(And I thought my day had already been made...
This is too funny.) -
One observation: I do believe Shinx is the name of a fourth-generation Electric type Pokemon.
-
Let's try putting it this way: current "human" MM pets currently have a set body type (male) and proportions, as well as a set costume that never changes (nevermind the power that slightly alters the model's look, but even the changes are static).
A theoretical duplication mastermind would assumedly (given the long way around) have to be coded to recognize all three body types, custom proportions, as well as every single costume part available to players. Then, multiply all these by six (for added fun, try adding a [Gang War] variant power to the set!).
If I can find a dev comment somewhere... -
This is one of the powersets I'd like to see, personally, but I really doubt that its going to happen any time soon: mainly because of the issue we have of (lack of) pet customization. Pet archetypes are demanding on server space as it is (hence the reason why MMs and CONs are gated), so having copies of the player character as pets for ths kind of power would be even more demanding.
However, I do like the mention of doppelganger tech. -
I'm usually toggled off at the end of my play sessions because of RP and activating [Walk] during my cool-off periods, but this is indeed handy.

Eh, it's a double post. But I'm curious to see who's on the drawing block this week!
*looks over IBA's shoulder* -
I coulda swore I posted some kind of congrats on somewhere... then I realized it was probably dA. At any rate, I'll give you a nice warm congratulations here as well. Great to hear this kind of story every once in a while.

Interesting stuff as usual. Looking forward to the next one!

As a participant, I like to say that Golden/Silver Age contests usually bring out the best of costumes and tonight wasn't any exception. Feel kind of bad to put you through all that stress ;p

Ah, let's drop an entry into the hat, shall we? I'm quite familiar with "request to lose" style art: an SG friend sometimes does art lotteries with this sort of theme involved.
Here's Gumption, a private detective who works out of Steel Canyon. He sports a cowboy's attitude and a strange mutation that causes his skin to become a sticky gum when exposed to water or other liquids. -
With my previous post on page one stated, I forgot to mention one badge title I (and several others I know) have RPed out: getting the Hero of the City badge.
That's the only real exception. -
I do like picking badge titles to display for my characters that are at least somewhat flavorful and appropriate, but it's not an end all for my RP... especially for certain characters I've made pre-i21 that have gone through Praetoria OOCly.
(OK, it slightly bothers me on one character, since I play him often, but not usually.) -
Ah, yes. I forgot the Incarnate factor.
Admittedly, at this point, that's one thing I've been somewhat ignoring for both my current Level 50 characters. One might actually progress down that path officially later, but the other one (despite the fact I do have his rare Alpha and only that) isn't meant to be anywhere near god-like. -
I work with the game to a point, but there have been concepts that I haven't made because there's something glaring that doesn't mesh mechanically with my thoughts of how the character should be.
In terms of story/background: at the very least most of my characters live / work(ed) / (sometimes) were born in Paragon City. Many also happen to have flavorful details involving minor aspects of the game world that define that particular character, but I do not consider it a priority.
I have a young hero that survived the Galaxy City disaster.
I have a man, a Steel Canyon resident, transformed into an elemental by an infernal creature summoned by the Hellions.
I have a mechanic with a tire-like body who not only co-owns a repair shop in Atlas Park with his retired hero father, but who also had to move across town when his original place of work got rezoned into a residential district (overnight, might I add... the magic of game patches).
On the other hand, I have a kid that turns into a dragon that often interacts with other dragon characters that decidedly clash with his "superheroic" theme at times.
I also have a winged man that I still need to develop, but he was born into a secret cult of sorts that isn't related to anything the game has to offer, coming to Paragon City after a long soul-searching journey.
I haven't yet made any sort of story related to Crey and their illegal experimentation tendencies.
I could go on. -
(Hey, if anything can we at least say "welcome back to the game"? :P)
-
Disappointing, to be sure. I'm hoping that eventually there'll be a breakthrough in this issue soon considering that the system has been... well, broken... ever since the relaunch in September.
-
Unfortunately, WAI. The developers can't fix this game that I like to call... "Life".
That said, I wish I had more time to play some of my concepts as well. -
vQuote:At least it's 10% more of a gain to me than trying to stumble through an iTrial while disconnecting a bucket load of times.Compared to soloing an unenhanced blaster through incarnate class critters, a 10% increase actually seems small to me.
So apparently, my list is to 1) get enhancements and 2) get a better computer... but I digress. -

Quote:Oh hey, I remember that!(snip)
...
The iXP and thread drop rate I find to be not bad, especially while teaming. I was running my controller last night through some missions with a friend's blaster. My controller was all kitted out with all her Incarnate powers at Rare or Very Rare, while my friend didn't even have his common Alpha slotted yet (and I think he's using SOs). His connection and computer aren't really sturdy enough for trialing. Running two or three missions last night at +3/x4, he was able to get about 4 or 5% progress on his Judgement and Interface slots.
Yeah, it takes longer, especially if you don't team and can't solo as well, and I figure there will be some tweaking, but it's not bad.
I already had completed two entire arcs and was sitting on the last of the third when this happened: so I already had two components needed to make a common Alpha (I originally wanted the resistance one but that's near useless on a blaster had has all of three defense toggles, went Musculature instead) and about 11% progress on Interface and Judgement.
For the record, though, my blaster has no enhancements in him at all, not even SOs. I never got into managing that side of character development in my two years of playing the game, and while I do eventually want to get him and the rest of my characters enhanced... eh. And this is coming from someone who plays singleplayer RPGs that have some sort of micromanagement involved.
So, I fully expect it to be hard going solo in DA for my blaster, especially since he's the one that I want to have some sort of reason for those endgame powers (no, I'm not playing him as a strict "incarnate" in the game's sense at this point). I needed help with all but one with the EB bosses so far (Black Scorpion, second attempt: 10 reds, 10 purples... probably was a fluke).
Anyway, that team. I came out three missions later (Rev had to break at that point) with a ~10% gain in both running iEXP gagues and another component (since we went through an arc-ending mission and it was my second time through). A much better progress in that short amount of time compared to soloing in DA for a week.
I personally like the zone even if the content is hard and the design creeps me out sometimes. I think it was a good job. -
I want to be able to support the development of this game, so paying for those "extras" is a good tradeoff-- especially because I can pick and choose the things that appeal to me, and hopefully my contribution will go to something that will further keep my interest.
-
Ascendant is most definitely still around. I shoot him a tell every once in a while. I think one of his alts placed in a dev-contest recently, too.
-
There's an SG mate of mine that's been off of the game since last year that I hope will be able to return soon.
