Quote:Then don't bid 3 mill for a diamond. Really, is this so hard to understand? Just bid what you want to pay and come back later. It will be there. I have been doing this since the market came out. People keep clamoring about this fairy tale of price swings and inflation. I just sit and wait and pay the same each time.I don't think the 'frequency' of drops will actually solve this problem... cause I will bet most people will hoard the 'valuable' stuff, ie. alchemist silver that usually is expenisive, and red salvage especially (I know I hoard them cause I don't wanna pay 3,000,000 for a diamond) and with the talk of even more storage space the problem will probably get worse not better.
And what talk about more storage? We have beyond enough now, how could we possibly use more? -
Quote:Welcome to normal distribution in a bell shaped curve. Congrats!!! You are in the middle and not the extremes! So after about 96 hours of TF playing, I have not experienced a "lucky" streak, heck I have not experienced a not unlucky streak either
Quote:nor I have seen any uniformity of drops, there is always the player who got zip, or one, while another got in excess of 8 for the TF. You all may argue that is fair, since all have the same chance in paper for the drop, my argument if we all have the same chance, how come over 2 hours hours we do not all have roughly the same amount of drops? -
Or, Stormy, more simply just place a bid you are willing to pay, go play and have fun, come back after some time, and collect said item. I see too many people saying prices are crazy. But if they showed some patience, they can get what they want much cheaper.

Quote:I still don't agree, especially when you use things like temp powers to store - just wow...Even with test server, and mids, they change a lot of things around. While they gave out 3 respecs this time around, normally they only give 1, and sometimes that 1 won't pull out enough enhancements to redo a build, especially if you want to save enhancements.
I'm glad atlest everyone is agrees that more storage would be nice, i guess i'm a minority in the fact that i run out of space pretty constantly.
As for respecs and purples, like mentioned above, if they are that important, it is easy to find a way to store. And for salvage, I will always be amazed that people store that stuff. I have zero stored, yet keep to SGs bins maxed out for IOs. Just place a bid for what you need, go play, then come back and collect. -
Eh, I probably have seen every version of pylons being left up or down, including MLGTF completions. So far, yet to see a difference. If there is, it isn't noticable to me.
-
Yeah, smaller transactions would get around, but more of the whole would it be worth item. It was crazy and don't expect anything like that implemented. Just can't think of reliable inf sinks.
-
Quote:Agreed. Nothing to fix as far as I can see. I said this in another thread that I have a total of 0 as in zero as in none as nothing in storage. Yet, I get what I want and no issues. There isn't an issue. Just a refusal to use what we already have available and make the effort of keeping track of what is being stored where.
The OP has an issue not using mail apparently. That is a player issue that programming can't fix. As for respecs, you can earn them, the devs have been great dishing them out lately, get recipes, or just buy them. Again no issue to fix. -
Quote:Hehe, that is nice. I was thinking of a sliding scale for purchasing on the market. As price increases such that the fee increases. So those 1 bill+ sells could see fees like 50%+ fees. But now the evil kicks in...because someone will say players will just go off market. Well, this would also apply to emails (clicking claim for inf) or trades too - call it a transaction fee or whatever. I don't think this will fly unfortunately, just insane ramblings. What this game needs is an Inf sink that constantly needs to be replenished (in the players minds). Something that players use every day. Something they are always spending Inf on.
Dare I say it?
<looks around for a quick escape from the soon to be forming angry mob>
The devs should remove the ability to pull enhancements off of builds during respecs, and stop paying them for unslotted enhancements at the end of a respec.
<runs and hides> -
Eh, I just don't see the issue here with storage. What are people storing that is such a problem? Between alts, the market slots, email, SG bins, personal storage, it is lot already. If you can't use it, sell.
-
I am with SwellGuy here that the OP hasn't shown what is causing the spike - if there really is one. As far as I seen, I have not seen any spike in prices. All seems fine to me. But then again, I just bid at a price I am willing to pay and go off to play. At some time later, I pick up my goods. What I paid 5K for today, I paid 5K last year. So if there is spiking, it doesn't affect me.
Anyhow, more influence sinks would drain that excess inf off. I just can't see how to make it work because players will find ways around it unless it becomes mandatory and have a negative impact on players. -
Wow Stormy, you make it sound like a chore. I just bid low, log off and go play an alt. Or more likely, just plan ahead and place bids for what I will pay, then go have fun playing.
If you have a system that can generate a billion inf every 4 days, what are you worried about? -
I would love to change the environment to be more destructable/changable. Blowing holes in walls if you miss or KBing mobs through walls even better (yeah, I know there is "nothing" on the other side). See those Crey lab doors, don't open them, rip them off!
Or other things like using fire powers that actually burn the environment inside a mission. Outside could heal or be fixed over time by some mobs like the cleaners in Praet.
That would be my wish. -
Eh, don't really care. This year I about totally ignored it with the exception of opening 1 present near me to stop the humming sound (while I waited for the team to form).
-
K, with something obviously more awesome than Voo can ever bring.

