If you're referring to the Telepads used to teleport your toons to the zone of your choice, they are crafted off the Tier 1 workbench and then placed from your "Personal Items" when editing.
-
I've yet to run into anything like that with all the slow fields I've used in my bases. Perhaps its something similar to some of the other defensive items that have "animations". After a period of time (or after power is turned off for a time) some of the animations will stop working until you pick up the items and place them again. Don't delete them. Just select them in edit mode, maybe rotate a turn or two and place back again. Can't say for certain that it works, but its worth a try I suppose.

And the saga of Captain Outhouse continues, lol. Hilarious video once again MM

Quote:That would explain it, heh. He's got his album passworded, so we can't view the rest of the images without specific URLs, basically.
@Caleb
You might want to arrange your images into an album so we can see all your base pics (or at least the ones you'd like us to see). A slide show would also work out quite well. -
Very nice Turbo! That's the best idea I've seen yet for a space station feel.

You may want to set your link to show more than just a bare room with some stairs, hehe. Unless spartan base designs are your specialty?

I don't mind doing base editing for others if needed. For Inf or free, its no big deal. I just get a kick out of the end results, heh. The links below is some of the work I've done on my Villain and Hero bases (Guardian) over the last 7-8 months. Both are works in progress with room on both plots, but most of the images are of complete or near-complete rooms.

Lol MM! That was priceless. I'm going to have to start forwarding that to the AE babies I run into. Maybe it will help them see the error of their ways, hehe.

Quote:Unless AE is a transdimensional corperation, they probably won't be there
Although, if there's going to be a new starting area, and maybe even a third neutral faction, then they'd need some way to access player created content too...
In that case, I would want to see AE terminals (albeit scaled down versions) added to base items. Or add the functionality of the AE to the now horribly unused Mission Computer item. That would be quite appropriate actually, since the item is already known as the Mission Computer, heh. -

'Course not Cronic. If they changed, it wouldn't be the Guardian PvP we all know and love *snicker*
By the way, have you moved your PvP toons off Guardian to your new home? Because I still want to try that duel sometime, hehe. -

....you think the only way to get loot is by trading in AE tickets.
....you're level 50 and don't know how to leave Mercy Island.
....the only mobs you know are Hamidon Mitos.
It's sad that I've run into so many of the posts in this thread. I can't say AE has completely ruined CoH, but it sure as hell has destroyed the learning curve for noobs. -
Hey Kool, you can add my global to the sub pool. I may be filling an empty spot on Sunday so figured I should officially let you know, heh.

Welcome back Moi. As promised the lights were left on for ya, heh

Quote:Base Raiding (and the restrictions on base building due to raid pathing issues) was removed in Issue 13, IIRC.
That was a part of the PvP revamp that is on-going. It will likely be back sooner or later, but the Devs have not given details as to when that might be.
So it seems that there may be a future use for defensive items.
As I recall base raids were removed sometime before Issue 13. I don't recall them being available the entire time I've played (going on 16 months). I could be mistaken of course, as base raiding was never high on my priority list.
I do believe the Devs did state at some point that base raids could make a return sometime in the future, but considering the total lack of anything relating to bases being done I wouldn't hold my breath. -
Quote:I know. It seems kind of...odd, if you ask me. I know Jack had some nifty ideas, but when I started playing he was the most reviled dev of them all. Suddenly dozens (if not hundreds) of people don't seem to care about what he was like in the past with CoH and are talking of moving to CO. I don't begrudge them that. People are free to play whatever game they like. And I'll admit that (from what I've heard/read) CO will have some things that CoH should have had a long time ago. We're getting some of that now, but only because CO is on the way.I remember everyone complaining about Jack, and were happy to see him go. Now he starts a new game the same people are flocking back to him.
The Irony...
In my books Jack is in very low standing, and if and until I learn otherwise, CO and STO will not be on my "must play" list. Curiosity in them yes, but aside from that, I'm sticking around here. -

It's quite normal for things like that to happen, heh. Even the most experienced base builders can run into their "oops, did I really just do that" moments. As for repairing the damage, it is often easier to rebuild a room from scratch than it is to move/delete items. Desks for instance cannot be deleted once they've been stacked on (in most cases), so you'd have to click and drag each problem desk into an adjacent room, place it there, then delete it. Highly annoying if you ask me. Aligning doorways and having your floor/ceiling set the way you like it is also much easier with the room empty. It's up to you of course, but by the sounds of it, it will probably be easier (if not a little more time consuming) for you to start that room over. Just make sure you've got all your doorways set where you like them, heh. -
Slow Fields are what are generally used to create a "water" effect in bases. They're a crafted base item, from the Tier 1 workbench as I recall (might be Tier 2, not sure). Once you've got them crafted, you can place them in any "Defensive" room. For pools and such, drop the floor level, change style (can't recall the exact style name, but it has "pebble" in the name), color it a shade of blue, then float the Slow Field above the floor using a desk or floor safe. Remove the desk/safe and voila, you have a pool.
You can't walk on the Slow Fields obviously, but if you want the "walk on water" effect, you could try raising the Slow Field just above the level of the existing floor and styling/coloring it to suit the effect you want.
Hope that helps some. -

I would sign up but Justin [censored] all my toons of their IOs.
Plus I'm addicted to real life now.

Understandable. I hear it has awesome graphics and little to no lag XD -
Haunting or not, welcome back
And Cronic, you need to come back :P
I finally made a PvP toon, but now I can't try my hardest to beat you and die anyways with it, hehe. -

Add this ability to the existing Mission Computer!
I mean, it's got the perfect name already!

Then you should absolutely be allowed to do that. I, however, would be dismayed if, in order to experience the going rogue content, I have to leave my SG which has exactly three real people in it and is mostly my and my wife's characters. After all these years we have quite a nice base and if Going Rogue means Starting Over on a SG base, then I will have no part of it.
I further think forcing players to fragment their community in that way would be a truly bonehead maneuver.

Yeah, if they're planning on essentially forcing us to start from scratch, I'd be seriously disappointed and more than likely will not use that aspect of GR at all. Much as I'd enjoy bringing my Fire/Kin Corr or my SS/WP Brute to blueside, I don't want to do so at the risk of losing prestige and standing in my VG and be forced to start over.
I'd also not want to be forced to make a brand new character and slot it up just to do this. I know I can make a cheap toon and just slot SO's or Common IO's, but I'm a little OCD about slotting sets wherever feasible (which of course is not cheap). So making a new toon just to experience the "cross-over" content would turn me off to it.
