  2. I'm not sure where people are supposed to find out about Bodyguard mode since I haven't rolled a new one in a long time, but it seems there are a lot of people who don't know or understand when they are in BG mode and how much resistance they are getting.

If there is a way to represent the amount of Bodyguard resistance the MM is getting I think it would go a long way to people figuring out how important BG mode is and when they are out of BG mode/range wrt to their henchmen.

A bar kind of like a fury bar or domination bar would work I guess.
  3. People do TFs and trials all the time (even on the smaller servers), but you can also flashback through ouros for reward merits solo as well.

You can pick up the individual SL disc for $29, but if that is too hefty, maybe you have family members who can share the tab if they have macs as well. The 5 user Snow Leopard family pack goes for $46 at amazon, which can make it less than $10/person. Or find someone selling their disc on craigslist.

Thanks Pum... I knew you could come up with something useful if I tried harder.

I'm organizing my coalition. We can only put together a couple of full teams but we could provide maybe a half-dozen competent team captains with support instead. Most of us belong to both channels so I'm sure we can get some recruits when the time comes but that's a lot of bodies to try and secure at the spur of the moment. Anyone that thinks they can put together a team in advance speak up. I'll give out more details closer to time but it will almost certainly be sometime Saturday the 6th in the evening (U.S. time).

I thought the ships could be slowed? No? Then is there any reason to have more than buffers and damage with as many rads (or whatever) debuffing as possible?
Probably a kinetic per team to SB the teammates in case they don't have fast flight or they are melee. The drop ships move quite fast. No need to try to immob the ships except for containment for trollers.
  6. 1. Join JU and JFA2010. Ask a mod to + your event. In this case Drop ship raid. Time and date and perhaps faction/zone.

    2. Get vidiot maps. They show some of the routes for the dropships on your map.

    3. Get a jet pack. Find a person with Group Fly in case someone brings their flying stone tank.

    4. When the time is nigh, yell at all the people in JU and JFA2010 that they need to gather in the proper zone for the drop ship raid.

    5. Lead raid using /req. Hang out near where the ships enter the zone for their bombing runs. The ships cannot be slowed or immobilized. Blast ships.

Justice is full of the laziest yet most experienced and jaded people of all the servers. Asking usually gets you nothing. Whipping and berating them out of their torpor usually works better. And rubbing soft underbellies sometimes works bestest.

PS. Use an active voice to post everything instead of passive voice.

PPS. Instead of waiting on the zone invasion, you should just get a couple of teams to zerg a couple of LGtfs. Only takes half an hour and then you'll be guaranteed a time of invasion, and if you get enough people 'helping' to do the TF, you might saturate enough zones that you get the one you wanted.

It is actually preferable this way since you were guaranteed to have no pets. Currently the bug might have you holding pets but not be able to control them and summoning will do nothing until you use the /releasepets command.

Also the upgrades powers weren't AoE but they didn't eat all your endurance either.
  8. I think it is time to ditch my 5970 and go back to nVidia. Waiting on PS and AMD to get any crossfire working has proven to be a waste of time since it seems like it isn't a priority for either company.

Once Sandy Bridge is official I suppose dual GTX 580s will be the order of the day. Too bad...eyefinity showed so much promise too.

Any reason why you aren't running 10.6 (Snow Leopard)?

The performance of the OS is a little better and there have been improvements in the Graphics drivers as well as OpenGL optimizations as well, from what I recall. They probably won't be a huge boost, but perhaps it would help somewhat.

Edit: CuppaManga is the resident CoH Mac expert here so perhaps sending a PM or post in the Mac forum would help.

    Repeat.

That is in NO way the same thing as: Zone in, clear map for the love of the killin, zone out.

And THAT is in no way the same for me as Bounce from map to map, enemy type to enemy type, run TF here and there, run some papers at +4/x8, run some AE maps at +0/x8 for tickets, hop from new lowbie to new lowbie, etc.
If that's your bag, then I guess that's what you wanna do...but teaming and zerging TFs isn't that far behind in overall efficiency (more merits but fewer purple drops) and you won't go batcrap insane from the monotony. If you did anything identically over and over again it would cease to be fun and become work.

I guess you like to solo lots so there's fewer options than teaming in this game.

This statement always makes me wonder how the rest of the game is so much different. Other than 'fer realz' PvP, the game is pretty much see target, kill target, move on...so doing tasks that will net you task force merits is pretty similar to getting tickets, Amerits or just plain old levelling.

Of course, special/zone events can be a little different, but I fail to see how it's that boring to get a set of teammates and zerg a TF or three or more each night. You can pretty much do whatever you want in between, including marketing, channel bombing or a quick duck into Virchoo Pocket D.

And there is nothing wrong with drinking while playing. Sometimes it might even lubricate your experience, especially in Pocket D.

Yah, that's why I wrote the post in that specific manner. Not all servers and raiders can make Hami raids quick and easy. 14 min - 1 hour depending on server and raiders.
  13. Depending on the server you are on, don't forget to jump into the easy and quick hami raids...can be a fast 53 merits or whatever it is now.

In some cases where the bug appears, the henchman do not get dismissed when right clicking on them and choosing 'dismiss'.

In other cases where the bug manifests itself, the pets do not appear on your list at all and may not follow you, but they are still counted as being cast. This means that your new summons will seemingly fail without adequate feedback, since a pet is already existing for you, just not under your control. I've had all of my MM pets out once and none of the were under my control nor did they show up on my list. In those cases resummoning seemed to do *nothing* at all.

In those cases, the only way to guaranteed fix the problem is to use the /releasepets command, which will dismiss *all* of your currently cast pets. In some cases this may mean that you've already attempted to put out henchman, or also have non MM pets with a long recharge, like dark servant. If that happens you can pretty much be guaranteed a certain of frustration by having half of your pets ready only, or none at all for a short time.
  17. If it's only the first line that is working, it is possible that it is a return character issue in the text file? Have you tried jumbling up the order of the keybinds so numpad2 is first, and seeing if numpad2 works and numpad1 won't?

Just because Apple may have access doesn't mean they have an implementation. It is my understanding that the Mac drivers for the graphics cards are written by the manufacturer under contract to Apple, so Apple controls the release of the drivers, and this allows nVidia and AMD to release their own cards without having to do the development all over again for 'their' stand alone cards, like the GTX285 that was released by EVGA. I'm not sure where I got that information though, and it could be incorrect afaik. So I believe that SLI support is entirely possible but Apple simply doesn't want to pay nVidia to implement it.

BTW, nVidia does provide mac driver support directly, as evidenced by this link:
    http://www.nvidia.com/object/quadro-...23-driver.html

Your link talks about Quadros and Multi-OS SLI, but there is no mention of Mac OS SLI support at all.

I've looked for any evidence regarding SLI support for Mac Pros in Mac OS X, and every link points to the contrary.

This will get rid of all pets, even bugged ones and let you recast. Highly annoying bug.

A team of 6-7 well coordinated and good players can run an entire zone event by themselves but having a full team at each banner makes things go a lot easier.

    Hi Justice!

Welcome back...PG pretty much nailed it. Justice is pretty much a channel oriented place now. JU and JFA2010 are the starting points to getting some action.
