    Kin/Psi - Powers

They should make somekind of warning system, like: last reaction in this thread is more than 2 weeks old, are you sure you want to post a new message?

Normally I try to not revive threads.

...Also, i regretted taking reduce inertia 10 minutes after having picked it, when i was tired of having to recast it during traveling...

    [/ QUOTE ]
THE solution for travelling with intertial reduction:
    bind z "powexec_name inertial reduction"

This way when inertial reduction is wearing off just at the highest point in your jump press Z with your pinky and before you hit the ground it will be recast.
  3. Do the kin powers affect the phantasm?
Can you speed boost your phantasm? And does anyone know an easy bind to target your pet?
Does it get bufs from siphon power?
  4. Darn, relied on a heavily slotted parry
  5. You should put in something about accelerated returns / non-linear nature of defense. You won't notice the first 5% alot, but the 5% extra defense that brings your attacker down from 10% to 5% tohit is much more noticed.

For the rest, an excellent guide.
  6. Can I come with "wrong impression" my lvl 28 ill/kin controller?
  7. Thanks for the link, I didn't have this page yet. Explains the whole thing.
  8. All info I can get on internet about the Flash recharge time states that it is 120 seconds. In my case that is not correct. I've timed it and with two recharge reduction SO's in it the recharge time is 145 seconds. Are all these guides on internet outdated? Or am I missing something?

    I'm a lvl 25 ill/kin controller and the enhancements are both 25s.

...So who would you send in to fight a Malta Sapper in issue 7?...

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Don't sappers autohit?

I would send someone who could confuse him :P
  10. As I love my Broadsword/superreflexes scrappper I have to make a comment.

While in the early levels it might be hard, as you get to SO's and stamina you will have a gigantic boost. Also SR is verry good with Broadsword because of the combination with parry easily maxing your defenses. Even against +3 bosses you'll hit the def cap easily. (slot parry for accuracy and defense)
Also SR is very good in PVP cause of perception bonus and practiced brawler is one of the strongest status protections easily permanent with one recharge SO.

One thing of the Broadsword set is I think you need hasten, that way you can skip some of your primary powers and have an attack chain with your strongest attacks and parry. Parry really is a very very strong power.
mine is: parry->head splitter->parry->disembowel, repeat. Very efficient "arresting". (do you say "you're under arrest" after you've split a villains head?)

Please take Hack as the first power and not slash, hack is the most worthless attack of a BS-scrapper.
  11. Head Splitter+Build up+Crit= One dead stalker not knowing what happened to him
  12. Rank of foe seems to matter, more crits against bosses and less against minions.

(My experience: Head Splitter only crits when I could have used brawl to finish te foe).
  13. Maybe bad planning, besides, something has come up, not going through tiwth it.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
They do stack, yes - but the resistance you gain from TI is significantly higher than that from RPD (30% versus 7.5%), so the extra gain by adding RPD isn't "all that".

    [/ QUOTE ]
Keep in mind that every extra percentage helps relatively more. The closer you get to 95% the harder every single extra resistance begins to count.
  15. So who has a hero needing his 2nd respec walking around union?
Well I have one and need at least 3 friends to make this work.
    Anyone up for the challenge?

Peasant with Sword lvl 35 Broadsword/Superreflexes scrapper.

(11:00 gmt would make 12:00 EST? (continental time?))
  16. PieterB

    Really??

    I play a broadsword/super reflexes scrapper.
Why is broadsword good? Broadsword has massive damage and parry. Parry is one of the best defensive powers in the game. Every other shot I will parry. With broadsword my opinion is: your choices are limited and before 20 you will be in endurance problems, after that take stamina and all is fine. Also hasten will help Broadsword alot. It has got pretty long reloading times and benefits very very well from hasten.
You will have to think pre and after 32. Because at 32 you will get Head Splitter. My chain is: parry-head spliter-parry-Disembowel with hasten up and with hasten down I throw in an extra Hack or Slice depending on the situation.

I think you can skip Slash, Taunt and Whirling Sword (maybee even build up but some will disagree). But that depends on playstyle.

You are gona love the damage and you're gona love the defense from parry. And with head splitter and disembowel you can keep most bosses in a "down chain" single target control and damaging :P

Maybe we need a word for a character who can hold aggro properly then?

