yeah dunno what was up with mine, internet connection was fine but kept saying lost connection to DB server.
10 mins later it let me on. -
Hey guys have servers gone down randomly?
Just trying to connect at minute and 4 times ive tried including once resetting the game and on eerver selection it wont go the charecter screen on union, its saying lost conneciton to DB server. -
Just to add to my last post, what about another type of system, where you could add an elemental type to your ammo in it?
For instance when you get up to a certain point you could choose one element to power your ammo with, it would be chosen from a menu like with veteran rewards and award a clicky that adds damage of that type to your attack for a certain time peroid. Like if i chose fire ammo for instance, to would shoot small firey rounds at the target, doing fire damage and maybe have a chance to burn, where as if i picked ice, icicle type bullets would fire and have a chance to slow.
The only way to change your selected element once chosen would be to do a respec to stop people linking various elements together and do a godmode style
I think it would make a nice change to a bog standard lethal only damage or a combo system. -
I agree alvan, but im not sure a duel blades style combo system would be good either, in my opinion combos werent such a good idea because it forced you to get all the powers in the set just so you could do certain combos, and due to that there was a lack of damage from the set.
Whilst it was a good idea on paper, i dont particularly think it worked right in game. -
The reason i ask is because I already have a granite, an invul and a shield tank on 50.
Whilst knowing fire is more offence than defence which personally i think as a PvE tank it isnt really suited. If your soloing or pvping though its a different story.
Dark has more resists which is makes up for with endurence drain but willpower has regen as well as a good balance of resists, whilst the resists arent as high as dark i was wanting to know how much of a difference the regen made really in a combat situation.
As I currently understand it would be as sinergy_x said, dark would last longer with lesser enemies whilst because of rise to the challenge on willpower the regen would go up a lot when more mobs are involved.
Im guessing thats how it is?
Either way they are both very strong defencive sets, granted dark is more offence than willpower but again, the endurence costs make up for it where as willpower has quick recovery. -
can you stop the attempted flaming please and keep it on topic. Its not a suggestion we already have covered this.

I play other games for skill-intensive pvp allright. Counterstrike or any other kind of shooter is not among them though.
What bugs me to no small degree is that this game USED to have ok PVP, but then IOs were introduced and it turned into WoW.
I am vocal because this game has nothing left to offer except what is left of pvp. It was my first MMO, I would like to hang around. But I cannot tolerate PvE anymore.
If you dont want me around then fine.
edit: accounts cancelled.

Hammer, to be honest, you're just annoyed that people who put more effort/time in to the game end up with a better build than you.
It's not much different from someone at level 40 whining because a level 50 has 4 more powers and 21 odd more slots.
[/ QUOTE ]
That is why I play games without level progression.
I got better things to do in my life than waste countless hours of boring and repetitive WORK just so I could get a CHANCE to play PVP.
[/ QUOTE ]
if thats the case then why are you playing MMORPG's in the first place? if you want instant pvp then you should try a game like a first person shooter or a third person shooter rather than an RPG based game which has always been based on levels and skills.
Attempting to change that changes everything an RPG is. -

IO's are earned, be it through farming, playing the markets or simply ploughing through taskforces.
They're *in the game* ... why penalise those that spent the time to get them?
It's like telling a formula one driver "sorry, we're going to a wheel off now. You've gotten quite good at this driving malarky now and we want to level the playing field again"
[/ QUOTE ]
Point is they have to be GRINDED. GRIND GRIND GRIND.
giving a big advantage to those people willing to do it will put people like me who cant be bothered with it off the game.
By not penalising those that spent the time to get them youre penalising everybody else. Its either or.
[/ QUOTE ]
The thing is, IO sets are one of the few end game contents we actually have at the minute.
The fact you need to grind to get them just makes the game last that bit longer, now merits are in it also gives you a reason to experience TF's instead of just farming.
Why release content which we really need at the minute then negate it a couple of issues later when people have spent a lot of cash and time on them in an attempt to make everyone the same?
Thats like expecting to play a level 1 charecter and expecting to fight equally with a level 50 because you couldnt be bothered to level. IO sets are much the same, if you cant be bothered to work and earn them, then you shouldnt be complaining that you arent as good as someone who put in the effort to get them.
If you spent a lot of time getting to level 50 then surely a little bit more of a grind wouldnt be gamebreaking. If anything IOs are a lot easier because you dont need to spend ages at once getting all 6 slots in one go, you can get them one at a time whilst your doing the PvE stuff.
If you want to PvP, then the arena with the dimishing returns feature on should be where its done, not through zones where your punishing people who want some form of reward for there time and effort. -
ahh sorry i didnt see it had been mentioned before.

