Question about rubber banding

Since the server merger I've had a lot of lag but most of the time it is the rubber banding, I run to a spot and then a few seconds later I'm back where I started.

My question, isn't that caused by the ISP and not the game? I ask cause we are thinking of dropping this ISP, comcast, but they sent us a letter that said they will be sending a new modem at the end of the month that should fix the problem.

I'm just wondering if this new lag that started right after the server merger is related to the merger or my ISP.

Also I keep this system pretty clean with ccleaner, malwarebytes, avast and mostly 'surf' the interwebs on another computer, this system is basically just for coh.

rubberband-lag comes from lack of communication between your PC and the CoH servers. The only real way to tell whether it's your ISP or CoH at what time is to ask in a globalchannel/broadcast/help channel when it is happening frequently and see if it's happening to anyone else on your server.

Type '/netgraph 1' in-game and this'll show you general latency numbers. If you see sharp spikes in either yellow or red, then it's probably connected to your ISP. If it keeps up, I would log off and cycle the power on your modem. You could also have someone traceroute your IP and see if there's dropped packets. If there is, best bet would be to contact your ISP's Tech Support and see if they can help.

Also, generic CPU/ram overloading can cause yellow/red spikes on your netgraph(I pushed my PC too far with coh open last night and saw the blocks of the yellow myself), that's why I didn't edit it into my post a few minutes after making it to mention the netgraph.
