Quote:Lol that is me to a TSeriously, you occasionally sound reasonable and then you sound very... unreasonable. based on this, I suspect that you are likely human.
But I have absolutely no tolerance for people who get the little things like this wrong because it shows a lack of basic care. -
Quote:And this is the very problem.content that is radically different from the rest of the game.
How is anyone supposed to know off the bat that they need to go offsite to find guides for content when the rest of the content is intuitive?
And honestly why should they have to? The very fact the content is that different to everything that made the game what it is today is poor design.
Did you ever feel the need to do prep when say the ITF was released? Or did you jump in and work out the last fight on the fly? I led a PUG on day 1 and it didn't even occur to me that I didn't know what I was doing because it didn't matter, even though with no knowledge the ITF was hard initially. -
Quote:I think that only counts on IO'd doms stacking confuse.Erm, what?
Mind Control is absolutely over the top heinously broken on Dominators
With SO slotting I don't think Mind is very good at all, is a 1 trick pony, and does very low (If any) damage compared to the other sets. -
Quote:You got me on that oneI am going to go out on a limb and suggest that verbal communication is the original one and that a video feed more properly represents that than a forum post using fancy symbols to represent sounds.
But does that mean the devs will do what I want if I find a big enough club? -
-
I would pick assault if you want more damage, and I count melee more as a heal over time than anything else, so could be used if you find yourself biting off slightly more than you can chew, but not too much more.

Quote:A much better way of putting it. Thank youHow many times do (generic) you run Laura Lockhart's arc on the same character in one evening?
How many times do you run the iTrial de jour on the same character in one evening?
If the iStuff gets vastly more playable time added then it is the majority of the focus. -
Quote:I think most people went FTP, then stopped enjoying it because they couldn't join in with everything, but couldn't voice their opinion because the forums are restricted and so left quietly.I agree with you 100%. Alas, I tend to think I'm in a minority about it these days.
Just got me thinking because on another thread I posted that I couldn't think of any reason why the forums were VIP only at any point, and now I can! They probably didn't want all the dissenting voices. -
No.
Please don't make it any more complicated. They already have 2 different stats that increase your ability to hit something (Accuracy and tohit) for no reason I can think of.
They need to balance it out by letting us get some resists through IO's and then no toon will only be relying on only one thing to survive. Then things like this won't mean doom for defence toons.
And actually resist toons badly effected to, because they go from being hit 50% of the time to 90% of the time! -
Quote:You aren't.Here's my problem -- *I* don't know this stuff, so if the person putting together the Lambda trial doesn't know it, I either don't know enough not to join the trial, or I don't know enough to start my own instead.
It's almost supremely ironic that the generally proposed fix for not having enough trials, TFs, and the like running on a server is to take the initiative and start one yourself, yet if you do that without having an idea of how the trial, TF, or what-have-you is supposed to run, you're contributing to the problem of clueless, "stupid" leaders.
This double-standard is exactly why I avoid running trials and task forces in CoX at nearly all cost, and I'd be willing to bet I'm not the only one who feels that way.

Pauper
Until incarnates was released even the most clueless noob could form a team and lead it effectively enough. That got changed for some reason best known to someone that clearly isn't me. -
Quote:I think part of the problem was that in it's initial form (IIRC) the bonus' weren't that great, so it didn't seem worth that endurance cost. If the bonus' started at they are now most people would probably have welcomed it.i actually never considered .5 end/sec really heavy compared to many other powers that we have which use double that base
The real reason it became a click though was because some builds would have been able to run it without a second thought which they felt was against their goal, but the people who mentioned that were given a lot of backup by those who didn't like the end cost (And I should state that initially I was one of those, but I expected it to be reduced and not completely changed!). -
I wish there was an option to keep Destiny perma at its weakest level.