I really like Mechaneirist's costume, the head design is particularly cool
-
Ok guys as the post title suggests, which tanker primary is defencively the better choice, dark or willpower?
The arguement i have is that whilst dark has more resists, Willpower has regen.
So defencively speaking, if i were to stand in a mob and do nothing, which one out of these two would die first?
This is including all toggles but not clickys like stremgth of will. -
It is annoying though when your weapons just disappear randomly if you leave them too long.
Whilst it isnt a game breaking issue, i find it very annoying for items to just fade out, where as this wouldnt be technically hard to achieve since its already been done in a similar way with shields and would make the whole game experience slightly more realistic.
The bonus to this is if they ever released sheaths they could change the weapon draw animation per costume piece, kind of like how talsorian shield works now. When you have talsorian shield at the minute, it plays an animation of it activating.
With that costume piece active, whenever your weapon draws it could be drawn from the sheath, and there could be a few different styles of sheath so so weapons can be drawn from different areas. Now the problem with this is it would be very tricky to get the animation times to match each other to prevent one style from being technically very slightly better than the other because of the draw time, but if the power doesnt deactivate whilst using attacks from the same set there wouldnt be much of an issue because the draw times wouldnt be massively far apart anyway, we are talking about a half second max difference.
For instance, a samurai would draw a weapon much like a katana from his/her side from a sheath, where as a barbarian would draw it from the back but could also draw from the side from a different style sheath and a kunoichi could draw from her lower back.
The bonus to this is you could have the sheaths award a different drawstyle and combat stance depending on the style chosen through the power, purely cosmetic of course. It could be done instead with one toggle for stance that deactivates in combat, and making the draw animation come with the sheath.
The stance could also be done via emote awarded when the costume piece is on if movement animations become an issue.
Whilst granted this isnt a 100% nesessary suggestion, it would give a much better feel to playing a weapons style charecter. -
Simple idea, now shields has been released and its been made possible to effectively keep items out permenantly if its in toggle form, why not make a basic toggle thats awarded to all weapons charecters on creation that has no endurence cost and 1 second recharge that has no effects but draws your weapon?
It could be named 'Draw -Weapon Name-' and if would stop it disappearing every 10 seconds or so. As a precaution this power could detoggle everytime an ability is used that isnt in the weapons attack set so you dont get someone for instance with a corrupter using Assault Rifle/Trick Arrows having a problem with drawing two weapons at once and you dont have clipping animation issues when trying to use another power that looks like your doing a kamikaze.
For the issue with two powers like again Assualt Rifle/Trick Arrow, then you have two toggles, each detoggle the other one so you either have one or the other.
The idea is purely for cosmetic reasons such as costume contests and would not have any effect on combat whatsoever.
It shouldnt be used in combat so the issue of constant detoggling would not be a problem since its just cosmetic anyway. -

