Health should be two slotted with 2 numinas ( not the unique), while Fast Healing should be 6 slotted with the 3 uniques, 2 additonal numinas and 1 common heal ( or a miracle heal for more +recv).
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm actually getting lower numbers slotting Regenerative Tissue: + Regeneration, Numina's Convalescence: Heal and Chance for Recovery/Regeneration into Fast Healing rather than in Health. It is 18% lower then if I were to slot those three into Health. Something wrong with my Mid's?
[/ QUOTE ]
The regen uniques are further enhanced by enhancing the power they are slotted in for +heal. Slotting the Numina and Regen Tissue into a power alone is not nearly as effective as slotting them into a power along with heal enhancements. -

Add Hasten into your build and you can solo him.
DPA != DPS which is usually what Tanker builds are missing (DPS ... DPA means little in practice since its not in context of an attack chain).
[/ QUOTE ]
You're right, DPA and DPS are two different things. However, they are intimately related. DPA does not factor in the recharge time of a power, it is simply the amount of damage in can produce over its animation time.
There are only two powers in SS that provide a DPA of over 100, Haymaker and KO Blow. Unless you can create a build that seamlessly chains those two powers with no downtime, SS will not be able to generate DPS much over 100. Every time an attack like Jab, Punch or Footstomp is used, you are generating DPS that is less than the AV's regen rate.
None of that takes into account the S/L resist that Lord Recluse (and most other AV's) has either.
Granted I am no expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I just can't see SS being able to solo AV's effectively without using outside buffs. Maybe an SD/SS could do it, with fully saturated AAO.
I'd love to be proven wrong though, so hopefully someone will be able to post some pics of their solo tanker vs. AV exploits. -

So, your position is that teams that run AE missions with one level 50 running a level 54 boss map with 7 autoSKed lowbies standing around doing nothing promotes excellence and competence? You think old-style doorsitting lowbies SKed to perma-46s are doing their "best?"
When characters are getting to level 50 in a couple of hours, it's not through efficiency and skill. It's through gaming a broken reward system. Characters that gain 20 and 30 levels an hour are not doing so through their own initiative; they are getting a free ride and using the SK mechanics to scam giant rewards.
I'm not talking some ridiculously low level level cap. I've not even suggesting what that level cap should be. I'm suggesting that one is needed. 20 levels an hour is obviously broken. Five levels an hour might be too low at level 1, but fine for level 10 or 15. It needs analysis and discussion, not out-of-hand dismissal.
Seriously, it's the only solution that will put a nail in this coffin once and for all. The exact levels can be adjusted as needed, just as the devs have adjusted the leveling rate up and down in the past.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hyperbole FTW! You really have no idea what you're talking about here. -
[ QUOTE ]
The thing is, abuse of a game system is like pornography vs erotica/art - you know it when you see it.
[/ QUOTE ]
And that standard was proven to be ineffective in practice because it was so subjective and vague.
[ QUOTE ]
You cannot set down clear, specific, criteria (such as Positron's example of defining 4 levels in 30 minutes) without people abusing the criteria (making sure to take 31+ minutes to level four times. ) Which is why it is unrealistic to expect ridig guideline in the MA.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think you are misunderstanding what I am saying. The players do not need to know what the dev's INTERNAL criteria are for egregious abusive behavior. In fact, to think that the devs don't already have a set of defined criteria, is rather naive. They are already implementing MA design changes to limit player's ability to abuse the system. This is what they should have done to begin with.
Having a system with clearly defined OBJECTIVE criteria in place to limit player abuse proactively will always be more desirable and effective than a reactive system that relies on SUBJECTIVE player reporting. -

That may be true, but some of us had the temp power, but none of us used them.
[/ QUOTE ]
Really, because in the chat log Mentalshock clearly says "I have it to. I just used it."
[/ QUOTE ]
Didn't see him fire it, but if he did. it was way at the end. I didn't remember my Fire Blaster still had the temp till he was down to about 10%

Obviously you will just have to go back and do it again to verify now. -

i have played it in missions but i havent farmed with it.
i asked for help i didnt ask for someome to question me.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, for farming the two most important powers are Bonfire and Repel. You want to take both of those as early as possible, and 6 slot them. Toggle on Repel the moment you enter your farm map and never turn it off. When you approach each spawn, drop Bonfire wait a second or two, then throw out your Fire Cages. After that, just let your imps clean up the leftovers...
[/ QUOTE ]
You're only telling half the story. None of this will matter if you don't have the presence pool to grab agro and the medicine pool to keep you alive after you do. You'll also need the powers from these pools to access the set bonuses you'll need for an effective farming build.
[/ QUOTE ]
Dang! That completely skipped my mind! How could I forget about those key powers?? I like to take both the taunt AND fear powers from Presence myself. -

You'll need a calendar to time it.

