For my EC/elec dom, I slotted mostly to get to permahasten and permadom. Sets were chosen based on recharge bonus -- except conductive aura and static field. Conductive Aura I have slotted with generic IOs: 3 End Mod, 1 Acc and 1 Heal (it drains off endurance and health both). Static Field I have slotted two generic Accs, two generic End Mods, and Pacing of the Turtle: End Redux/Recharge/Slow. I realize it's not conventional, but I went for super sapper.

The dark servant's melee range -tohit at base 30% debuff, pet twilight grasp and dark controls are gravy on your meal of mobs.

Fire/cold controllers have a lot of tools. Flashfire is my favorite opener. It's definitely team-oriented. You have decent damage with ice shielded imps. You have 'turnaround' powers in sleet and heat loss. Heat loss and benumb are great for big game. Elegant infrigidate at tier one stacks with the other slows and is effective.

There are two features of jolting chain that I never get tired of: the end decrease in chain form can drain a lot of foes combined with the Gremlin's jolting chain, if you took those. The second thing is the knockdown. It's just yummy, but I started on a storm defender so I might be biased.

Quote:This is quite true which is why of six slots in demon prince I have four Pacing of the Turtle which includes accuracy, damage, endurance redux, and slow enhancement features. Most everything that the Demon Prince does has a slow componentThanks guys. I did indeed mean enhancements. Mastermind slotting is definitely tricky. Apparently the pet IO's don't apply to all the pet powers, either. For instance, am I correct that end redux in Blood Mandate won't reduce the end use of all powers used by pet demons?

I have found with my EC/elec dom: more synaptic overload is better than less
By all means, one of the favorite methods is to step from a spawn when it's half-way defeated and 'soften up' the next group, especially if your domination up and get a crack at a boss. -
Quote:I am not sure this is true. My first Mastermind used stealth and superspeed, total inviz. When I placed the old Poison Trap, it alerted the Family Consigliere (not +perception ) and I certainly wasn't even close to melee range. Also, I was nowhere near where the trap would affect the spawn if it were triggered where placed. I was trying to put it where they would run passed it as they approached my sniper bots.
Placing traps has never notified a mob in and of itself. -
TwilightsRequiem is quite right. You are not crazy. This bug came with the Demon set. This question reappears just about every time the latest thread sinks to about the 3rd page of the Mastermind forums. This needs to be stickied.

Office map, near group, group at door of small office, group around corner for added flavor, pets on passive stay. Take your hurricane, and after blowing near group to corner run into combined 2 groups to debuff/aggro. Visit 3rd group with hurricane. Run INTO small office, stand at edge of door, break line of sight. Mobs pile in and are pushed away from mastermind. Hit defensive mode. Pets follow spawns into room. Drop Mr. Twisty. Cast lightning storm. Block door. Keel dem alll!!

Sleet/freezing rain (the storm version) do have different pets from the damage rains, the ticking is different.

Not sure what I was doing, I didn't see the whole drop-down menu when I first installed or tried to view again. I blame my eye surgery on Mar. 23 and having 20/80 vision at best currently in my non-dominant eye. I SEE, said the blind man to his deaf and pick up his hammer and saw.

Rechecked options, it is NOT in my option selections to close the launcher when loading the game. There is an option to minimize it to the tray while playing. Also there is an option to allow multiple instances. I do NOT have that option enabled. In my impatience I have actually clicked Play Now a second time, because my computer had no indication that it was activated, yet later I had two instances running.

Yes, please, let me play another 84 months. -
The damage modifiers for ice storm and blizzard are the same for defenders and corruptors. I chose to go corruptor for my first Ice/cold. Leveling up is the biggest difference. Cold gets heat loss at 38, compared to defenders at level 32.
Defender's cold has different buff/debuff modifiers such as: 0.625 recovery for caster on heat loss (defender); 0.5 recovery for caster on heat loss (Corruptor); -30% resistance for 30 sec on heat loss (defender and corruptor); -300% recharge (defenders and corruptors) -
Necro/Storm does work. As much kb as there is, the mastermind's goal is to maximize damage and survival. Good stormies don't blow things out of the zombie's trough, the kill zone, and good stormies don't blow things out of freezing rain either. Hurricane is a scalpel, a fine tool, not a sledgehammer.

Quote:hindsight 20/20, small consolation nowBTW, they posted that, due to the mix-up between part 1 and 2 (their error), you can now earn the reward from either task force.

Quote:I am SURE its the game, not the hardware.I don't think it's the game client. I run mine on an old thing, not sure what's inside but when a tube burns out I just replace it. So, it's probably either your hardware is fragged or your software has a switch set the wrong way/driver installed sideways/w/e. But the game is still running fine on my old box, and every once in a while the monkey inside the box even comes out and gives me a big thumbs up!

More discussion please. I think if it's interruptible, giving 'notice' to the spawn in aggro range is unmanageable - gimp me one way or the other, not both.
-
Gah, fighting over hasten. Just shoot me now.
-
The performance and gaming experience has diminished noticeably since I have to have that damn memory leaking/lag causing/cookie munching/activity tracking/trojan-like NCSoft Launcher running in the background. It might not be intentionally malicious, but stupid is as stupid does.
-
I am having forum issues, and they are not being resolved. I am pessimistic they will be resolved before the servers all shut down.
-
Good discussion. I don't care if it's caltrops range as long as there isn't interruption - notice ok, but interruption is the bad bad part.

Quote:I appreciate that suggestion, too. I have more time recently to play, so I alt pretty hard, not sure about the OP.I'm going to throw a suggestion out, and I hope you don't take offense, because this is what I would personally do. Since you've been away from the game for so long, I would suggest rolling an alt from scratch and get used to the game again. I would even suggest rolling a lowbie storm toon since Storm is such a finesse powerset. Get your feet wet, remember what you liked and didn't like about your storm/psy and then respec him accordingly.
Of course, you're free to disregard my advise, since I purposefully ignored your build request.
Most of all, have fun. Oh, and welcome back.
In light of the incarnate content, I can also appreciate not wanting to wait until level 50 with a new alt before experiencing the new level 50+ content. -
Try this on for size
I see you didn't take hasten. I popped in Gale instead of Provoke, sometimes they function the same way

I usually don't post Hami-Os in my builds since they are hard to level up withbut a level 49 power seemed like a good home. Storm/Psy is starved for slots