Eh, people pay what they bid. If they want to place 500K for a piece of salvage or a billion for a recipe, that is their choice. Additionally, IOs and the market are opitional. I have toons with SOs on them, and am willing to bet there are other players out there too.
I would favor more inf sinks added first (like Black Hole IOs (in sig), which would help me respec more easily) rather than add shards dropping from sub-50 mobs. Also, I still see in my globals people doing non-50 TFs, so they are still going on. And IMO, people just got a new shiney with incarnates and it is a holiday when people can be home to play. This game goes in waves up and down with activities and players will be doing all the content.

Can't help but second this. My so called "support" toons are far from helpless since I plan ahead, watch the mobs, and don't rush like a lemming, spamming attacks all over the place. This game is already easy enough and the new challenges we are starting to see affects all ATs.

Obligatory welcome to the forums. We don't bite! (mostly)
Anyhow, you can use the wiki (link) for a source of information.
Also, look to join your server's global chat channels for teams, task forces, and other events. -
Quote:/signed for the OP. I tried this just now and email window wasn't changed, even after clicking apply.I was able to get the email window to behave last night even after logging out and rebooting my laptop. I resized it to get the claim button away from the spam button and went into options and clicked apply.
I didn't check logging into a different character to see if the window remained the size I had made it though. -
Quote:/this. That poster keeps coming back to the forums that there is some issue with support toons. Team based ATs/powersets make others greater. Therefore, as a balance, there are mobs with powers such as a mez. But Stormfront was uber protection all the time like the melee toons - which are supposed to draw aggro (brutes/brutes) or required to be in melee range (scrappers/stalkers). That poster doesn't realize how powerful these so-called "helpless" toons are.I just don't see that it is a problem that team-oriented ATs should have soloing weaknesses to balance out the huge benefits they bring to teams. Surely that's the very essence of team-v-solo balance?
For example (not sure how many times I have pointed out), I ran an STF with only dark or storm defenders. It was successful. But wait how could we have passed GW or LR with out status protection? Easy. We just ignored them. For GW, we took out the other patrons. If we got held, we just kept healing and fighting. For LR, we just debuffed him and took out the towers while he just kept trying to hit us. No Kin with ID. No emp with CM. No therm with thaw. No son with clarity. Or whatever else.
I keep bringing up asking what game is that poster playing? I have lots of support toons and never see what she is talking about. -
Quote:If that is all, my vote is 0. It is not needed and no number would work because we can have very large quantities of storage now.Again, I am looking for ideas for what an acceptable amount would be.
Salvage is easy to come by. And through a little planning ahead and patience, you can get what you need either by the market or accessing through storage via personal vault, storage on a toon, storage on the market, or even SG bins. Just those alone, I can not fathom how much salvage you are requiring here, even after respecing for Fitness, and it exceeding all that storage just mentioned.
And what is this gauging you are speaking of? You place a bid for what you will pay, go play or log off and enjoy RL or whatever over some time (be it minutes, an hour, or overnight), and come back later, salvage is there and waiting. If you are paying 500K for something, that is because you are bidding that high (meaning you are accepting to pay this amount) or you are impatient and pay HAVEITNOW!!! prices. For example, respec a toon, see what you need, place bid, switch toons, respec 2nd toon, see what you need, place bids, switch back to 1st toon and there you go, your salvage is waiting. And by the time you are done slotting the 1st toon, switch back to 2nd toon and collect the salvage again. It really is easy. -
Being a bit pro-active...
Happy holidays to you all on Victory.
Be merry and safe this season! And for those that have been nice, enjoy those gifts from Santa.
