I also have had more lag issues since the merge; rubberbanding more often, but the worst has to be the powertray lag with powers displaying as recharged when they aren't(5-10seconds or more sometimes) with a green netgraph, that sucks.

Also, generic CPU/ram overloading can cause yellow/red spikes on your netgraph(I pushed my PC too far with coh open last night and saw the blocks of the yellow myself), that's why I didn't edit it into my post a few minutes after making it to mention the netgraph.

rubberband-lag comes from lack of communication between your PC and the CoH servers. The only real way to tell whether it's your ISP or CoH at what time is to ask in a globalchannel/broadcast/help channel when it is happening frequently and see if it's happening to anyone else on your server.

I've been trying to suggest the idea of "Super Flight" where having fly and superspeed on at once would make you fly at SS's speed. I've heard of people taking both, 1 for movement, 1 for actual travel speed.

Then again I've also been asking the devs on ustream about pool/epic power customization, and they read over it mumbling it out loud and then move on to the next line of chat >.>.

I thought of what'd happen if they add a skip button months ago; veterans would hit skip, then the "noob" with the long loading time who wanted to watch the cutscene would load in to being yelled at for not participating in the WarWorks phase with the League .

That right there is probably why they don't allow skipping it, pressure would be put onto participants to skip over it even if they didn't want to just to keep up with the group.

I just recently started reading the missiontext and clues of storyarcs/TFs I wasn't leader of, I'm a pretty fast reader, but with some of them (especially new content where the devs turn some missiontext into a short book) I start hearing blips in chat "you coming PG?". I've always thought of CoH cutscenes as an immovable anchor, making sure the players are given the story related to the content they are doing even if they don't read the text involved.

Do you get to the screen after login to accept the EULA? If it hangs before you see that screen it likely isn't the serverlist causing the problem, but I don't have an idea on what it would be.

ALSO: If you have a shortcut to CoH on your desktop(not the launcher itself) you can try adding
-verify
to the Target line, outside of the quotes of the file that is in that box, with a space between the endquote and the dash of verify.

That will have a separate thing verify your files against the server, as I understand it a separate/alternative method for the "Repair (Consistency Check)" built into the launcher.

No I haven't tried that yet. Since it works for some patches I hadn't thought it could be of any help, I guess ill see.

So after hearing via CoH's UStream that the servers were back up tonight I went and opened the launcher to get in-game. People in the chat were already saying what servers they were confirming worked...but my launcher wouldn't download the patch to let me in. A dev responded to something in chat and said the launcher was probably being overwhelmed by people.

It said "Downloading..." for CoH, I clicked Update, and it opened the updating window. It didn't say 1/30, 0%, a filename, ETA, or anything, it was just blank. So I reached to have it do a consistency check...since it believed it was downloading it wasn't even an option. I closed and re-opened the launcher multiple times and it always did the same thing. To get patched tonight I had to once again say "screw the stupid new launcher", dig through my c:\program files to the old updater, and do it that way. And of course, old reliable fixed the .piggs that needed updating, updated the checksum, and got me in-game(if it really was stress on the update server breaking NCsoft's then why did this one run like a charm? ). After doing THAT was the ncsoft launcher able to open and go "hey look CoH is up to date" and launch from there too. This is the 2nd or 3rd patch that this has happened to me with, and firing the old launcher was the only way to get my files updated. Idk how i'm ever gonna play if they phase that out.

Does anyone else have issues with the NCSoft Launcher not downloading patches?

Most typical KB Protection powers are Mag 4, the Incarnate trials(even apex and Tin Mage I think) have enemies with powers that do a higher mag than that, so it beats your protection and you go flying. PG gets knocked around a lot on them too, and he has a mag4 proc.

Hm, just checked the KB protection of Grounded on a scrapper in mids and it's 12.6, but I didn't know about the jumping circumstance, if that's true it makes sense.

(I figured "Grounded" was an electricity term, not actually an * of the power's protection lol)

Oh also Noire, if you haven't heard yet; besides getting the badge for changing(or reaffirming) to a certain alignment, there's another one for maintaining it for a week. So if you're doing it for badges it takes a LOT longer, since you have to sit at each alignment for a week instead of the 2day minimum(for getting the tips for the next) to get those ones .

PG has been a Vigilante since November. He's 3 tips and a morality from villain, but I just can't do it lol. He even has 100% progress on most villain-exclusive dayjobs, so when he does change he'll get all those at once .

My sister's notebook got itself a virus/trojan recently. I just used a combination of MalwareBytes and "SuperAntiSpyware" and got it working fine again.

One thing that really impressed me with SAS was it's repair tab. Things like "Reset Folder Options Permissions" "Reset Task Manager Permissions" "Reset/Unlock Desktop Wallpaper" "Reset Network Connection Settings", AND "Attempt Repair of System Restore Function". For recovering any settings that remain broken after the infection is gone(all free btw too).

I couldn't get either of them to update though, on either of my PCs on the network(via a wireless router). Luckily their existing databases knew about what was screwing with her computer. I have a netgear router, it also wouldn't let Mcafee.com load, but their tech gave me an IP to add to my hosts file which fixed it. Does anyone know of a fix for this(or hosts info for MB and SAS)?

(Now that I think about it, getting my sister's Kaspersky AV to update was always a pain too). I googled it and found detailed instructions about a Linksys router causing these problems, and detailed instructions with their management software to correct it, but it didn't apply to netgear .

It's not global still, each alt has to be logged in .

I took a break from trial-grinding and played my first trial since the sound was added last night. OMG just the sound once is annoying. Let alone "Leader: Everyone here?" "BLIP BLIP BLIP BLIP"x24 members of BAF in under 5 seconds. At one point during the Lambda it was so irritating while running on the acid map I adjusted my grip on the mouse to get to mute so I could think straight and ended up faceplanted.

I've only had a problem with loading the load powerset customization screen...I thought it was just I had too many customizations saved lol.

Hm. I checked a couple things, something gave me a stupid BHO since the last time I used the launcher apparently(yay bypass shortcuts). Disabling the BHO in add-ons fixed it, thanks for the idea .

I just did Vincent Ross's arc last night and got this map. Ugh. 7. FPS. Because of super-glowy racks lol.

So I just ran the launcher to get coh updated with today's patch...and internet explorer pops up with an adware-style site......

After posting here I logged in. I guess a recent change has altered how badge awarding functions. I logged into a dusty toon with 345 days offline. It got Customizer, 3 vet badges, Constant, and Lucky. Only Customizer displayed in the chat and flashed across the screen, the others I had to check the badge window for.

Haha Viv Psychic Maelstrom is my battlecry for most toons. I loved that power in an old XMen game.

I'm gonna wait a couple days to create this toon I think, I played Assailant today for the first time in months and had fun with him. (I also made an awesome new "Domination" costume for him; the classic PG outfit, Dopple-Ganger-ized, but the hair etc arent messed up lol, and the patterns and auras were changed from peacefully smooth to harsh and jagged. I love it . I was gonna post screenshots in this thread, but I got distracted with the anniversary stuff tonight before I took them haha.)

Strato Psychic Revelation just caught my attention, I tried to adjust the properties of it from Revelation to Revealer or something in my head, but it sounds too dirty XD.

I also am working on a Fortunata version of PG I came up with after this Dom one. I'm ok with PG having darts . I have to find a PL to 24 though, 24 levels with no psi and just claws on my Psi based toon, ick . So I get to pick 2 names now lol.

CoH has been doing this every single time I close it for months now, yes, it is VERY annoying lol.
