If you want to meet up at the SF contact (far east of Cap Au Diablo halfway-down the map) just before 9pm and we can get teamed.
Obviously if we get quite a few people we can split into more than one team, and try and balance the teams.

Quick newbie question.
Strike forces, how do you get them? Do thy find you in due time or is there a contact I need to approach? I seem to be having diffculty in locating any information other than the very basic stuff, hopefully you guys can help

You need to be the correct level range or higher, and have a certain number of team members to start it.
You actually have to approach the Strike Force contact to start it... so I take it quite a few new players would have no knowledge of them) unless they were told by someone or read the help menu).
So far it's:

Hi Davidian would love to do this im only lv14 at mo but with some hard core gaming b4 6pm sunday i should make it to lv18 easy. Keep me on the back up list just incase i dontmake it

It's nice to see a nice number of Masterminds to provide cannon fodder so I don't have to scrap ( even though I can ) and with Alathar's dark debuffs and hopefully some nice holds we should be cruising.
I know myself and Alathar can take out an Elite Boss in pretty short order so as a team we should be okay. I'm not sure how to deal with AVs though. I suspect running away to rehide lots will be important.
I suspect I should try to get up to level 19 if possible before the strike force, I don't think that should be too hard.

I think the thing with taking on AVs is for every MM to use the 'go to' command to spread their pets out, so theres no chance of them all gettting killed by a nasty AOE attack.

However any AV we meet will not be as nasty as the level 40+ AVs. It will be more like Dr V or the ( non-Psychic ) clockwork king.
If I remember correctly the Clockwork King on the Synapse TF was mostly taken out by an Inv tank ( the now retired Gargantuman IIRC ), my blaster Cryostrike, and someone else, probably a controller, with the other members of the 8 man team appearing halfway through the combat.
So the AV may not have a nasty AoE.
Personally I was burbling about the tactics a stalker should use against an AV. I was thinking AS and then placate to avoid the unavoidable aggro.

Anyone want to try the first Strike Force (COV equivalent of a TF)?
Strike Force is levels 15-20 but if anyone higher would like to join they'll be auto-lackeyed. Preferrably 18-20 as the mobs will be 20-23.
Warning... please only join if you have several hours to spare. We can stop for quick breaks, but I'd prefer not to have half the team leaving after an hour, giving us little chance of finishing the SF.
P.S. I don't want to spoil the content of the SF but I'm pretty sure it involves an Elite Boss and AV (one of the heroes from COH).
