'd rather they put the whole system down for an entire day and perform comprehensive tests to ensure there won't be any extreme lag or crashes before rushing to bring the servers back online.

    Just watch... servers will come back. Bad lag, inability to log on or game crashes will occur. Then the servers will go down for another 1-3 hours as they perform 'emergency maintenance' to rectify instability issues.

    You don't need Acro for a PVE emp build. Slotting Blessing of the Zeypher in SS and Karma in Combat Jump or another Blessing in Hover/Fly/SJ etc is more than sufficient for the majority of the PVE content.

    Plus it's only a mag 2 hold resistance. In other words, you'll pretty much get held by any enemy that has a hold.

    I was asked to post this build too. This is the one I actually run on my SS Fire brute. The first 2 are variations of this one mainly because it has a Glad Armor Proc. To the casual player, this build isn't worth it. It's ridiculously expensive for small gains in recharge, hit points, defense and fire resistance.

    However, if you have the influence/infamy and want an absolute pimped build, this is it.

    2256 hit points, +80% recharge before hasten, 83.4% fire resistance, 46.3% smashing lethal defense and 34.7% defense Melee. I have nothing better to do with my influence.

    The above build is great for farming or PVE. Tactics really helps going against level 54s in the new trials.

    On the other hand, I agree with you 100% Solo. For strictly farming, the below build is a slight tweak which ditches Tactics for Temp Protection. I found I didn't need it though at 75% fire resist with the high recharge (bringing up healing flames frequently) and soft capped S&L. However, here's an updated build.

    Soundwave had asked for a build for over 8 hours and nobody gave him one.

  16. You can ditch the End Mod IO in Adrenaline Boost and put that slot elsewhere (maybe dominate for more damage). Adrenaline Boost has a ridiculous amount of end recov so adding the extra end mod slot is wasted.

  18. I was the only Empathy AT pretty often on numerous runs. I try to keep heals up on all 24 but players that are dying constantly from poor play eventually get ignored on heal other/absorb pain. I know it sounds harsh but everybody is constantly needing heals and frankly, I cant waste the time on somebody that has a poor build or haven't altered their play style to avoid stupid deaths.

    It's a major chore but I like the challenge! Fortunately, I've been running with the same group fairly often. Most have been really good and makes being the only Emp much easier.

    Deaths will still occur. It's almost impossible to prevent that but as long as the trials are successful, I won't complain :P

  22. What are you trying to achieve with the build? It neither focuses on defense or recharge.

    What is your budget for the build?
  23. A long time ago, I was debating what direction I wanted to go with my SS/Fire. I tinkered around with getting it to 45% SL defense too but imho, you sacrifice way too much.

    4 slotting Haymaker, KO Blow, taking stealth etc isn't worth it on a /Fire. Even with Rage and Tactics, I find that I miss way too much. The ACC from Kin Combat sets are terrible.

    I ended up with roughly 38% SL defense and constantly over softcap anyway on teams with everybody running Maneuvers or getting other buffs. Furthermore, I took the Fire Epic from hero side. Adding Fire Blast and Fire Ball to the attack chain is just down right nasty.

    Lastly, you're going to want Cardiac for your incarnate. Without Cardiac, you will be sucking for end due to the high global recharge. Footstomp, Blazing Aura, KO Blow, all the toggles etc etc.

    I've been playing an SS Fire for over 4 years now and it's an end heavy toon no matter how much money you dump into it. Cardiac is a godsend.
