Let Alt Model MM Customization ring from the curvaceous horned slopes of Cap Au Diable!

But not only that; let Alt Model MM Customization ring from the tall mountain of the Hive!

now. how to work around mastermind customization perhaps, and to give players a cloning/duplication powerset by making use of the doppelganger tech, i present to you:

"DUPLICATION" - a primary powerset for Masterminds

I see a Duplication powerset for MM's as still potentially viable. Pets summoned would all have duplicate costumes to the player character but with varying auras from the upgrades i suppose.... OR because players have multiple potential costumes with up to ten slots, the minions could simply reflect randomly the various costume slots of the character by summoning a clone with a model randomly chosen from the available slots. OMG TOTAL WIN because this gives you 'pet customization' while still reflecting the doppelganger tech in game already that summons a identical character. though, it might make more sense if the code is written so that it summons identical to your current costume in which case players might have to summon first pets, costume change, summon other pets, costume change, summon final pet.


attacks for the power would be the most complicated part. i'd say that if it was a dimensional/parallel universe themed attack set where you pull yourself from other dimensions/parallel universes or points in time, a teleportation variation of attacks would make sense. also give all the pets the same teleport attack powers, basic brawl and kick attacks, or a unique buff/debuff power and it can still flow pretty well with most themes and secondaries. Or the "you"s from different dimensions can have powers based on those dimensions added to the basic powers of the set. netherworld dimension, fiery dimension, star/celestial dimension, frost dimension, night ward dimension, rularru dimension... idk other dimensional versions of you O_o

powerset: teleport or 'dimensional' attacks

-attack - ranged teleport single target attack [briefly tp and hit then return to where you were]
-base clones - basic clone no aura, meelee brawling attacks and one tp power
-attack - pbaoe attack? or another single targeted attack where you "scatter your enemy across several planes/dimensions" using dimension shift costume change animation
-upgrade
-attack - teleport cone attack like judgement power
-medium clones - basic clone maybe head or chest aura, multiple tp attacks with brawl powers, perhaps one heals or buffs
-special -taoe or pbaoe buff or wave of clones like gang war.
-master clone - body aura, advanced teleportation attacks and abilities.
-upgrade

:shrug:

i'd rock that powerset.






note: im no coder so i dont know how difficult this might actually be, but it doesnt seem too hard to me

This is one of the powersets I'd like to see, personally, but I really doubt that its going to happen any time soon: mainly because of the issue we have of (lack of) pet customization. Pet archetypes are demanding on server space as it is (hence the reason why MMs and CONs are gated), so having copies of the player character as pets for ths kind of power would be even more demanding.

However, I do like the mention of doppelganger tech.

I'd still prefer Phantoms in the Illusion Control set were given the choice of being our dopplegangers.

On the other hand, I strongly support Mastermind customization. I've been dying to turn my Thugs into Family since I first made them years ago!

:shrug: oh i didnt know that would be more demanding. i thought that by using the doppelganger tech it would allow for the pets to simply load the same costumes as the player character which would be a round about way to customize pets without the server having to save and load six-to-eighteen[if you include upgrades, more for alt models like with thugs for example] more pet models, AND it would roundabout allow pet customization simply by your own costume slots and character customization, not by actually customizing the 'pets' [as in all other mm sets are not affected and would not need any UI work or extra coding for the AT], not actually outright pet customization because i know that's difficult and they're trying to figure out still O_O.

:shrug again: but idk how the doppelganger tech actually works, and my suggestion suggests using the doppelganger tech for a simply cosmetic duplication, not powers and buffs and junk, the pets would be basically other MM pets with an auto transform power using the dop'tech.

Let's try putting it this way: current "human" MM pets currently have a set body type (male) and proportions, as well as a set costume that never changes (nevermind the power that slightly alters the model's look, but even the changes are static).

A theoretical duplication mastermind would assumedly (given the long way around) have to be coded to recognize all three body types, custom proportions, as well as every single costume part available to players. Then, multiply all these by six (for added fun, try adding a [Gang War] variant power to the set!).

If I can find a dev comment somewhere...

Then they could use other models that are already in game to sub for those we have like clock work for robots and so on

i figure alt models are the best way to give playes MM customization, and using the in game villain group models makes the most sense.

badge unlocks make sense too, for the various groups alt models.

hence my little speech
