1. Ok i'm looking to do a respec for my blaster. Haven't done one yet so happy to do the 1st or the 2nd.

thinking of a kickoff time of about 8.30 - 9.00

if anyone is interested please post a reply here or send me a PM
2. <pokes head into thread and says Hi!>

speaking as a Rad/rad corrupter <boo hiss, evil person etc>

I can tell you that the best place for a rad/rad to be is right in the thick of the mobs, getting the best out of choking cloud and keeping the rad infeected mobs close together and held as much as possible

oh and one suggestion on the build doulos, sacrifice some slots in cosmic burst for disorient duration enhances, makes this power a real winner, i use it to keep lt's perma disoriented until i can take them down
3. [ QUOTE ]
A great deal of noise scattering grease everywhere then slipping up?

[/ QUOTE ]

what the!... have you been stalking me

The other analogy of course is surgical precision, 18th century to be precise lots of screaming and a bucket of hot pitch on standby
4. Well again not sure of the numbers but scourge seems to kick in when a mobs health drops below a certain percentage and if i recall the % chance for scourge depends on the base damage of the attach. i.e. your more likely to get a scourge with a low powered attack (i'm sure i read this somewhere but for the life of me i can't recall)

In my opinion scourge is quite useful and certainly a whole world ahead of defiance. i find it is particularly useful for Lt's and bosses as obviously they have greter HP than a minion.
5. Well thanks for the offer folks,

i think i can say for definite i will be up for doing this again some time in the next few weeks, once i've finished beating my ISP with an ethernet cable of course
6. Congratulations folks, that must have been some battle i missed.

Unfortunately my ISP decided to switch something fairly vital off and i only just got my net connection back right this minute

Hopefully get a chance to actually finish that at some point
7. [ QUOTE ]
Did you bother with Electron Haze?

[/ QUOTE ]

yes, i took electron haze as it's the only AOE you can get till lvl 28, mind you i'm not a hundred percent convinced it's a good power, the knockback can be handy for keeping mobs of their feet but it's a pain if it knocks too many out of the radiation infection. i may well move away from this in the future
8. Well i took the cowards way out and took stamina on my rad/ rad (i really would rather not have done to be honest) and at the minute it's proving really useful, allows me to fling attacks, heals and Rad infection etc around without issue. hopefully though once i get the inf and the slots i can respec out of it at a later date as i wan't more of the powers from this set
9. well a good team is always a bonus, i usually team with members of my SG or coalition so we know each others play style well (and we tend to go through missions like a chainsaw through butter ) although we did the same AV mission twice last night with wildly differing results, first time through slowly cleared the room then dropped Rad Infection on the AV and hammered away with barely any drop in health form the team. The second time did not go as well. unfortunatley an MM's pet aggroed the AV and she stomped us all flat before i could do anything.

But i wouldn't say solo is slow for a rad/rad i find it a hell of a lot more fluid and quick than my blaster in coh.

Aim + proton volley followed up by xray eyes will drop one mob. lob rad infection onto another and then pile in. Cosmic burst (slotted for disorient duration is a life saver as i can use it to basically knock one mob out of contention (they never get a chance for an attack as i can fire it off again before the stun wears off )
10. Well my rad/rad corrupter is now up to lvl 24 and i'm loving it so far.

the basic attacks aren't the most damaging but recharge quickly and use low end, couple that with a couple of secondary effects in some attacks (knockback from electron haze and disorient from cosmic blaze) as well as all attacks having a def debuff and your on a winner.

the secondaries give you some nice options, acc debuff, res debuffs, slows and choking cloud. although the secondaries tend to drain end.

to me so far it seems very good for pve and my limited experience with pvp looks good as well. toggle drops from disorient to take down tankers, radiation infection on a controller stops him spamming holds, all in all very fun
11. I have to say i'm loving my rad/rad at the moment,

i've taken most of the primaries and less in the secondaries only rad infection, accelerated metabolism and the heal so far. However i've made sure i concentrate on slotting my secondaries first.

basically at the moment almost nothing can hit me, i get boosted end recovery and damage and if any hits do get through i can heal.

