  1. He/She is saying this would be an instanced mission.
  2. There will be a Hero Tutorial, That ends with you in Paragon, A Villain Tutorial, that ends with you in the Rogue Isles and a Praetorian Tutorial that ends with you In Praetoria,

Though I DO recall Posi mentioning something in regards to the tutorials in an interview somewhere, just to fan the flames.

    too bad I don't RP.
C'monnnn, you should try it some time! that'd be the Perfect character concept for us!

anyway, so we have two blasters, a Scrapper, and a Tanker.

Good enough time to start setting some things in stone.

Check the Updated OP For Details!

If this is an issue then I may be persuaded to roll something else in the meantime, but again, I'd rather just use the SSK system to use Mask either way.

EDIT: And Starflier you know you cant resist the allure of a new static team with a definitive theme...
Oh, of course, I was going to suggest the same thing for Officer Howard, but he went and made Stripper cop, and She's cool as well, so there it is.
  5. My Wednsday is taken, But my thursday is free. Swtich? please?

We'd Decide on the best time to meet up as a group, so everyone can get on together.
  8. What a coincidence, I love it as well!

Edit: By my count, we have four characters now:
    1. Ethan Washington(Detective Ethan): Natural origin: Blaster: Dual Pistols/Mental Maniplation
    2. Captain Mask: Science Origin:Tanker: Sheild Defense/Super Strength
    3. Officer Howard:Werewolf Origin:Werewolf:Werewolf Powers/More Werewolf Powers.
    4. Emerald Sleuth: Natural Origin:Crazy Guy: Dedication/Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

    new power set ?

The Praetorian cops all seem to have unique versions of the various "energy" power sets. Praetorian Cops have a cool version of energy melee that I'd love to be able to use.
  10. Both of those are EXACTLY the kind of thing I'm talking about. If you want, you could, instead of re-rolling them, Roll an alternate version of them.... Just a thought.
  11. imagine if you could unlock MORE combos for Dua Blades just by doing a certain mission. The entire construction of many builds would change.

Everybody's a bit psychic, it's all a matter of training and natural talent. Think of being a psychic like being a Martial Artist, the best Martial artists and athletes can do things most of us think are impossible, but they're talented, and dedicated enough to make it work.

I always knew I had the talent, but I never had much training.
My grandma used to encourage me to feel things, but that didn't do much. It DID help to nurture it, and I guess that helped it survive all the way into my adulthood,so I thank her every day for that. You guys know my story, though.

I was just a regular Joe for quite a while, a regular Joe with fantastic hunches, but a regular beat cop nonetheless. When they Formed PSI Division a while back, They finally picked up on my skills, and well, that's when the training started. I can't tell you how much time I spent staring at all kinds of dumb stuff and trying to hear other people's stupid thoughts, but here I am now.

Of course, Bochco wasn't about to lose one of his best street officers to PSI's investigations department. So, I became a sort of... Psychic Street Detective... stop snickering, it's fantastic, I get to keep doing real detective work, but I also get directly involved in the super stuff.

So that's me, and before we dive into each of you, I'm going to tell you why I rounded you guys up:

I'm at my desk, finishing up for the day and getting ready to go, when I get a call in from Ol' Bochie.

    So I'm thinking:

” What did I do this time? I gave that one guy a light stroke, but it wasn't that bad, and no one complained, well, he couldn't what with the stroke n'all, but even so, that shouldn't be enough to get me in trouble, maybe it's something good for once.”

So I knock and let myself in, and Bochie's in his chair, looking over some paperwork, all serious. I sit down, he smiles( I KNOW this is gonna be bad) and he looks up at me, with that friendly, “I'm your boss and I'm telling you some crap I'm happy about but we both know you're not” looks.

So he looks at me, and says.

“ You liking that new position we made for you?”

I nod, Smile big, lots of smiling in this conversation by the way,

“oh yes sir, it's almost like being a superhero, But, you know, with better outfits, hehe”

Yeah I know, cheesy, but what'reya gonna do?

So he nods and starts into his pitch.

“Well, you, and Blue Steel have been doing a heck of a job out there, not just with your work, but with your effect, people are starting to look at us as supers in our own right, it's not cops, AND Heroes anymores, it's cops OR heroes, we're on equal footing, and it's not just PSI and the Hardsuits and the Kheldians.”

I know where this is going, without even peeking in his head, but there are just some questions you gotta ask in these conversations, you know?

    “ What do you mean”

He sighs, drops his shoulders and looks at me again, smile's gone now

“Heroes have a different... effect on the people, the criminals and the civilians, than we do, that's something we just couldn't touch.. at least that's how it used to be, Blue Steel has that effect, and he's undeniably a cop, and, you might know this, but you do, you're on the streets like a regular cop, but you're using powers and training and weaponry that makes you super. You don't have to call in back up from a different division and plunk away with your six shooter, you can handle it right there. that makes people feel good, and scares the crooks"

"Closest thing we have are the Specialized divisions, but we can't have them running all over the place, there's just not enough of em. We do have some people, Specialists, gifted guys like you, who can walk that line between regular cops and military superhuman might that heroes walk, here in the PPD, I want you to get some of them together, Form a team, and you're gonna do hero work, real hero work, you'll patrol the streets, you'll fight the monsters, topple the super villains, and you'll do it the way heroes do it”

You'll all be happy I asked this next question

    “ So, no paperwork?”

