Email Recipes, Salvage, etc?
Yes. Some want it ("they have it in that other game"), some don't. Unlikely to happen.
Arc 55669 - Tales of the PPD: One Hell of a Deal (video trailer)
Arc 64511 - The Wrecking Ball
Arc 1745 - The Trouble With Trimbles
Arc 302901 - HappyCorpse
I want it. A lot.
So in order to read email, you'd have to have the recipe and salvage, then craft said email?
It'd definitely put a damper on the RMTers.

What is this? Your first day? It's stupidly obvious that's not what he meant. It's like you're just taking what he said out of context and saying it in a way to try and be funny. Maybe if spent half this energy on actually being useful, you wouldn't be such a waste of high post counts!
He obviously meant that in order to SEND E-mails, you'd have to have the recipe and salvage to craft the E-mail. Enough for each one you send out. Until you've memorized it. Then you just need the salvage.

Will we get badges for crafting and sending emails then? If so, I fully support this wonderful idea!
Well, if reading Emails gave me chances to recieve recipe and salvage drops, I'd stop hiding from /search and start hanging out in starting zones more.
About sending "stuff" to characters not your own, via Email.
I see no need for this, other than making RMT deliveries easier, since the buyers would no longer need for thier account to be online to recieve the deliveries. Then the buyers could recieve thier ill-gotten gains without giving up thier account passwords to the unscrupulus seller.
About sending "stuff" to alternate characters on your own account, via Email.
Don't need to.
1) With minimal effort, any character in a post I-9 CoX can be monetarily self-sufficient. No marketeering tricks needed, just sell (or use) the drops that come free with defeating foes. Just learn where the best price is for each (stores vs. Market).
Can already trade goods to alternate characters
2) Can use the Market to transfer $Inf to alts on the same faction, regardless of server. (You will lose a percentage as a fee, but Western Union charges too. )
3) Can use SG bins to transfer Enhancements and Salvage to Alt characters in the same SG.
4) Can set up $Inf deliveries from one character to another, regardless of Server or faction, via a second player. Check your server forums to set one up. (As redside and blueside markets are different, there may be an exchange rate if cross-faction.) Trust-worthy players are not hard to find.
What's the point?
5) A L50 of any AT can make a million $Inf per hour, and some characters of certain powersets can double that, in fairly normal (i.e. non-exploit) play. Evidence? Catwhoorg's Hour Challenge, if it is still posted and not lost to the forum purging of old threads. If players with L50's are allowed to sugar-daddy thier alts at will and at whim, then you could create a real "haves vs have-nots" situation, couldn't you? Wouldn't there be a real discrepency between starting players trying to level a new character and vets who are leveling an alt?
Not that there isn't already a big difference. Vets powers help a bit by adding an extra (unslottable) power or two, but knowing where to go and what to do when you get there is a big help. But this would spread the difference more.
Might as well just make L1-30ish enhancements free at that point.
At the risk of sounding apathetic, I'm politely "meh" on this idea. The same as I was the last 5-10 times it was brought up by posters who elaborated more on the idea.

[/ QUOTE ] Wow, that's about all I can say.
Bad idea until we get rid of the RMT spammers. Way too many people just delete everything in their inbox without even looking at it.
While most people would be fine, there are plenty of people that would forget they had an item in their inbox and delete it causing more customer service issues.
I kinda like the Salvage/Recipe/Influence cost per e-mail...?
If nothing else it'd slow the Inf farmers down and not -too- many players use the function, anyway....

[/ QUOTE ] While I understand your reasoning, I don't think we should not implement features just because of RMT spammers. First, they are always gonna be here. I don't see it as a realistic possibility. Second, maybe give a feature like this it's own category instead of lumping it in with all the emails.
