Quote:judging by the response here, that's probably what i'm going to end up doingWell if you see holes in information in other posts when not collect those and post them in here for us. Not sure why you can't post as replies but if you think you've got something new to add the reason there is no question is probably because no one is looking. Go ahead and just share what you have.
Quote:Animated hair doesn't have to be cape hair. It could just be animated, like it is in something like WoW, or even Neverwinter Nights. Or, hell, like in Aion. What WoW has is a few animations for hair, or a pony tail as I've seen. You have it wave while you run and trail as you fall. I don't think we need special animations while we fight, even if I wouldn't refuse to have those. What I saw in Aion, on the other hand, was curly locks that only really trailed a bit, and short hair that sort of just wobbled. Attaching a cape system to the head is actually a pretty bad idea, as it creates and uncouth mop glued to the head, ala Ghost widow.
Quote:]OK, question:
Given the normal palette of colours we can choose from for normal costume pieces, am I correct to say the following:
We are given full range of hue (0-240), with the rest of each row split in half. First half is the colour's hue, 240 saturation and luminance going from 240 to 120, with the second half having the colour go from the colour's hue, 120 Luminance and saturation going from 240 to 0.
As I see it, our colour rows basically trace the colour circle, and go from pure black, to a vivid colour, then back down to a bright pale colour after the mid point, ending in what is almost grey. That's the best I can approximate without actually diving into the data, and given that our colours are still saved in RGB, wouldn't be trivial to tell. -
Completely....there seems to be a lot of questions referring to the costume creator floating around out there. A lot of them i find myself with an answer to but no real reply to the actual post. You'd be surprised how much information lies in a saved costume file. This is my way of trying to answer those questions. If you don't believe me or think this is just a big joke, feel free click something else.
Edit: Really, this isn't me trying to show off how much i know or anything like that. I always like learning something new about this game, especially when I have questions, and now that I have some area of this game that I'm knowledgeable in, I'm doing the same for others. -
Hey everyone, my goal with this thread is to help everyone better understand the costume creator as it currently is, with all its potential and limitations. Basically how this works, you ask a question about it, and I will try to answer it, if I can't, someone else who actually knows is welcome to step up.
Now, I bet you're wondering, what makes me so special? Well, I have spent an extensive amount of time working with costume files, tweaking them and viewing the results in the load costume screen so as to get a better understanding of the system. As a result, I have a pretty good idea as to the inner workings.
I'll start things off with a demo question that seems pretty popular:
"Why can't we have animated hair?"
Basically, animated hair is a cape. It functions and is treated the same way as one anyways. As a result, the amount of hairstyles in the game that would be compatible with this are severely limited. Also, because this is a cape, any non-moving parts would have to be saved as a separate part in the costume file. As a result, this would look funny on a lot of hairstyles. The final reason, is because of the character budget, we wouldn't be able to have capes and moving hair. A lot of people wouldn't mind, but I'm sure the devs don't want to listen to people complaining because they can't have both.
So there ya go, fire away. -
Crabsterminds are a very tough build to get right, but I pulled it off on my crab and he can solo x5 mobs.

To preface my post, the devs are always coming up with amazing stuff that blows us away. GR looks to be no exception. However, the devs are notorious for getting us hyped up over something virtually useless. In this case, it is absolutely ridiculous. They hype us up for GR, make us wait months and then release one screenie. This screenie being of a character in a group we are told we can join. And yet it's our fault when after all this, we assume we can get the costume parts?!? What were we supposed to say? "Wow, that NPC looks amazing, I can't wait to go stare at him?" I'm sorry devs, you guys have done so much to keep me coming back, but this makes me start to question. In the future, please try to be more specific at the very least.

Hey all, I'm starting my first fan video, and I'm trying to find a particular map. My searching skills may just be weak, but I can't seem to find it in the codex. Soooo....does anyone know the map name for the final mission of the STF, grandville with the hero boat out front?
Thanks -
Wow, can't believe I forgot

Alright, so I've finally gotten around to taking some new screenshots. These are of the pool room "Club Fuz" named after one of our members. Check it out, tell me what you think. (I'll use links this time for convenience.)

I needed a name for Diablo 2. I personally couldn't think of anything good for my name. My step brother decides that Pwn You Noobs has a nice ring to it. He decided to change the You to U, either to make it easier to get the name or for a simpler name. Unfortunately for me, he didn't know how to spell pwn, so I became PownUnoobs. Despite the fact that I tend to be more of a noob myself and am not much for pvp, it stuck.

Figure it's about time I did a post here. I'm a junior at a high school located somewhere in new england. I'm a big digital media and langauge lover (one may become my career, i dunno)> I also play soccer, although I'm absolutely terrible at it. I'm on facebook, I'll tell ya which one I am if you add me. http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/N...su?ref=profile

This was very funny, because fusionette said it about my toon, who is a genetically altered pig.

Thanks for taking the time to go over this. A lot of parts I do agree with you. The glass on the bottom layer did originally line up, but I moved them to fix the clipping. This is the same reason the observatory has spaces. Now that I know how to fix the clipping, I"m going to fix this. Not quite sure what to do with the TV wall, but I think you're right. As for the spike ring, I have no real attachment to it, so its as good as gone. The ceiling tiles definitely need work, I've just been trying so many different ways to fix the clipping. Definitely going to have to try the banners.

Hey all. I'm new to base building, and I wanted to show off what I've done so far so I can get feedback. This is the base for Showtime's villainside group on Champion. I have four rooms done, see below, and I'll keep posting new screenshots as the base progresses. The base doesn't really follow a theme as a whole, each room has its own. I would really appreciate any constructive feedback, good or bad.
Thanks and enjoy.
Entrance
This was my first foray into post i13 base building. My only real goal here was to create a modernish two story room. I'm relatively happy with the results.
A view of the room
The TV wall
Inside the lower level
Inside the upper level
Teleporter room
This was the next room I did. The theme here is just a general arcane.
A view of the room
A view from one of the teleporters
Another view of the room
Medbay
For my medbay, the goal was to create a simple mini-temple of sorts.
A view from the lower level
A view from the top
Another view from the top. Tried to create a portal in that arch.
Inside the "temple"
Workshop
This is the room I'm most proud of. It started out as a space center, but it ended up as a lab/observatory
A view of the room
The far corner of the room
This was supposed to be a rocket, but it became a radioactive containment unit
The executive office
Inside the control room
A shot of most of the viewing area of the observatory(the idea for this was inspired by Turbo_Starr's moonbase)
A shot of the stars
Another view looking out. Isn't that an amazing satellite?
Thanks for looking -
My noob moment:
I played long and hard on my first toon until I hit lvl 24. At this point I went around broadcasting, looking for a respec trial. Someone told me that the trial was called "Hami." As a result, I went around broadcasting, as a lvl 24 that I was looking to do a hami. -

If you're still up for doing new characters, i'd love to see Lord Porkluse drawn. Either way, thanks
edit: oh yeah, because you were asking about powers and whatnot, he's a pig with stolen crab spider equipment who loves baconizing his enemies -
lacking the cash to get anything better than freeware, i threw this together \/
