  1. Probably the most you could get for them in Inf is a couple million. Almost not worth the effort in my opinion. Maybe consider giving them to newbies interested in starting a VG as a starter base?
  2. You won't need much prestige if you just want it for storage and crafting.

    Summary of items:

    2x2 Workshop (9 storage, 2 workshop, 1 empowerment) = 100k
    Invention Crafting Table = 25k
    IO Storage Bin = 95k (holds 100 crafted IO's)
Salvage Storage Bin = 15k (holds 25 salvage items)

If you plan on needing a Personal Storage Vault (100k, uses 5 Energy & 5 Control), you will need at least the Oversight Center (50k, 3x3, 1 workshop item, 1 storage item, Combo Unit) and a Combo Unit (25k, produces 125 Energy & 75 Control, only 1 per base) to provide Energy and Control.

All told, you'd be looking at around 600k prestige, depending on what you drop into the base. The total would be a little higher if you cram the rooms to their limits for storage items, but 600k is enough for the Oversight Center, Combo Unit, one 2x2 Workshop, Personal Storage Vault, Invention Crafting Table, and several storage items.

The total is obviously quite a bit lower if you don't need/want the Vault item.

    Villain Hami?

It didn't, heh. We had only 9 or 10 people show up, in large part due to the number of TF's and SF's that were going at the time (at least six that I know of, probably more). With the winter event launching soon, and the christmas holidays coming up as well, any further attempts will probably have to wait until after New Years.
  6. It may be pretty much dead, but that doesn't mean it can't be revived somewhat. Most of the PvP vets have moved on, either to other servers or out of the game entirely, but there's still a small crop of new people and a couple of vets left.

CriticalKat, if you have no luck getting one of the more "senior" PvP'ers left on Guardian, I'd perhaps be willing to step up. Unlike some, I've got no interest in moving to another server for PvP, and I wouldn't mind trying to get some new people on Guardian into it. Drop me a line if you like.

I'm pretty sure that one of my sg's juggled all this into a small plot. If you have more than one storage room going, you will need to get the next larger sized plot,
You can easily fit multiple storage rooms, TP rooms large enough for room for four pads, the entry room and control/energy rooms on the Hidden Spot plot (the smallest size). If you're not needing a Medbay, any decorative rooms, and don't care about squeezing as much as possible out of each room, it's no issue at all. My first VG base design fit 5 Telepads (4 for zones + 1 for Pocket D) in 3 rooms (the PD one was in the small 1x2 room by itself), had a proper control room and energy supply room, two workshops (both 2x2, one for salvage storage & vault, one for IO and Inspiration storage & crafting), and the entry room, all on the Hidden Spot plot.

Being a Villain base, unless you plan on going overboard, you won't need a huge Energy Supply room since you only need the first tier generator and as for control, a Mainframe, a couple of Database's and perhaps a Workstation or two and you've got enough (or of course, the Arcane equivalents to those items). That can all be fit in a fairly small control room with ease (not the Oversight Center, as it can only handle a Combo Unit).

Just had to toss my two bits in there...
  9. Quick question if I may. What are the rules on multiple entries? For instance, would one person be allowed to enter both a Hero and a Villain or both a Male and a Female? I would understand if this could be considered unfair or so, but for those of us on the lower population servers it could help to bring a few more costumes to be judged. Thanks!

Personally, I'd say take everything. Anguishing Cry is a bit situational I'll admit, but its -Def debuff is quite useful in helping your pets kill faster. If you solo, I guess you could skip the rez, but even that's useful due to its self-buff when used.

Now can I haz free bacon?

Pyber consider making some Raid Macros prior to the Raid. Might make your life as a Raid Leader easier.
Indeed. I did whip up some macros for the last attempt, but I should probably add a couple more with some team-specific info. I'll be looking into doing that in the next couple of days.

As for a second attempt, this coming Saturday (Dec 5th) is what I'll be aiming for, at the same time as the last one (6pm PST/9pm EST). I ran a respec on my Brute to give him a Taunt power, so I'll be leading the Yellow taunt team with him rather than my Kin as I did last time. As I mentioned in my last post, if we don't have enough Taunters to go around, I'd like to detail some of the MM's to aggro teams. The other thing that we sorely needed was a couple more toons with a rez (and not a Dark rez, heh) and some form of Ally TP.

Hopefully we can get as good a turnout as last time, if not better. We started a little later than I'd hoped last time, so by all means please show up a little early if you can, so that its not running up on 6:45 by the time we start, hehe. And it better not take 20+ Monsters this time either. That was damn annoying that it took so long to spawn Hami.

    Villain Hami?

