Quote:*Blinks* those legs/bottoms on "RecluseLite" - want now, please. Thank you. That is all. Also, maybe I am missing something or they are part of one of the vet costume packs but what are the legs on on the Recluse clone? I haven't seen those before... and the star on Statesman's chest for that matter. The two black background parts gave it away as something that isn't available now.

Sigh.
Better luck next week. -

I think the thing I would do after all the "Clearing of debt" and "setting things up for financial security" stuff is offer Paragon Studios the salaries for an additional character artist, programmer and animator so that all of the costume parts and powers I wanted would be made a reality.
And it's a LONG list ... -
Quote:Hear, hear. Well said.I find it amusing that it's perfectly fine for female characters to have back-breakingly large breasts, but when there's even a hint of males having a bulge for once "Oh no, can't have that!" -_-
(Note that that comment's not directed at you, just at the general idea that there was something wrong with it that needed "Fixed" in the first place. It's not like it was comically oversized or obscene.)
I think it's a cousin to the same mentality that keeps guys from getting a Tops With Skin Category with V neck and Deep V tops, that male characters can't have sexy bits because we're supposed to be dressed from head to toe in armor. At this point, I am actually surprised that the old guard of Devs even allowed male toons to go shirtless, let allow gave the guys that bondage strap top.
But I digress - the set is shaping up quite nicely, and I thank you also for showing us that guys get the belt buckles and the skull cap-thingie! -

Please, please, PLEASE:
1) Do NOT make the same mistake as other recent packs (ie Steampunk and Carnival of Light) and make these cool new belts female only. Males could DEFINITELY wear at least the star belt very easily. Want this part.
2) There is a male version of that space cap, yes? If not, there needs to be one, please. And I do stress NEEDS.
and 3) The top of the first pics space dress would make a great V-neck top for males. It is neutral enough that I think it would look quite nice. Can we have, please?
I will say yet again that I absolutely HATE this new policy of giving guys one set of largely unisex options and "something extra" for female players. I will continue to say that I hate it each time something cool comes along for the ladies that could easily be used by men. The ladies complaints have been heard (Baron jackets for all!), it's now time for the boys to get some love, too. -
Quote:Hey, there, Dink! While you're at it could you maybe, just maybe, someday fill in the back of the top, call it a metal tank top, and port it over to the guys? I would LOVE to have a top like that for the boys.Metallic top has been added to Shirts, Robes (Sleeveless also), Jackets (Sleeveless also), Trench Coat, Magic Bolero and Unique Tops and will be out soon
Thanks for the consideration. -
Quote:Incidentally, we could probably ALREADY make that, or something similar to it, in the costume creator with the battle kilt and one of the blazers ... but the orange and fuschia ARE really hideous together ...Seeing something like this makes me sick. What sicko thought it was a good idea to put orange and fuchsia next to each other?

