Having an NRG/Dev blaster, I figured Elementals would be a good Lore pet. The fact that they fly would complement well the fact that Myrtille is a hover blaster that rarely touches the ground (except to open Ouro portals, I wish they fixed that!)
It's also one of the lore pets that heals some, which I thought would be OK, I do the damage, help me saty alive (not that I need much help usually)
My problem is that the stupid thing (I think I have one of the T3s) has Hurricane! when the pet is in your face, you can't see a thing because of the darn Hurricane graphics. since I'm usually hovering, it rarely annoys the teammates as much as it does me, but I've had a few complaints.
Paragon Wiki is blacked out today, so I can't look up if a next/different tier would allow me to get rid of Hurricane.
am I better off starting on a different Lore set and writing off the investment to get to that one T3?
are any of the other Lore pets good for a hover blaster? -
Never say never.
I had made a Mace/Energy toon well before the "strong and pretty" jokes (or at least well before I became aware of them) and boy did it suck!
I came back to the game this summer after a few years off and heard Mace had been changed, so I made a Mace/Energy brute and having lots of fun with it. Pretty sure it's because the sets got better, not because I was wrong about it the firt time.
I have also never been able to stomach /poison (pun intended), but I am considering making a Beast/Poison themed MM when the set comes out -
not picky, I just get a different thrill from being part of a team of "pros" vs trying to keep a bunch of clueless newbs alive and educated.
I only get picky for STF (I've seen ITF mentioned above, but I don;t think it requires any special care) -
I can see how AB would make the combo work, I was mostly kidding.
thanks foe the info that the beta is open to all VIPs. Now I may have to give it try. -
kidding aside. I'm excited about Darkness.
As far as beta goes VIP means the Chosen Ones as opposed to "not Fremium" use of VIP right? so I probably can't try it out even though I have VIP account? -
wonder if that applies to 8x Earth/Emp
must be like watching grass grow (and just as safe) -
shhh. they're going to nerf it before it even comes out!

Is burnout useful to take on a controller?
I like the idea of being able to recharge the long lead time powers like pets or the AoE holds, but the recharge on burnout is so long that you have to be really judicious as to when you use it so you don't waste it (basically when you only made a clear mistake in the original application of the power and risk team wipe/failure)... aka it becomes very situational.
I'm considering it for a /kin controller so the endurance cost is not a huge issue thanks to Transference. -
I'm about to dust-off my old fire/kin myself (3rd toon and it was my first 50, but haven't played him since I returned to the game this summer.)
any thoughts on Incarnate powers for Fire/Kin? any special synergies?
Without having put too much time into it, I was thinking:
* Clarion in case I miss controlling the mezzers
* Intuition for holds, although I will only benefit from Range increase for secondary effects (as opposed to my Plant/Storm which uses all secondary effects)
* Pyronic for Theme
* Reactive to help the imps' damage and for theme
* any Lore pet save elemental (I made the mistake of getting them on my blaster and I can't see anything because of the stupid hurricane). Probably Cimmeroans for theme
I do have a question about alpha: does it affect your pets too? So would Musculature boost the imps damage, or Nerve boost their accuracy? -
Hesitating between a Darkness Controller and Darkness Dominator.
Secondaries are what's going to cinch the decision.
I have little experience with Dominator secondaries, but Dark Assualt doesn't seem exciting. -
Quote:As the original post explains, Brute's Fury gets you a higher damage multiplier cap, so you will kill faster, so you'll get insp faster, etc... This is especially true now that you can no longer load up on red inspirations before entering the map.Would this also work on a scrapper or is there a particulary reason to do it on a brute?
That being said, you should still be able to do this on a scrapper. It'll just be a little slower and probably a bit less safe since insps won't drop as quicky. -
does the new change that purges enhancements on entering the mission kills CEBR?
-
I think I like this build better, it's not permaHasten but Hasten is only down for 3s, and I get a respectable 35.8% Ranged defense.
I removed the Decimation and Obliteration sets and used Thunderstrikes wherever I could. Oblit is such a nasty set anyway, no endredux.
Frozen Armor is typed-defense, so it now becomes a mule. I wish I could slot that Steadfast earlier.
Levitate moved to lvl10 because I was plying with swapping it with Mental Blast. the 2 powers have very similar DPS and end/s so in the end I left Levitate because I like the knock-up control it provides.
No room for Mind Probe, but I'm ranged anyway. I had to take TK Thrust for the KB set, but it's not a bad choice in the end, the KB will be nice to get them off my back.
I still need to rework when the slots are allocated, for example I want that 3rd slot in Hasten well before 50.