Biiiig laugh from the chief for that one

“HAH! Hell yeah boy, you've got the right idea, so, It'll be you and your team, we'll bring in Blue Steel when we can, but most of the time it'll just be you kids, this is on an experimental basis, things go wrong, it's over, so, are you in?”

Strange thing is, I actually LOVED what he told me, guess I'm weird like that, I told him I'd do it, but only if the team would agree to it, So, we're all here, to be more than cops and more than heroes, you in, or you going back to the office?
So the Basic premise is a Role Playing Static Team that's the equivalent of a whole squad of would-be Blue Steels, Full-blown superheroes sanctioned and deputized by the PPD, and pulled from their very ranks, but still acting independantly. Half Publicity stunt, half geniuine experiment, we'll be designed to see just how far into the confusing world of super-heroes Cops can go before becoming them.

Think of it like Superhero/ines, but with cop uniforms(Variations of them at least)

    Requirements:

    Regular Meeting Place:

We will meet at the Paragon Police Department in King's Row, for obvious reasons.

    Operating Procedure:

Each week, We'll take a different member's story arc from one of their contacts. Things will stay fresh as they're switched up, as well as feeling more "Hero Team" than "Cop Team" and noone will have to worry about "keeping up" story wise.

It also allows for each character to give a bit of their own story as we progress as a group.

After running through a story arc from four players, we'll run either a Task force of our choice, or a particular Player's created Story Arc

This would mean that you might have to log in from time to time to get this or that mish from one of your contacts on off days, let me know, and I'll be happy to take over if you don't have anything, or could'nt get on wit your character during the week, and We'll run one of Detective Ethan's(mine) this WILL count as your turn for the round, though.

    Play Time:

Time spent in-game will be divided three ways

    20 Minute Mandatory RP Time:

Before each run, I'd like to take about twenty minutes, (I'll probably be on a bit earlier) Of "sitting Around talking" Time as both a "De-briefing" segment, and to build up anything that anyone might have brewing as far as personal character development-wise and such.

    Two Hours of Play time

Two hours of... Well, play time. Two hours of running whatever the person "Holding the torch" for the current week has. If you don't have any major arcs that might last Two hours set up, Two Minor ones would be just fine.

    Thirty-Minutes Of Optional RP/hang-out time:

Obviously, the base is thirty minutes, but individual character interactions might run long, so just take this as a suggestion. It's optional, noone is forced to kick around any longer than they wish to, but obviously a team of people should get along, so either IC or OOC, I'd like it if everyone could spend some time together to either play out a story they'd like to expand on, or just get to know each other better.

    Meeting Time:

Once a Week Is the plan, anything else is'nt really set.

I don't personally have a particular meeting time set up. I would like something earlier in the afternoon, so people could play, log, then go about their business for the night IRL. Anything during the Week is absolutely fine as far as I'm concerned. I'd also like to establish a "regular" day and a "Back-up" day in case the normal time doesn't work out due to some catastrophe, we can still go by without skipping a week on the back-up day.

I plan to get started in two weeks at the latest, and by next week if things go much quicker.

    Player Spots/Recruitment:

I'll be recruiting until the team is full, and when spots open up, I'll announce them, either here, or, more likely, with a new thread.

    Characters:

Origins: Can be anything that suits you, but your character needs to be based on the PPD, an officer, liason, operative, undercover cop, We're all cops with gifts or special talents here.

ATs: No requirements, but it wooooould be nice to have maybe one sheild/mace tank and a kheldian, hint hint hint.

  15. Bella Marus is a wealthy philanthropist who enjoys life and a good prank every now and then. One day she paid a visit to one of the many medical laboratories she donated to, one that was taking a chemical approach to brain cancer.

An act of industrial espionage dunked her into a tank of experimental brain-enhancing drugs, expanding her mind's abilities far beyond normal human capacity. And dyeing her hair bright white.

Bella took it all in stride. She got up, cleaned herself off, and walked away. over the next few months she realized her burgeoning abilities. Of course, she used it to screw with people's heads, for awhile.

It was only after she realized that all of the research done on the chemicals her body absorbed were lost in the explosion. That all the good it would have done had went into her, that she Dedicated herself to putting it to work for the good of people everywhere.

and Thus was the Mind Sorcerer born

    Dear [RP Virtue]

In other words, it's not nice to be a jerk, and Lisar agrees.
  18. As for super strength, Consider whether you're making someone with "Spider-man" super strength, where she pales in comparison to even Luke Cage in terms of lifting power, and it's not the primary power, or "Luke Cage" Super strength, where the strength is the Primary.
As for your Invulv/Willpower issue, I'd go fo Invuln, it's about the defense and not getting hurt, whereas Willpower is about getting hurt but not caring. Plus, Willpower's willpower, it's about will, being made of special stuff negates will. Invulnerability is more vague, you could be made of special stuff, might have tricks to keep things from hitting you, who knows. Willpower is conceptually limiting(but I love it for the concepts it works ofr! :P) whereas invulnerability is the purposefully "one size fits all" power.
  19. How's she look?
Empathy/Psy Defender, Science origin, Lots of purple,(don't know why)

She's Rather tall, and has a good sense of humor, she also does'nt currently have a name, working on it. Is full-on psychic, obviously got her powers(and hair color) in a classic Comic-Book science accident.
  20. Goes without saying, :P will come up with a sem-decent concept tonight, and we can figure out how she gets in to the group.
  21. dude, Blade was Awesome, s'wrong with you?
/e points daywalker sword at you.
  22. hmmm, might be interested, never played a Defender before.