Quote:You know, this is exactly what I was trying to avoid, really, I was, but ...I really didn't see many people, if anyone at all, clamoring for a male version of that Metallic dress women got.
I DID ask for a version of the Metallic dress. A piece of it, anyway. In the feedback threads on the set, I requested an alteration of the top to make a metallic Tank Top for guys. The guys have nothing like it. Do I want the dress? No. Do I think, in general, male toons should be wearing dresses and corsets? Not really, no - so long as we're not counting wizard robes and long jackets, etc., as dresses. But do I think a VERSION of the metallic dress for males in the form of either a metallic top and/or metallic pants is reasonable to ask for? Yeah, yeah I do.
Zwill has said that this new policy has come about as a result of coversations with the community. Well, I was there posting in those conversations, and really, I became very, very disheartened by what I was hearing from Devs because it was obvious early on that male toons were going to get the short shrift. There were several of us arguing for Male versions of female parts, and it was like certain Devs were shoving their fingers in the virtual ears and going "Nyah nyah nyah nyah, we can't hear you." To them, it seems, the Gender disparity thing is only a male to female problem, not vice versa.
So thank you, guys, for confirming that my opinions and desires don't count because I am only one of what you see as a handful of people clamoring for this stuff.
XXX
This again is NO REFLECTION on Dink and what she has done. It is amazing and she has done a wonderful service to the community. As I said before, I tried to stay positive and keep my platform to myself so as not to appear ungrateful. But certain comments just can't help but pull me back into the fray.
In general we have a great team of Devs who give us wonderful stuff to play with time in and time out, but this one issue just seems to be something that there's no happy medium. -
You, milady, are fantastic. You deserve a raise.
My first impulse was to add a bit about "now how about porting female part A to males ..." but really, that would come off as sounding a tad ungrateful for the initiative you took to make so many players happy. Anyone who remembers my posts in the Gender Equality thread should know how hard it is for me to restrain myself, too, since I typically only make male toons. LOL
So thank you, again, for taking such intiative and truly making many, many players of female toons happy. -
Okay, so I highly doubt that we will ever be able to go to a freeform model of power selection, much like that Certain Other superhero MMORPG enjoys, although it is an attractive feature. So what I would like to suggest is an expansion of the power pools that would allow us to expand on our character's powers.
What I envision is additional pools that would give our characters extra powers, sometimes powers that were never intended to be wielded by our selected archetype. For instance, a Weapons Power Pool that would give your characters access to shields or swords or maces, or a Psionic Power Pool that would give your melee character access to psychic blasts or telekinetic bursts.
I am not advocating letting toons get more pools than they are currently limited to, but rather just more powers to choose from to help make your character more unique, or that closer to what we envision. That way if we envision a staff-wielding telepath, we can create a Staff scrapper and use the power pools to give them a limited amount of psionic power. Or conversely, if we envision a Psychic blaster who also carries a sword, we bring that creation to life. An ice blaster who is also a fire blaster could be doable by selecting one of these new power pools.
It would also allow us access to powers that don't (yet) or may never have a full powerset devoted to them, such as the Demon Mastermind's whip attacks, or the upcoming Beast Mastery's Birds and Bee "blasts."
I hope you consider this feature, as I think it would really help up the ante in allowing us to achieve our ideal heroes ... barring fully customizable, freeform heroes, that is.
Thanks for your time, and your efforts in making this game so much fun to play. -
Okay, so no closed robes, but they could do a variation on open robes a la Witch Bolero or trenchcoat. I have been begging for an Emperor's Robe for males for years now.
They could also suggest long dresses by using waist capes for both front and back of the body. That should solve the kicking issue.
Although really, if everyone promises not to use long robes on their martial artists, what's the harm in letting other archetypes have the long dresses? Yes, I know, not everyone would *promise* - it's kind of a facetious suggestion. But I really hate that a whole range of costume parts are dismissed summarily because one or two powersets wouldn't be able to employ the parts intelligently. Really, players know enough to avoid costume parts that clip horribly. Give us the parts and trust that we will use them appropriately. -
I would definitely throw my vote into a "turn into a bird" power. Specifically, either a crow/raven or an owl, but I would also be happy with a hawk. My magic toon Gianni Warlock NEEDS this power.
And ridiculous or not, I have some toons that would kill for a motorcycle.
And could we please get a wolf travel power in addition to the coyote. It just makes more sense to me, what with Beast Mastery coming SOON (TM). -
There's something about A that speaks to me, so A.
But I do like the sleekness and versatility of C. -
C for the gloves and boots. Gotta have those for my Beam Rifle character Space Ace Jace.
Now port those gloves and boots over to the B body suit and we have ourselves a winner ...
I know, I know - you have limitations, but you can't show us options and expect us NOT to lust after them all.
Sometimes, maybe, the wizard SHOULD stay behind the curtain after all. -
Gah, A and B are both great ... but since I have to choose 1, I'll say "B" by a narrow margin.
Pssst - make both! -
Would love, love, LOVE to go to this ... but cannot. I am poor. And me and my partner are trying to get to Disney World this fall, before the world "ends." But hold one of these NEXT April, and I'll be there! Been dying to go to one of these.
Plus I want to be able to have input into a costume set ... cue evil laughter ... -

Oh another thing on tights - while you're looking at this issue, could you please give us a "star field/cosmic" tights, a la modern (pre-reboot) Donna Troy or 90's Quasar. Your Distinguished Competition has pieces like this in their store, and the effect is quite stunning. I cannot stress how strongly I would LOVE to see something like this for tights, capes, gloves, boots, shirts, t-shirts, briefs, etc.
On another note, I was playing on the Beta server and found the Valentine's Day club pack. It's nice stuff, but i was wondering why guys didn't get a "metal" tank top like the gals did. (You know the one, the top that corresponds with the skirt.) This is exactly the kind of thing I was talking about earlier in this thread about variations/new patterns/textures for tank tops and tankers. I would very much like to have a metal tank top/t-shirt/tanker, etc. -
Also, this may be getting away from the intent, and if so, I apologize, but I would love to be able to add patterns and textures to things like Tanker top and Tank Top for both guys and gals. You only get the one style of each, and it's limiting. Surely a few new options for these pieces wouldn't be too hard to come up with?

And don't forget it's brother version (I'd have liked to have pasted the picture into the message like others, but I am unfortunately unlearned in the ways of doing these advanced internet tasks, so please follow the link).

As for basic tights, as I mentioned in the other thread, I would like to see scale armor, a la Aquaman and Deathstroke, tops and bottoms for both sexes, including briefs and tights for both. I think these would be versatile enough to lend themselves to a variety of concepts, including aquatic and reptilian for beast types, and fantasy or urban armor toons.
I would also like to see the Impervium cape texture translated into full-blown tights, gloves and boots. It's a great looking cape that's left to hang there (no pun intended) without anything that matches it. Not that it doesn't look good with a variety of other pieces, but having a texture or tights that match would be useful.
I think having a mix of things, from Golden Age with seams and folds and creases to look like real cloth, to sleek modern things like Impervium and it's ilk, like a small honeycomb pattern, would be the best of both worlds. -
Quote:When you eventually get around to this, just don't forget the jungle boys, too ...You guys are talking about a lot of different sets here. When I hear "Golden/Silver Age Comics," I think of super-heroes (jungle girls, for example, would be an entirely different genre--but a fun one!).
You make me nervous when you single out one gender like that, especially in light of all the gender equality discussions of late.