Sorry for the late post, but I ought to thank everyone that came out Saturday evening to give the Hami a try. We had 36-40 people that came, so numbers were sufficient, but a few more couldn't have hurt, hehe. Due to horrendous lag issues suffered by many, the need for a few more taunters (3-4 more perhaps would have been very nice), and most particularly, a lack of solid explanation from me (sorry guys! ), we called it after the third attempt with the jello.

I would like to try this again the weekend of the 5-6th of December. This time before we start I'll do my best to outline everyone's roll and answer any questions i can. I'll be giving my Willpower Brute a respec between now and then to include a taunt, as I wasn't too comfortable on the Fire/Kin and to give us another taunter. If we don't get quite enough taunting Brutes to control aggro, and considering the turnout of MM's we had, I would like to try using some of the MM's to fill in as aggro magnets with their pets.

I hope I can get at least as good a turnout as this past weekend next time, and with a little luck and some better leadership from me hopefully we can squish Hami. It's possible elsewhere, so why not here!
  14. I too had an issue with Amy's Ward on Saturday (Nov 21st) on my Defender while exemplared down from 50 to 9 or 10 (can't recall which, but was on "Break up the Clockwork and Skulls" mission via Ouroboros Hero-side). Mid-mission, I used up a charge of Amy's Ward, the summon effect went off, but it was a dud. Didn't want to waste another charge on the chance that it was buggy so it only occured once. Not sure if this is the same problem as you drogo, but this was the best recent thread to mention it in.

I neglected to bug it at the time but may as well mention it here in case this turns out to be a persistent issue or so that may need to be addressed.

If all goes well this evening, hopefully there will be future chances for you to get some Villain-flavored jello.

Also, in a merged market situation, the flow of influence to infamy would quickly stabilize, leaving villains overall in a poorer position.
Which wouldn't be anything new over the market situation as it stands now. On average (in my experience), Villains are currently paying in many cases 2-3 times as much for the same recipes compared to Heroes. Salvage is even worse, and don't even get me started on Inspirations (at least, the medium and large ones).

Take an example that I looked at the other day. A five-piece set of Hecatombs I was looking at for my scrapper would have cost me about 600mil Hero-side, while Villain-side I'd be looking at 1bil+ for those same five recipes (more than likely closer to 1.5bil, considering the greed of some sellers). While supply Villain-side is obviously the main culprit currently, I can't see why having access to a combined Hero/Villain supply as being any worse than we have now. Yes, yes, the Heroes would probably end up buying up the lions share of anything on the market, whether it be Hero-generated or Villain-generated, but all in all, the situation wouldn't change much, if at all.

To those among us like myself that play primarily Villains, we've become accustomed to paying exorbitant prices compared to Heroes for the same stuff. To me that's of no great concern anymore, what with my potential weekly income in the 500mil to 1bil range. And if anything, my income could very well increase with a merged market, since I will have a larger pool of buyers to access and sell my drops and merit/ticket rolls to, thus bringing my potential income up. I will admit of course that not every Villain is in the same financial boat as I am, to be sure. But there's nothing stopping them from figuring their own way to make Inf, whether it be by farming in Grandville, the AE or elsewhere, or of course marketeering like many others do (personally, I farm when I need Inf).

What it boils down to in my opinion (and the opinion of many that I play with routinely Villain-side), is that a merged market won't be as terrible as some think it would be. Just as when the AE went live, it will take time for many things on the market to stabilize in price. We learned to deal with the supply issues back then, so why couldn't we learn to deal with them on a merged market?
  17. After a little superficial search-fu, I couldn't come up with the post from Sunstorm that turned up on the Base forum a while ago, but I recall him saying that for the foreseeable future there will be no changes coming to bases. We can always hope for new items, revamped design engine or raiding, but personally, I wouldn't count on anything new until after Going Rogue has hit full release.

    Villain Hami?

Quick note before I head to the land of the Sandman. Thanks to the team that joined me on Monster Island this evening to collect up some EoE's. I've got a stash of 50+ now that I can draw from should they be needed this weekend or for future Raids.

And before Saturday, I'd like to get a solid idea of who will be leading each team. Ariel, I believe you volunteered to lead one, and I'd welcome that as I know you've participated in many of Wulfs raids (I know you've got your MoITF beforehand, but hopefully you'll be there!). I'll be picking up one of the Yellow Teams on my Fire/Kin, so that leaves three teams that I'd like solid leaders for (or four should there be a large enough turnout for a sixth team). So if anyone that's willing to take on this mantle and do their best to lead a team, drop me a line here or in-game.

Until Saturday then folks! Remember, 6pm PST/9pm EST

    Villain Hami?

    Thanks much Wulf

The extra details will be of great help, and hopefully some people will have a glance at this thread and read through your post to see where they fit in. The less people I have to explain to, the faster we can get down serving jello, heh.