I just realized that that +regen is only when Hoarfrost is activated, so the base is actually 10% lower than the previous build, since it not longer has the +10% regen out of the LotG pair in Frozen Armor.
Frozen Armor also becomes expensive to run when it is only sloteed with an LoTG +Rchg.
So the previosu build is best, although I have replaced the Detonation in Psychic Scream with a lvl50 EndRed IO, since the 5 Posi get you in the red for ED on their own -
An alternative: I stole slots from Frozen armor and Sleet and slotted Hibernate with a Regen Tissue set for another 5% Rchg and +regen proc
I'm trying to see if I can get +Def(Ranged) instead of +regen, if I can pull it off it would make more sense. I might have to pop purples to run in melee for Drain Psyche though.

PermaDom, PermaHasten, good regen
Very little defense, I hope the controls are sufficient to survive. I like levitate because it'll take a boss out of commission for a few seconds, maybve while confuse recharges for example.
I didn't take Mass Hypnosis because I team a lot and it's only situational and I can't get +rhcg that is not +6.25% out of it without purples
Stealth pool is mules for LoTG only
My toon is lvl18, so this is purely theoretical.
Lots of endurance heavy powers with fast rechg, so I think it'll get easy to get in trouble with endurance.

Thx, I never realized that. I didn;t used to be able to afford LoTGs, let alone dream of 5 of them!
-
I was playing with a build on mids and I have
5 LoTG +7.5% rechg
Sting of the Manticore set +7.5% rechg
2x Basilisk's Gaze +7.5% rechg
I would expected Mid's to warn me I was over 5 sets with the same bonus but it doesn't. Bug or do LoTGs really not add up to the "real" sets? -
Nice build Kioshi, not cheap but no purples.
Is the regen sufficient to make up for the lack of heal? -
I tried making a Demons/Sonic and get bored with it, because Sonic is very set-and-forget. I haven't tried slotting the whip attacks much, but I'm not sure they are worth it, even though it'd give me something to do in addition to bossing minions around.
I'm looking for something more active. I have a Bots/Trap and have too many Dark Miasma toons already, so I'd like to avoid those secondaries.
I rolled aDS /TA toon this morning, but I see lots of bad comments on this combo in the forums, and I definitely like my toons to be on the uber side, so I'm reconsidering.
There are the healing secondaries thermal and pain, but I tend to be more of an offensive player. I didn't enjoy playing a DS/thermal during beta, although it might grow on me.
This leaves Time, Storm and Poison, is one of those especially good. I've got a chaotic Fire/Storm controller I enjoy. I tried poison years ago (i12?) and it was OK but it may have changed since then.
Not sure how Time works for an MM.
thw toon will be witch oriented for theme, I want to take advantage of some of the costume pieces (bats and pumpkin head especially) so time is limited. -
I liked DP/Time in the early levels, but at level 25, but I feel so lame, it took me 8 attempts to get through the final mission of SSA2, and I only did it because I had a full tray of medium inspirations.
defenders and controllers can solo the SSA better than this guy.
Is DP that lame in the early game? will it get better?
/Time doesn't have much to offer in the way of protection at this level either. ToT has been painful with this toon, unless I get on a team that soaks up most of the aqgro for me.
Here's my current build:

Players must now be confirmed as Heroes or Villains (i.e., their most recent Morality Mission confirmed their alignment) in order to claim Alignment Merits as rewards from Signature Story Arcs
Iran into this this am before the patch notes were posted. I petitioned it.
Their 1st level tech suppotr didn;t seem to eb aware of the change because I got an answer they were passing it on to the next level of support.
I am very unhappy about this change. This is locking out any toon under 20, it's fiorcing me to run alignement missions on toons that are perfectly comfortable with their heroicness
why piss off paying customers?
NCSOFT I am boycotting the Halloween costume pack. I was going to buy it, you don't deserve that money right now. It's a tiny way to vote with my wallet. -
Quote:so if I leave this big ugly window (see OP) open while I complete tips and morality missions (over the next 2 days), will it allow me to select the reward?
I don;t mind re-running the SSA, but I don't want to have to wait a week till I do the mission again and "lose" a hero merit.
Actually, does "reaffirming" include waiting a week to get the hero power? -
given how mad I am about this unannounced change as a VIP, I can't imagine how I would feel if I were an premium that paid for the SSA and find out they changes the rules after the fact.