Quote:Which while at work I can't listen to because my PC has no sound. I could also be deaf.'hunt for information'? They put the recording up almost right away after it's done.
I hate when sites put up interviews or whatnot in video format etc, I read on the internet, watch on tv, and listen on the radio. Alternate formats are great, but don't neglect the original one. -
Quote:I still don't understand why a blast AT has powerful melee attacks. They were also the kings of melee damage, because 'blappers' were far more effective dishing out damage than scrappers were, to the point where some friends I played with were openly questioning why the scrapper AT even existed.
Either those attacks are the best attacks, which encourages melee and defeats the point of being ranged, or they aren't as good as the ranged attacks and are wasted.
Any melee powers should be defense only, something like Divine Avalanche/Parry. But we will never see that happen. -

Quote:When I first saw the end cost of the toggle I didn't like it, but would have much preferred it to what we have now. Though I agree it was unfair on the builds that are tight on endurance, but with a numbers tweak it could have let people drop both Tough and Weave, so wasn't as bad as it seemed.i remember that, and i gave my feedback saying i liked it that way and it was fine
then they changed it and every post i made about hybrid since then has been nothing but my dislike for it, they took a perfectly good power and gutted it for no reason really -

Quote:I never said there wasn't low-mid level content, but previously any content was accessible by any character of any level. It isn't the case now so to experience all content you have to get to 50, and if you want to experience it before it degenerates into a grind that people only take their alts through now and again you have to hit 50 quickly. There has been plenty of lower to mid level content added that has nothing to do with Incarnates.
1 or 2 iTrials per issue along with all of the other content isn't a majority of the focus.
Before incarnates you really could enjoy the journey, because once you hit 50 you would be doing the same stuff again anyway, on the same toon or an alt. Now once you hit 50 you get to play the rest of the game, which is just like all the other games out there. WoW has low-mid level content, but it doesn't reward you like the high level content which is why people rush towards it. CoX has now shifted it's reward focus to the same model.
Edit: Before incarnates I could pretty much shout up on the channels any time of day for a TF or group and get replies, now if it is not a trial most people are not interested because it doesn't help them progress their characters. -
Quote:Because the majority of the focus of new content is incarnate related, which requires you to get to 50 in order to participate. And it is only going to get worse as more content is stacked on.You mean, go back to today? That seems odd.
How is it -not- true anymore?
It doesn't even use the wonderful exemplar system that is the one thing this game had over every other MMO out there. -
I didn't think this would still be going, but this is my point.
When is it a good idea to plan something that affects the customer base of any company where a single member of staff has to be awake at midnight to do something from home?
Not only does it mean that staff member has to get overtime or work for free, but it leaves a single point of failure and was 100% guaranteed to have to change at some point. A good decision is one that doesn't require reversing because of such a forseeable reason. And people that can't make good decision shouldn't be making decisions that directly affect customers no matter how insignificant that effect may be.
I accept this is a very insignificant thing, but I have never said otherwise (And again I don't care when this is done since I don't use the market, I just felt like making a point which people for some reason disagreed with). But you people sound like the sun shines out of the dev's collective holes and this wasn't a mistake but part of a genius masterplan. I have serious issues with people who don't think it is worth pointing out faults, because if nobody mentions a poor decision then the people making the decisions will never learn (And pointing out an insignificant but poor decision is much better than waiting until this person makes a large mess of something). -
-
Quote:Sometimes it is better to admit mistakes and then the customer base start to trust the developers rather than fear what is coming next.My guess is the investment done and the losing face by admiting mistakes in managements eyes were bigger problems than losing players and eventually going to be closed. Aftr all they can always make more games or move onto another genre of games or they can try to get new players with advertisement (which SWG tried and failed)
I see an awful lot of posts about people waiting on a beta to see if the next issue is worth coming back for and that shows that people don't expect too much anymore.
I would also compare incarnates with CU and NGE because the whole game has changed based on a perception that the change would improve the game, which in many ways it might have done (For both SWG and CoX) but the players liked what they used to have and the games are too long in the tooth to attract the new type of gamers to the new content.
I really fear that the devs are trying hard to extract every last penny out of the few people willing to spend it rather than rectifying the mistakes that seem to be driving people away in the first place. -
I have a now standard rant about how the community team should actually be doing this type of thing so those of us unable to access the offsite media shouldn't have to go digging for information.

Since I can't even find the suggestion forum then anyone else can feel free to steal this and post it wherever it may get seen.