As for EoE's, this evening I'm going to see about organizing a team to collect some extras in The Abyss to ensure that we have extras in case of shoddy drops while attempting to spawn Hami on Saturday, and of course for future use.

I know Guardian's rather low population of regular Villain players could affect the numbers we get, but I'm truly hopeful that we can get at least enough for the primary five teams. After seeing how many showed up to a last minute call for help during the aborted attempt several months ago (as Blood Beret mentioned earlier), I'm reasonably sure we should be able to get enough, especially with the advance notice this time around.

    Villain Hami?

So, now that I know when I'll have time this coming weekend I've settled on a time for the first Raid.

    Saturday, Nov 21st @ 6pm PST / 9pm EST

This will allow for plenty of time before the Rikti Raid later that night, and will hopefully be early enough to catch as many people as possible. As for the strategy we'll be using, what I'd like to do is try something similar to what Wulf and TA do on Pinnacle, which is a somewhat altered version of his Hero-side Hami Raids. Should we be successful this weekend, the following Saturday I'd like to try the strategy that Southern linked me to. After that, we'll decide which is easier to accomplish and stick with it.

I haven't confirmed any of the details with Wulf on his strategy yet (I'll talk to him in the next couple days when I have more time), but from what I understand it is similar to how he runs the Hero-side Hami Raids. Wulf, if I'm wrong about whats below, please let me know.

    - Taunting Brutes in place of Tankers
    - Yellow team would be all other Brutes and Stalkers
    - Blue team would consist of Corruptors and some Dominators
    - Green team would consist of Dominators, MM's and any Corruptors not filling the Blue team.
    - VEATs would be placed according to their powersets (ranged or melee)
    - As with Hero-side, each team will need someone with TP Friend to pull corpses out of the jello when it pops
    - MM's can be spread around a little depending on their Secondary. All I'd ask is that when Hami pops, the MM's leave their pets when they run since we don't need aggro-happy pets bringing Hami aggro back to the gather point.

The general idea will obviously be along the same lines as the Hero-side Raids, with the taunting Brutes going in first after buffing up, and then followed by each of the Mito teams. TP'ers leave the jello first before Hami pops, followed by as many as can survive the pop, breaking aggro before gathering again for the next stage.

I'll see what I can do to gather a small stockpile of EoE's in case we don't get many while killing the monsters to spawn Hami. There aren't many available on Villain-side, but I'll grab what I can during the week running up to Saturday, perhaps leading a couple of monster hunting teams to build up said stockpile.

As mentioned, I'll chat with Wulf about the finer points of running his Pinnacle Raids in the next couple days hopefully, and I hope to see as close to a full zone as possible in The Abyss on Saturday evening!

    Villain Hami?

Okay, well by the looks of this thread and what inquiries I've fielded in game, I'd say its a good bet that at least a trial run should go ahead. I am aware of Turkey Day in the States coming up in the near future, so I'd like to aim for the weekend prior (21-22 Nov) and hopefully catch as many as possible for the Raid before people start heading out of town and such to visit family for the holiday.

I'll have one of the Level 50 mods place an announcement in the MotD closer to that weekend once a tentative time is set for the Raid. I rarely catch either of the Guardian Channel mods online (or at least not afk), so if someone has them on their friends list or so, please ask if they'd drop me a line so I can ask about possibly hijacking that channels MotD as well to get the word out as much as possible that way. I will of course also post the particulars here as well.

One last note, anyone that has prior experience leading Hami Raid teams (not necessarily the raid itself, but the teams that compose the Raid), I'd welcome them as team leaders for the Villain Raid. The more experienced hands we can get to help lead this thing, the better the chance for success in my opinion.

Before this becomes an unsurmountable wall of text, I'll stop here for now. Feel free to drop me a line here or in-game @pyber
  23. Hehe...4 hours is a fast room for me as well. My biggest project (Stargate Command complete with Stargate) took over 20 hours of construction, and that's not even counting most of the detail work I've put in since designing the bare bones of the project, and its still not 100% done. Wish I could use the big CoT portal that spawns all those Behemoths for the Stargate though. Would look so much better than the ring of floor safes I currently have.

    Quote:
It's not the ability to do it, it's the fact of having more options to do it with and making it easier.
I see your point, and I don't begrudge you for wanting the base editor to be made easier to use. But for many of us, using the current editor to design things it was never meant to allow or include is half the fun, hehe.

    Quote:
I, for one, would like to see the medical furniture and accessories we see in hospitals and the RWZ infirmary available in addition to what exists now.
True. While we can construct some nifty medical-like objects, there's still some things that would be great to have in place of those.

The same applies to other things as well of course, like the exercise equipment mentioned in that list. It would be much less time-consuming to have ready-made items to place, but I must admit half the fun of the current base editor is using various pieces to make what you want (like my Stargate, heh).
