Un mexicana con pinsas es un menaza.
Please, for the love of hardware everywhere use a wrench. -
That wasn't a flame war in the least. At least none of what I said in this thread should be taken as an attack on anyone and I don't think Pum or Cai meant anything that way either, at least towards people in this thread.
(Someone is welcome to make the THIS is a flame war link). -
I'm reminded of the stories from yore about how some parents would jab their lefty offspring in the left hand with a fork everytime they tried to use it to eat.

HVAS r beest.
Each one is worth several shivans. -

Although there are 'get off my lawn' type elements within the game -

Beat the streets, ask even places that aren't looking, i.e. have a poster in the window if they have temp stuff. There is work out there, finding it is just more work and proving yourself than it was a few years ago.

Heh, lucas.
Be out of town a lot this weekend, but I'd stick my head in if I saw an organized attempt going, have w/e. Dont think my cold def has the badge yet. -

That is the crux of the problem...the rewards for the activity are ultimately self defeating. In other words, never look a merit horse in the mouth. As for i9, I had specifically cautioned that merits would pretty much create a merit bonanza for some people and increase the gap between the have and have-nots, as opposed to narrowing the gap.
There isn't really a point to building an uber l33t toon to do most activities. It's sort of the reason why emps are considered unnecessary...what's the point to bringing a healer to def-capped, health-capped super powered teams? In essence, you could solo everything so a team is unnecessary, so is there a point to the massively-multiplayered part of a RPG?
The rewards simply feed the cycle even more since they're not simply shinies. They keep making your toon(s) more uber and actually make an easy game even easier. Taking challenge out of the game isn't necessarily going to make it more fun, although in the beginning it sure seems great. I guess I'd rather be Batman than Superman.
I suppose the entire reward system needs to be refigured, although doing it at this point would be like trying to refit a leaky submarine whilst out at sea. If the rewards didn't feed into the functional performance of a toon so cheaply and quickly the game would probably have fewer problems like the power and influence inflation that we see today.Quote:Maybe it just boils down to playing too much and the game at heart being one, or at least starting out as, a game for casual players. -
By level 10 most of, if not all of, beginners luck is gone. You will be missing more there than at level 1 unless you have slotted a ton of TO's in your attacks.

I hate every second of the getting knocked down part. 10 mill and 2 KB IO's will fix most of it.

Its useful if you are standing in melee range with an opponent, which is to say its not real useful unless you are adding a bunch of your own rules to pvp, i.e. no moving.
It can be useful in an mm pile, though. -
Imps on a dom are pretty squishy.
Fleas don't moo. -
Not all of us have a million merits from being able to basically do TF's all day everyday and are happy with SO's.
That said, i9 l00tz did change the game, and there really isn't any sort of challenge left in the game. Those two things are basically a fork in the game. The royal 'we' can do moSTF in 50 minutes with a success rate over 70% probably, CoP in probably 8 minutes consistently and Hamidon in 15 minutes or less with minimal temp power use.
Those are probably the 'challenge' items of the game for teams, the ones that give reward keep getting done.
The challenge falls to the wayside, you beat it a couple times, what is the point of going back repeatedly if you arent getting rewarded?
I like a good challenge, I've solo'd the vast majority of all the team content out now for the challenge. What is the point in doing it repeatedly though?

Supernatural. Castle.

Quote:There isn't much use for EoE on the CoP, if that is what you are saying.
I'm wondering if this might be due the current popularity of CoP atm. It seems that folks remember the GMs in the Hive and forget they can get them (without) spawning Hami if they do it in PI. -
20 target cap. Pets count towards.
Like I said before, the only trick to it is to make sure you are buffed and EoE'd before summoning pets and nuking, as assuming there are enough to actually pull it off, hamidon will go down at a rate which makes further organized actions difficult.
Hery led several 'no round' and 1 round raids which were a success this way. -
Less sidelines, more at home screaming at the tv.