12. Pyrotorch

Fire/Rad advice

Rad infection is definitely a must

3 slot for acc debuff and smack it down on a mob then laugh as they fail to hit anything

or better yet, wonder into a PVP zone hit a controller with it and watch as he fails to do anything
13. quick word of warning guys, did this strike force last night and it is currently bugged so no badge

oh and when you get to the AV pull him back from where he appears for reasons that will become obvious
14. wow, this is fantastic stuff!

just what i need to distract me from UK financial regulations
15. Well,

I'm quite happy to Dust pyrotorch off (curse you COV for distracting me) and come along for this one.
16. Having read your stories Doulos i take that a as huge compliment

hopefully there will be more to come (unless the evil oppressors make me do some work instead)
17. Okay this is my first attempt at any sort of creative writing, so please be gentle

any comments or suggestions are welcomed, either add them to this thread or feel free to send me a PM. Now without further ado i present Pyrotorch the beginning .

---------------------------------------------

Rain lashed down onto the roof of the sisters of mercy orphanage and poured in torrents from the mouths of the gargoyles. For a brief moment a huge surge of blue light illuminated the alleyway to the side of the building and then slowly a robed figure emerged and placed a small bundle on the steps of the orphanage, a few seconds later and another flash once more brought light to the alley before darkness and silence resumed.

From the bundle on the doorstep a faint gurgling noise could be heard and although the rain fell in torrents no moisture seemed to reach the basket.

As the sun rose across the city sister Mary opened the doors of the orphanage and looked down on the basket, with a look of sorrow on her face sister Mary retrieved the child left on the doorstep and with a world weary sigh once more pondered the cruelty of a world that could abandon a child in such circumstances.

Walking back into the orphanage the sister could not help but notice the warmth emanating from the basket; placing the bundle on a table she pulled back the blankets to look at the latest soul to pass into her care…

Father Nolan sat in his office in silent contemplation when the air was rent with a sudden scream from the main hall. Rushing from his room he found sister Mary collapsed on the floor in a dead faint. Kneeling at her side the father looked on as Mary roused in consciousness. "What on earth is wrong sister?"

"The devil walks among us father!" Mary said in a hoarse whisper.
"Come now child, surely this cannot be true"
"Look, look there in the basket" Mary exclaimed before once more lapsing into unconsciousness.

After summoning help to take sister Mary to her rooms, the priest bent down to look at the child that had caused such a reaction from sister Mary. Pulling away the blankets the father looked down on the child "Holy Mary mother of God!" exclaimed the priest taking a step away from the child. The child lay in the basket gurgling and cooing as may be expected of any infant, however it was at this point that the similarities ended. The child's skin was a deep red and his hands were atrophied and appeared almost as claws. But this deformity whilst extreme was not what caused the father's reaction; rather it was the child's face.

The child's face shared the same deep red colour as the rest of his body, however rather than skin the face seemed to be covered in a hard craggy rock like substance that reminded the Father of his university days studying erupted volcanoes and the cooling magma flows, between the rock like sections veins of what he could only be described as a substance resembling liquid magma could be seen.

Placing the infant in a cot the father retired to his study to ponder the strange child that had arrived on his doorstep.

Some days past during which Father Nolan was engrossed in deep meditation as to the origins of the child and what should be done for the best.

The sisters all hurried down to the main auditorium to hear what the Father had to say, speculation and rumour had been rife in the preceding days and the nuns were all eager to learn about the strange infant that had come amongst them and what decision the father had reached.

Father Nolan stood before the sisters of the order looking on the faces who had throughout his time in the orphanage cared for their charges with such dedication. "Sisters, I know that you have all heard rumours about the child that came into our care in recent days. I wish to tell you all today that although this child does indeed suffer from curious and unexplained deformities, I have no doubt that the child is nothing other than a human infant and not some hell spawn as I have heard some of you saying. We all hear in this room have taken holy orders and an oath to care for and raise those children that pass into our care in the sight of our Lord and so I ask that we continue with this good work and raise this boy as we have all others that have passed through our doors. We must treat this child with the dignity that all souls on this earth deserve and I am confident that you the good sisters of this order will fulfil your duties with your usual compassion."