From what your saying this would require a lot of image files that would increase the size of the game for no needed reason, you would have to have something like red_healingaura and green etc, but if it was to be coded in it would know how to change the colour of the effect without needing any extra image files.
I believe this is why it would take so long to do, it would require a lot of re-doing graphics just to beheld to colourise the power in the Character Editor.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes it would need a hell of a lot of image files, but these could be stored like a .pigg file just specifically for it or whichever files the mod currently uses, then add the option to switch between them on costume creator by just picking a colour, which selects that file, which in turn effectively 'overwrites' the current information stored server side for that charecter.
It would be a long way around it compared to simply changing it server side but i think it should be possible.
Im not going to pretend im very good programming wise, i know the basics but generally this seems the logical thing to me rather than remaking every power in game with a different colour server side because its hardcoded into it.
Also mission architect is likely to increase the size of the files by a fairly large amount i would have thought but thats going ahead anyway.
Definately if they could code it server side it would be a lot better but since they said they cant do that easily i think my idea sounds like a possibility. -
I have the same issue as you, my PB is also sitting at 39, but i know the reason for mine, the fact is i play human form PB a lot, but a melee based charecter that gets stopped in seconds with any form of status effect is unplayable in my opinion.
As it stands if you want to fight as PB you cant really do much solo which is intended, but even in a team all your damage comes from melee attacks, and without light form which is on a massive timer with a massive drop your sitting duck for any form of mez that comes your way.
Yes you can switch to dwarf form whilst mezzed now but that isnt really helping, because the second you switch back your mezzed again.
Its basically forcing you to play dwarf or nova which both forms can easily be outclassed by another similar AT. Now i hear people say 'yes but you have adaptability' whats the point of being able to adapt if you are a lot worse at both sides than you would be if you played blaster rather than nova, or tanker rather than dwarf?
4 attacks each side and not able to get more seems a kinda pointless way to push people to play.
I really like the concept of PB but despite all the changes it still really feels like a broken AT. -
They do indeed rock, but you have also got to remember the ungodly amount of endurence drain that dark has and the amount of slotting needed to counter the drain.
Within the set there is almost enough endurence cost to completly negate stamina and then you got your attacks to worry about on top of that.
Defencively Dark set is sound, but if you plan to do some attacking higher level your better with another set. -
I agree with that Scarlet, but as mentioned before voting of what ideas we think are better than the others at least gives them the idea of what we as a customer would like to see in the majority.
I realise there not going to copy the sets power for power but if they have an overwhelming approval for a certain idea they would at least take a mental note whilst creating there own version. -

i feel for your friend, im actually going to change away from paypal, theres just too much trouble with it, at least with bank to bank surely they cant have anything go wrong. saying that they cant Verify a cash deposit into their bank after 16 days!!.. even though i have sent them proof of the payment!?!?
[/ QUOTE ]
The thing is though at least with paypal you have an electronic means of proof for them to track and they cant really 'lose' the info because you will always have a copy in your paypal invoice.
Where as if your doing a direct bank transfer you have there number to go by and thats it, if for some reason they deny payment you have no proof otherwise unless you send your bank statement which would take a lot longer.
Plus with paypal if anything goes wrong and you dont get a response from the rubbish customer service then you can at least put in a claim through paypal to get your money back where as with a bank you cant really. -

The time when our input will actually make a diffrence, is when they are beta testing dual pistol set. The devs are infinitaly better at balancing out the sets than we are. Castle has shown that they are indeed willing to listen to us on ideas and such.
[/ QUOTE ]
What like they have listened to our thoughts about shields and the endurence cost of mastermind upgrade changes since test?
Every issue ive seen has had only very slight changes since been in test and 90% of the bugs still remain on live so why not get there train of thought the same as ours from the begining of the plan rather than trying to change there mind after they have spent ages working on it?
Although technically the post is a group of suggestions it is more like a summary to see which is the better idea so if in the off chance some red name does come past the post they know generally what we would like to see within the set.
Thats why its a vote, not a suggestion and therefore would be in wrong forum had it been in suggestions. -

Yeah, but I believe those mods are only client side. YOU get to see purple Rad blasts, everybody else around you still sees green. Changing the powers in-game is much harder, because they have said that the colour is actually coded into the power.
[/ QUOTE ]
If its coded into it then surely its possible to get an overwriting code that works similar to the mods and basically code it so that everytime it fires, its coded to follow the same rule as your personal view does.
This sounds a little complicated here so il break it down, if i use power blast for instance and its set to work on a purple blast, the code could be changed so that the colour you have chosen client side effectively overwrites the original for your charecter server side, i mean surely it cant be hardcoded indefinately if it works client side. Thats already half the battle. -

