  1. That is so cool. I'd sure like to see if that could be won. Set one up, get a good group and try and clear it out.

    Awesome.
  2. So much silliness in this thread. Trapdoor is a bit tougher than your usual baddie, but he isn't impossible. Last night, I actually did it on a toon that failed the first time, a sonic/sonic/psychic defender.

For some reason, her hold never worked, even for an instant and so he just started cloning unabated and she just couldn't do enough damage. Plus, the bifurcates spawns were particularly annoying on that try and I couldn't even find one to take him out. I got down to where there was only one (I think), but she couldn't do enough damage to take him out. As the bifurcates started stacking up, I saw the writing on the wall and started over.

The second time, I ignored the hold, dropped a shivan, hit him with Envenomed Dagger and took the bifurcates as they showed. Game over in no time.

Not impossible. Harder than Clamor? Yes.

The only advantage to having a level 10 over a level 50, is that you can slot the level 10 -and thus utilize the bonus- at level 7, instead of having to wait until level 47 for the level 50 enhancement.

But really, who slots a level 7 character with a 3 billion influence enhancement? Assuming, of course, you even HAVE a power at level 7 that can slot it.

In all practical application, the level 50 is the same the level 10.
  4. Last night on my Trick Arrow/Archery defender...

Hold Trapdoor. Shoot Trapdoor. Shoot Trapdoor some more. Refresh the hold on Trapdoor. Kill the one or two bifurcations Trapdoor manages to squirt out between Holds. Hold Trapdoor some more. Shoot Trapdoor a lot more because you do pretty piddly damage. Defeat Trapdoor. Postulate and wonder why people are saying this is impossible.
  5. I did like how the mannequin had Nicolas Cage's face, but with the top of his head cut off. Sometimes, I want to chop the top of his head off.
  6. The Greatest 36 minutes EVER!

    Here's what I got:
I finished a "real" MoApex (I had all the badges.)
    A stun Purple
    An Obliteration triple
    5 incarnate shards
    Reward Merits

    So much fun. Thanks, Cai.

    Speed TF's

Going quickly requires MORE teamwork in my opinion. For example, when the people I game with are really clicking on a Kahn TF, as soon as Ritter is found, one of us Ouros out to PI and heads to Tina. If it's timed correctly, that person can get there, go through her dialogue and light the next mission AND get to the mission door just as everyone else is zoning into PI, hit the Team TP, and enter the mish. On many runs, there may be two minutes between the end of the Ritter mish and the beginning of the final mission, in which someone else runs ahead and Team TPs us all in. If everyone knows what jobs need to be done and does them, times improve... because of teamwork.

Please don't think I'm bashing kill-all TFs -I enjoy them just fine occasionally- but I surely don't think it requires more teamwork to accomplish them.

No teamwork? I would argue that good speeders have considerably MORE teamwork, much of which expands to build advice and tips for maximizing effectiveness.

I can't imagine that the 28 minute Tin Mage we ran last night utilized LESS teamwork than the three-hour one someone else ran.
  9. In running a Tin Mage last night, as we were buffing up before the final showdown with Neuron and Bobcat and the Goliaths, I checked to see what my shard count was looking like, and had gotten NONE for the whole TF to that point. I was disappointed because I only needed one to get my Radial Boost, but oh well, it'll balance out. We killed Bobcat, Neuron and the two Goliaths and the TF was done. I checked again when I was back at the War Zone Base, and I had FOUR!
  10. Apex + Tin Mage is one very fun hour. These new TFs are awesome.

There's the store girl in Founder's and Baby New Year, but not kids running around. You are right on that.
  12. I'd be pleased if post-alpha slot 50s could get shards on more TFs, especially the Task Force Commander sextet. That would expand the array of oft-played events.
  13. Did drops come back after the patch today? (I'm at work and can't test.)

To be honest, I am enjoying how high the prices are climbing with the supply cut off.

Inherent fitness has forced me to rethink many builds, because sometimes just the one slot is not enough in a new power. The main way in which most of my toons change is that their attacks are usually slotted with 5 IOs from one set and the proc from another, a solid +damage approach. Now post-i19, I found I have stripped that extra proc and gone with either five slots, or went for 6-slot bonuses. Things like that. Having three (or four) new powers is a boon, but you do have to rethink things sometimes.

Not necessarily. Sure, there are probably your obligatory gold sellers and other scum and villiany, but most of the farmers there are just leveling themselves or their friends or farming tickets for recipes or salvage.

Don't go to Altas AE on Freedom. It is a place of madness.

The drains will be trivialized by level difference. I think the sleep is 100%? useless.... That is kind of where I am headed. Without some of the nice kd/ku, the soft controls of elec seem really weak in comparison to other potential controls available to doms/trollers, especially up against purples.
You may be right, but if I understand this incarnate thing correctly, we've seen only a small part of it. There is a chance that the "Beta slot" will address these concerns. For now, soft control is at a bit of a disadvantage, but it may not always be so.
  17. Architect Entertainment. Check out the big building in most zones.

I had the same thing happen yesterday.
  19. We did one last night, my first, in 45 minutes. We chose to do the Neuron-first thing (which I still don't understand fully) which I guess is much tougher, but offers a badge (that some of us didn't get anyway). I can definitely see how the whole thing could be done much quicker.

    What a great TF.
  20. What's the point of anything in this game? Because, it's fun for some people, perhaps.

    Respec Question

I'm a vet, so you'd think I know the answer to this, but I don't.

When respecing, does it matter what level I slot certain powers for when I exemp down?

For example, if I don't put two extra slots of EndMod in Stamina until level 50, will I still get the enhancement when I do the Positron TF and auto-exemp down to Lowbieland? Or do I have to slot it early in the respec to get the effect early when I exemp?
  22. I'm also not getting any drops of any kind in zone.

I don't know what percentage of PvPIO drops are being generated by farmers, but I bet it's pretty high, at least 50%. Can you imagine how high the prices for PvPIOs would be on the market with the supply cut in half? Farmers keep the supply high.

Yes. The ONLY advantage to having a level 10 as opposed to a level 50 is that you can slot it earlier in the life of the toon. If you are slotting in a character that is already at least 47, there is no difference.
