Quote:The point, which was hard to miss, is that none of those attacks remove the primacy of melee from a scrapper. No more than having melee attacks in blaster secondaries means Blasters should get War Mace. Pistols are a ranged weapon. You can have Pistol Whip and Point Blank but that changes nothing as far as I am concerned. As for your Ancillaries, Body Mastery has one ranged attack (which I use in my Dark/Dark, as the "get that running fool!" attack). And if you want to create a scrapper whose principal attack chain is Blaze Mastery, have at it.Claws: Focus, Shockwave
Spines: Impale, Throw Spines
Kinetic Melee: Repulsing Torrent, Focused Burst
Blaze Mastery
Body Mastery
-Every other mastery, all of which have ranged attacks in them
So...what was your point again?
Now if they create a pistol scrapper set, I will make one. But again, I would personally rather they work on something else. -
Quote:Cmon guy, surely you see the difference between a handful of short-medium ranged weapons/attacks that are accessory to the melee sets and an entire ranged set, right? I'm not saying they'll never do it because it's not for me to say. But from my perspective, I'd rather them worry about other things than crafting a ranged attack set for melee characters.Yes, I remember 2004, too. I didn't have a driver's licence, a job or a higher education degree then.
Because shuriken and grenades are melee weapons? Because Fire Blast is a melee attack? Have you looked at an Epic/Anchillary/Patron pool lately (as in, since 2005)? -
The problem you will never get around is that pistols are not a melee weapon and scrappers are a melee AT.

As has probably been said in this thread, this is why I am very reluctant to return to AE. Best you can do is write NOT A FARM as many times as you can stand to, but I doubt farmers read very much of the descriptions anyway.

Started the timed, one-hour catch the spymaster mission (during which you can either catch him or let him go) with 58 minutes left and an intention to catch him. The mission kicked me as if the hour had completed. Has anyone else experienced this?

So, any ideas, hypotheses, inklings, or hints?
Suggestions, or theories, or someone's two cents?
No guesses, conjecture, inference, or views?
No divination, opinions, or presumptions? You choose?
I'll take guidance, or counsel; instruction, or tips.
But please, like the other posts, don't leave me with zip. -
Update: I just tried to play again for the first time since posting the above. And again the game crashed. However, this time was different in that rather than fading to black and kicking me out of the game, the crash shut down my entire computer. On restart, I received the following message-

Any help is appreciated. -
Starting yesterday, COH began to crash on me. The crashes came from zoning, entering mission maps and/or within 5 minutes of playing. What happens is, the screen fades to black and I get the spinning circle. Pressing the space bar causes the screen to go solid gray and calls up the a City of Heroes window that says, "City of Heroes is not responding," along with the choice to close the program or wait for it to respond. Then a window opens saying that Windows is trying to find a solution to the problem and finally COH shuts down.
I thought it could be a matter of overcrowding, as yesterday was as busy as I think I have ever seen it, but no, the same thing has been happening this morning with low server populations. The last time I played before yesterday was Saturday and had no problems then. I did nothing to my computer between Saturday and Sunday when the crashes began. Below is my COH Helper info. Please help. It's a long weekend and I was hoping to spend it playing.

I am asking if anyone has the text for Marchand's message at the end of the Mr. Yin/"A Photo for Penny" arc in the Responsibility Arc? Or, at the least, the gist of whatever important information I may have missed from not seeing it all?
-
Sorry, forgot to check back in. Ironblade nailed it. Thanks.
As for the invisibility thing, it seems to have been a one off event, but I'll check back if it happens again. -
Thanks for the answer, but that's what I am saying. The map shows no fire. No nothing flashing.
Now, there was one day when I tried to join a Lusca team. The kid forming it could not find me in the search. I went to IP and I went to the spot the other kid was supposed to be standing, with the both of us communicating the whole time. I could not find him and he could not find me. Lusca was there for both of us and I am positive it was not some weird lag thing or whatever. Neither was there a crowding situation and we were in separate IPs (like IP and IP 2). Everything else worked- missions, contacts, and even a nice spanking from Lusca. Still, I was invisible. Or he was. Sort of like I was in a parallel universe. Or he was. I'm now wondering if I am not experiencing the same thing here? -
I finally decided to get around to the Firefighter Badge on my Badger (50 dark/dark scrap). However, every time I answer a fire alarm in Steel, there is no fire. Is this badge unavailable to 50s? ParagonWiki was silent on the matter and the only reported problem I've seen here with the badge has to do with the progress bar. What am I missing?

For the record, the correct response was:
"Dump everything and clean install Windows 7." -
I am installing to the default folder and am operating Windows XP, sp3.
I was trying to install on-line but dumped everything and made a somewhat successful installation from the DVD. That is, the game installed but my computer froze while the updater was loading version 12.200607 13.3C. This freeze occurred on each of two attempts.
I am concerned that I have not uninstalled everything as COH was not appearing in my add/remove program window. Instead, I found uninstall in the default folder, and ran that but the folder remained. I deleted the folder.
I also note that this problem is the worsening of issues I've been having for three weeks. It started with the game suddenly slowing to a crawl and eventually freezing my computer. That degenerated into the game freezing during the Loading screen. I took my computer into the shop because I had concern that one of my fans had died that may be leading to other hardware issues. Everything checked out fine and this re-installation attempt is my next step, but it is not faring too well. -
I am attempting to re-install my game client but my system is freezing up after about 10-20 minutes of install time. Does anybody have an idea what this might be?
-
Been away a couple days and just heard of the expansion. I have to say that, even for these forums, it seems excessively early for DOOOOM queries.

Also, the second mission is funny, but so awful at the same time with the blinding. It's almost so far out there that I would recommend re-tooling the story a bit in the first and last mission and it would make a great villain arc.
[/ QUOTE ]
But... it's a good blinding. You cannot have a blind superhero movie without a blind superhero, right?Sorry, it's the Bruce Campbell fan in me.
Thanks for playing and I'm glad you had a good time. -
Dang. Oh well, plan B may work better anyway.

In attempting to create an early level villian story arc to partially replace the "snakes, snakes, snakes!" only arcs, I have tried to custom build a Kalinda (the one available is a 45-50 AV that sets the mission to 40+). So, I picked up the Arachnos custom costume pack with tickets. I read the listing as to what is available in the Arachnos custom costume pack but have since forgotten. I am now frustrated to discover that, apparently, all I purchased were Arachnos helmets. Since the unlockables are global, I cannot verify the list of pieces available and the Wiki is silent on the matter.
Will someone please verify for me either a) the Arachnos custom costume pieces set provides access to special helmets only or that b) the Arachnos custom costume pieces set is currently bugged?
[Don't forget to give my arc, shown in my sig, a try. I will play anyone's arc who leave a comment and their arc ID#'s; in-game, I mean, this is not a review thread] -
[ QUOTE ]
I feel dumb, too. Thanks Arnabas for posting the thread. I didn't know I could do this and I lost my 5-digit arc number. Ah well

Dang, me three.