Some fifteen years later Father Nolan sat once more in his office and studied the notes before him. Joseph (as they had chosen to name the strange child) had grown into a fine boy despite the handicaps placed on him. He excelled in his studies and showed an amazing aptitude for science, indeed the notes from father Doolan the orphanages science teacher showed that Joseph's passion in this area had already outstripped his knowledge and that Joseph was hungry to move on and pursue his studies further.

However reading between the lines Father Nolan could see that all was not well with young Joseph, whilst he was without doubt a prodigious scholar he was an extremely insular child and chose not to mix with other children. Although this was perhaps to be expected, in light of his appearance the extent to which Joseph kept himself isolated caused deep concern for the aged priest.

Lost in silent reflection the Father heard the sounds of raised voices coming from the playground. Parting the blinds Father Nolan looked out to see a large group of children circled closely around Joseph jeering and screaming abuse. Hurrying from his room the father raced down to the playground to stop this persecution. Running towards the mob the father heard an anguished almost unearthly scream and then suddenly everything went white.

Particles of ash danced in the air and settled onto the cracked and destroyed earth that was all that remained of the orphanage playground. Nothing remained to show that any building had once been here other than a few heaps of stone warped and cracked as if exposed to intense heat. No living thing stirred in the area as the sounds of wailing sirens grew closer. From a crater in the ground faint movements could be seen and the youth known here as Joseph uncurled from the a foetal position he had assumed as the boys had started to attack him. Joseph looked in horror and disbelief at the devastation around him. Suddenly the sirens abruptly cut off as the first emergency services vehicles arrived amid the devastation.

Officer Jones stepped out of the patrol car and looked in shock at the scene that greeted his eyes, for all his time in the city the ancient gothic façade of the orphanage had been visible and now only twisted rubble remained. Futilely looking around for any sign of life he heard a clattering off to his left. Looking around he saw a strange figure covered in ash and soot running off at enormous speed. "Stop" he shouted but almost as soon as the word had left his mouth the figure vanished into the woodland behind the ruins and was lost from sight. Not wishing to give chase for fear of what he had seen Officer Jones returned to his patrol car to radio for assistance, "heaven alone knows what good it will do" he mused "there nothing left her to save"

Joseph ran on at enormous speed tears streaming down his face screaming into the sky "what have I done….. What am I?"
18. Yeah i'm loving my Rad/Rad up to now

all the fun of a blaster but with heals and debuffs to keep me alive

Soling i tend to open up woth proton volley to snipe and then if it's a large group switch targets and lay down radiation infection. Then i can run around laughing as the mobs fail to hit anything and pick them off one by one
19. Hmm

can't say i've noticed this, never really had a problem with the range of my attacks though.

Blazing bolt seems to be fine as long as i'm not up against Crey or Nemesis snipers.
20. Oh i loved that mish, so evil! Muhahaha etc

Current personal favourite for me is one of the Russian doctor in Cap au Diable missions (i forget his name)
Travelling to Paragon city to rescue some innocents from being kidnapped by the kulls and then turning them over to the Vahz, and all just to make Doctor V's life difficult so he can't make a trip to the rogue isles. the reaction of the kidnap victims as you drop them out of the frying pan and into the fire brings an evil glow to my heart
21. Cracking idea this, consider me volunteered.

Lvl 41 Fire/Devices/Fire Blaster

Good mix of AOE, single target and useful non damaged based powers

Happy to help with pretty much anything if you ask nicely

fire-huge AoE, cone and single target damage, no control, dies good

[/ QUOTE ]

oi! i'll have you know i don't die that much

unless i'm fighting malta or Knives of Artemis, in which case, fair point
23. Reporting back after the first night in the field.

and all ican say is

Did some missions teamed with the SG, against 42 and 43's. this was a bit of a struggle with a few plants but to be fair no worse than usual.

Set up a nice trap at one point, large field of mines and trops, pulled a group of Crey onto it and they were flying everywhere

Soloing is more tactical than before due to the lighter damage and the reduction in accuracy (which is a sklight concern as my slotting on TD hasn't changed)

End usage is higher than previous, but this just means that a tray of inspirations is needed rather than before when i used to hardly touch them.

So all in all this seems to be a bit of a winner, certainly made the game much more interesting and tactical.

think I saw you in IP last night...