...I'm trying to build mine as much around team healing and rezing as possible...

    [/ QUOTE ]
That should be easy, just aggro every mob you see and run pretty soon you're entire team would be in need of rezing

    Tank Playstyle.

Hi, I'm just a beginning tanker, but I think my playstyle is gimped.

As first characters I played a controller and rad/rad defender (both to their 20s) which required a defensive playstyle. Not getting the aggro and relying on teammates. After that I rolled Broadsword/SR scrapper and he is now in his 30s and with him I can play more and more aggressive.

With my tanker though (now 15) I feel like I'm not tanking enough. Should I run in front and jump in the group, or use taunt to get the attention of any foes? Or are the any other things to consider? And what is a good way to taunt? Taunt every enemy not near you, or taunt "through" teammates?
I have the feeling I still play too defensive, the playstyle I picked up with my first two toons.

    Any advice.

ps. I try to play in groups alot, they are mostly pickup groups.
My tanker is invul/SS (Cor Leone)

...I find it a bit of a button pressing frenzy...

    [/ QUOTE ]
With the long animations of head splitter and disembowel (I still don't know how you can "arrest foes" with those two) I don't find it a frenzy.

Play an empath for once and you'll know what a frenzy is.

Parry->Head Splitter->Parry->Disembowel is a nice chain if you take hasten. Then I just hit "`" to target nearest target and "F" to get up close and personal, repeat.

Gotta love the name, I already told you ingame, but that's the best name I've seen in a while

    Thanks alot.

I teamed with an empath today. It was a blast Fortitude stacked with my defenses and +2 bosses couldn't hit me Swing swing swing, miss miss miss.

    ...outperforms other scrappers...

    [/ QUOTE ]
you cant have met a whole lotta scrapper then, just because bs/sr is a good build for your playstyle wich make it work doesnt mean you outshine anyone else.
Besides, regen is always the way to go

    [/ QUOTE ]
Maybee it was a little bold to say so. (tickle tickle).

    [ QUOTE ]
in certain circumstances i'd say BS does outshine other scrapper primaries other than katana, in one hit nothing can do as much damage, very important for the game where you only get one chance at a hit - pvp for instance. however it is desperately slow.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I try to say Broadsword AND Superreflexes shine I din't make a statement if one primary is better than the other. It's the combination parry+defense that makes it strong. Plus the Hasten and Quickness stack making it very much faster. (also I love teaming with a Kinetic for even bigger orange numbers and faster attacks triple stack parry defense buffs double stacked practiced brawler you know what I mean?)
I've found PVP very hard cause of tohit buffs and accuracy modifiers my opponents have negating my defenses. Also a stalker never seems to miss an AS.

    [ QUOTE ]
...the advantage of being good to go from level 4 onwards...

    [/ QUOTE ]
Good to go from lvl 1 BUT beginning to shine with SO's. SO's are very important to maxout Defense.

    [ QUOTE ]
...the fact that the mezz protection in SR is a clicky buggs the hell outa me and to be honest i've seen regen's survive more/longer than sr's just because they can self-heal. imo a self-heal goes further than "dodging"... though i have rolled a new katana/sr, wanna get it up a couple of lvls and see what i7 does to it...

[/ QUOTE ] Maxing defense you will get only hit 5% of the time, AND defense works against all types of damage. Not getting hit is better than needing a heal.
I've made a bind for my "clicky": /bind q "powexec_name practiced brawler" then you don't have to move your hand, takes some getting used to but it does wonders.
You won't appreciate BS/SR if you only do a couple of lvls. It needs the SO's. And with Disembowel and Head Splitter you can keep everyone to the floor.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
Well Lucky and dodge are probably less useful than build up at this level since build up is hella fun.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Ok made my mind up and gona put in build up in favor of lucky. I'll surely get evasion at 35 so that makes up for not having lucky, cause it's a stronger buf then then others percentage-wise.

Not having build up was one thing, but my main point was about how to max defense and I think this does it pretty well. What do you guys have to say about the "defense numbers" and am I correct that with this build defense will be pretty maxed against +2 or even +3? Are there any flaws in my reasoning? Should I maybee get another pool defense power like Combat Jumping?