Oh ye of little faith.. Pop some Shivans and a nuke or 2 and that bad boy will roll over like a pussycat. -
Out of all those, the only attack that does over 100 DPA is KO Blow. Against an AV with nearly 100/sec regen, there is simply no way for you to make any progress without using outside buffs.

Nice! I see several familiar names there. Not surprised that team managed to pull it off.

I can totally vouch for this. Its awesome, try it.

It works best on really large, tightly packed spawns. -

I know that if you want to find normal teams..........you can join a supergroup, join a global channel, get on a more populated server and you can find NORMAL teams.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's funny, I'm on around 6-7 global channels, part of an active SG, and play on Virtue, yet I never get any "NORMAL" teams despite going through each and every one of my channels.
People need to quit saying "JOIN AN SG/CHANNEL/ADD EVERYONE AND THEIR MOTHER TO YOUR GLOBAL LIST" like it's going to change that 80% of the population is doing this.
Also, in before lock.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, if you do all of those things then that only leaves a few possibilities.
1: The problem is with your SG. Find one more compatible to your tastes.
2: The problem lies with the population on Virtue itself. Find another server.
3: The problem is with you. Can't really offer you any advice about that.
Don't know what else to say. I play exclusively on Protector, one of the lower population servers. Yet, by doing those very things that you mentioned, I have no problem finding or forming teams. I see teams being formed regularly on our global channels, or even in Broadcast that are not MA farms. -

I won't be able to make it this Saturday. Party at my house for the 4th if anyones in the area though
[/ QUOTE ]
Have fun! -
I'm not sure about that... Most of the SS attacks are fairly low DPA even with Rage up. KO Blow has good DPA but the super long recharge really hurts. I think the only other attack that has over 100 DPA is Haymaker. I'm guessing that putting together a sustainable attack chain with enough DPS for even an AV without any resists would be difficult for SS.

I said that designing and implementing a system that prevents what the devs consider abusive behavior would be much more effective than relying on players policing themselves. That is not in any way unrealistic, and it is what they SHOULD have done before releasing MA.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, actually, it is very unrealistic. You can design the system to stop some forms of abusive behavior (like how they removed prisoners from the system with the last update) but removing all of them is quite impossible. You've got to have human beings doing the policing. Unless you feel like hiring a staff of mission reviewers, having players do it is the only way to go.
[/ QUOTE ]
That only depends on how realistic a definition of abusive behavior is used to begin with. Limit it to clearly defined criteria, and it is feasible. Try and include something that prevents any & all types of abusive behavior and it quickly crosses over into completely unrealistic. -

Well it took forever, ungodly number of petitions, and about 10 emails. The whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth. Given that the last 3 resubmits the mission was unchanged, but now sometime yesterday while at work it is now unbanned. The same GM that called it a farm is the one that unabanned it. This whole thing was too much hastle for a "game".
If you're curious its mission arc 236903.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's the downside of putting the onus on players to "police" each other rather than the devs taking the responsibility of designing a system to prevent whatever they consider abusive in the first place.
One of many reasons I pretty much avoid MA completely.
[/ QUOTE ]Yes, because it's completely possible to give players some actual creative leeway *and* mechanically bar all farms, etc. [/sarcasm]
[/ QUOTE ]
Next time try reading something before engaging the sarcasm... You will note I never said anything about preventing "all farms". I said that designing and implementing a system that prevents what the devs consider abusive behavior would be much more effective than relying on players policing themselves. That is not in any way unrealistic, and it is what they SHOULD have done before releasing MA. -

So in order to read email, you'd have to have the recipe and salvage, then craft said email?
[/ QUOTE ]
What is this? Your first day? It's stupidly obvious that's not what he meant. It's like you're just taking what he said out of context and saying it in a way to try and be funny. Maybe if spent half this energy on actually being useful, you wouldn't be such a waste of high post counts!
He obviously meant that in order to SEND E-mails, you'd have to have the recipe and salvage to craft the E-mail. Enough for each one you send out. Until you've memorized it. Then you just need the salvage.

Will we get badges for crafting and sending emails then? If so, I fully support this wonderful idea! -

I do, with no luck, most times other zones are vurtually empty, everyone is in AP.

Here's a few things that may help:
* Join an active SG.
* Use your server's global channels.
* Global friend other active players that you enjoy teaming with.
* Check your server section here on the forum and look for scheduled events.
Try one or more of those, and you should have no problems finding things to do.