What about leveling the field somewhat? I guess that would be unthinkable because ALL MASTERMINDS ARE GODS, right? Thus parity within the AT is out of the question, since we can't mess with the established pantheon.
[/ QUOTE ]Please point out one example of where I've ever said this (except for the all MMs being good part). It's obvious that Thugs is one giant leap above the other primaries. This became even more obvious in i13 where Thugs is the only MM Primary that can slot the Recharge Intensive Pets unique pet aura IOs, and thus double stack the 5% defense and 10% resistance IOs.
Way back when I made him, I didn't know this, though.
Still, I've never said the other primaries shouldn't be buffed a bit to catch up. You're just blowing it all out of proportion by implying that a team wouldn't notice the difference whether or not their Mercs MM is actively fighting or AFK at the door, whereas Thugs could probably solo the LRSF (exaggeration there for illustrative purposes, but that's the general tone your posts give off).
Do a little search and you'll see several suggestions from me on how to improve Mercs. Never have I said that Thugs should remain -the- choice of MM primary. But removing Thugs from the comparison table, Mercs isn't nearly as bad as you're making it sound. In most situations, Ninjas would be worse, especially in the hands of an inexperienced player. And yet, all the MM primaries can perform the typical MM accomplishments, such as soloing AVs without too much trouble, among other things. On a team, the primaries are even more balanced, except for Robotics which has silly amounts of knockback.
Heck, leaving Thugs on the comparison table, you could say all other primaries are useless. But comparing MMs in general to other ATs, they all do their job. Thugs just do it better than the others in most if not all aspects, whereas the rest of them all have their distinct weaknesses. You think equally experienced people don't whine about Ninjas, Necromancy? Low-tier melee pets getting oneshotted by being sneezed at, compared to the pure-ranged Mercs which are naturally safer, and can actually DPS more efficiently since they don't need to run. Grave Knights pretending to be Blasters unless you have them on a GoTo leash at all times. Ninjas having no initial debuff/control volley (not counting Oni's single target Hold, lol) or an agro soaker to add survivability to their nonexistant Defense values.
I could go on. If there's any MM primary food chain, it pretty much consists of only three tiers. Thugs, Robotics (not in my opinion, but...) and the others - Mercs, Zombies, Ninjas. Other people seem mostly happy with Robotics, though I'd say they could use a lower-level offense boost. But the remaining three could certainly use a boost to bring them up to the standards set by the two favorites.
Which still doesn't make them any less capable of doing the job of an MM primary properly, unless the persn in question is playing Ninjas as their first MM ever.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree with that, but rather than nerfing thugs, i think the other way you could go around it would be better by buffing the other sets slightly.
For example, Ninjas you stated have no control except for the Oni's single target hold, this issue could be solved by giving Genin the power entangling arrow, which yes is a single target immob but it wont overpower them and the speed it fires makes it practical.
Grave knight issues can be solved by granting them slightly more hp and resists but in return to balance this change zombies lose hp and resists slightly. Think about how it works in films/games/books etc, you get a basic zombie whos tough if its near you, but goes down easily, but then you get a 'boss' style zombie who is a complete *BEEP* to kill and since you have to focus fire on him to take him down, the other lesser zombies get close enough to hit too. Left 4 dead anyone?
Robotics is a simple case of lowering the knockback magnitude, they already deal energy damage from range which isnt resisted much anyway, but if this proved to make them underpowered, they should get more resists to smash and lethal, i mean there big armored robots, a gun isnt going to take one down easily or maybe some defence because bullets bounce off big robots in films etc. -
I think personally mercenaries do need a bit of a change. Thugs outclassing a trained soldier is a bit wrong, im not saying make mercs do more than thugs but it should be changed in there style a bit.
Heres the changes i think it should go like:
Possibly make them so they have armor slightly less than robotics but greater than the other types because of body armor as used by military, not defence but resists.
Armed soldiers dont focus on slowly killing someone, they focus on stopping enemys as quickly as possible through suppression fire, which granted is how they work now, but unlike thugs soldiers have had intense training with there weapons so there likely to be more proficient with them, so my suggestion would be a very small chance per soldier to critical strike, like a headshot, or if this proves to be too big a change, then commando only gets a chance to crit.
Of course either of these ideas are only that and it would be a case of either/or instead of both. -
Also you could try putting in a claim on your payment from paypal in worst case scenario, but i recommend emailing ghostraptor@plaync.com.
He is a lot of help with issues customer service decide to ignore.
