Quote:Insults? Defending? Is there some reason you find the need to post insults all the time to people.. To belittle them.. Does it make you bigger in your mind ?.. What's the point ??
Do you think I would want someone like you defending me if I was a Dev ? I would want nothing to do with you or associate myself with you in any way..
Methinks you're reading an awful lot into my post that wasn't there...

I'm curious how you determined that "nobody wants these things"? Did you hire a reputable polling company to conduct a survey of the player base? Hack into the dev datamining tools? Ask the tooth fairy?

Quote:Despite your discrimination disclaimer, your post still comes across that way.Just want to see if there are any mexican in this server who might want to join me and my friends (also mexicans).
we are just basically 3 guys but we have our own base, we power level, run TF's, PVP and are looking to expand our friend list.
not to discriminate against anybody but we only talk spanish during play time.
so send me an email at sr.shankly@gmail.com if you are interested
Why ask for Mexicans specifically? What's wrong with Puerto Ricans? Cubans? Guatemalans? Spaniards? Or just anyone who speaks Spanish for that matter, if that's what you're truly looking for. -

Quote:It certainly doesn't hurt to bring it up though and try to encourage them to look at it.and again, your wrong. if something is under performing they have just as much incentive to fix it as if it is over performing. the devs have access to all the info in the game which you do not. unless you can convince the devs that it is seriously under performing for rewards, what they have set is fine. i'm sure they are looking at it since it has only been around since i17 and will make changes if they see that they need to be made.

Quote:Except they didn't base the current rewards off of in-game datamining. They based them off of player feedback during beta testing, which does not correlate well with actual in-game performance.yeah... this is pretty much it.
The developers have access to the timings on every Positron Run made on every server... and that's what they base the merits off of.
I'm not the best player around by far, but I'm a pretty experienced TF speed runner. The rewards for the new Positron are too low and they need to be adjusted. I've run it many times since it came out. I have yet to be on a full team that can complete either one in less than an hour. I will say that I haven't been on teams that specifically tried to 'game' it, but none of the teams I was on were bad teams, generally had experienced players, didn't dawdle around wasting time, yet it still took nearly twice as long to complete as the merit rewards would suggest.
The general attitude I have personally seen in-game, is that Posi is only worth running for the badge now.
Quote:just a little fyi also, a friend and i duod it. the first part was in 30 mins which is under the average time and the second part was in 40 mins which is under the average. so does that mean that the merits should be lowered based off of my times?
At the level of the Positron TF (10-15) and with the enemies it contains (CoT and Vahz), it scales very poorly for large groups. With 2 or 3 players, you'll run into very few bosses. A team of 8 will be up against stacked Ruin Mages and CoT Spectrals. Totally different experience. -

Efficiency = Farming = Powerleveling = Exploiting = Cheating
Wrong...
Efficiency does not equal farming, I have plent toons that are fast and efficient that cannot farm.
Farming does not equal Powerleveling, they are actually 2 very different things.
Powerleveling does not equal Exploiting, all known exploits have all been plugged.
Exploiting is not our resposibilty to fix, it is the developers job to plug these holes.
Cheating is not possible in this game, it is as the developers designed it, there is only clever players and sheep.
That's exactly what Bright Shadow was saying in his post.
!= is commonly used to mean 'not equal to'.
Quote:inequality
is not equal to; does not equal
x ≠ y means that x and y do not represent the same thing or value.
(The forms !=, /= or <> are generally used in programming languages where ease of typing and use of ASCII text is preferred.) -

Quote:No, no! You've got it backwards! The increased global temperatures are clearly causing a decline in the number of pirates worldwide, as their ecosystems are rapidly being destroyed. We must all act quickly if we wish to preserve this valuable and unique species for future generations! And I can prove that Global Warming is caused by a decrease in Pirate population!

But once a mission is selected, everyone is SK'ed to the level of the mission holder, not the team leader. It is only when there is no mission selected or the mission is also the team leader's that the team is set to the team leader's level.

Quote:Globals will definitely be a big help on Protector. We have a very active community, and there is nearly always something going on. From regular TF's to GM hunts, to themed TF's (all controller/dominator, all defender, etc.), there is plenty of activity.Oh, nice. Haven't even considered the global channels. I'll definitely give it a try.
Protector TFs and Protector Vigilance are both great places to start.
Protector has been my home since I first started playing, so feel free to look me up at anytime.
Quote:This is probably the most enlightening advice I've received so far. Thank you!
For some reason, the majority of players just despise the idea of having the star and running the team. I can sympathize to a certain extent. It can be a bit of a hassle having to juggle playing your own character, keeping the team moving so there is little downtime, and also looking for new team members when others leave. But, it's really not all that difficult.
A few small suggestions when forming teams that pay big dividends:
1: Send tells to other players, not just blind invites.
2: Give them an idea in the tell of what you're doing. Something simple like "Running lvl 25 missions in Sharkhead, would you like to join us?"
3: Have a mission(s) ready to go when players join the team. Few things are worse when joining a team than having no idea what is going on, and getting the impression that the team leader has no idea what is going on either.
4: Welcome new players to the team. Being greeted with silence when joining a team sucks.
5: Be prepared to adjust difficulty up or down on the fly depending on how the team is doing. -
Quote:Yes, that's it. The floating trays are named tray#. What took me a while to figure out, was that the # is NOT the number of the tray itself, but the # corresponding to the order you opened the floating trays in. So, for example, the first floating tray you open is tray1, even if the tray itself is set to tray 8.IIRC, they are called tray#. I'm not logged in, so I cannot verify.
The standard set of 3 trays counts as 1 window, called tray or tray1. Following trays are tray2, tray3, tray4, etc..
I hope that makes sense. -
Quick question: How do I change the size of the floating power trays? (The ones opened with the + button)
I've spent the last 10 minutes looking at the wiki and trying various commands and I can't figure out how those trays are named...
ETA: Nevermind.. figured it out on my own! -
Quote:This is a terrible idea. Ever heard the old saying 'too many cooks spoil the soup'? That's exactly what would happen. If I'm the team leader, I want control over the composition of the team. Turn that over to 7 other players, each with their own idea of what they want? Chaos. Teams would be breaking apart left & right.2. Allow everyone on a team to invite others. As it is, if you see someone you want to invite, you have to ask for the star or ask the leader to invite X who may have a name like TyuIUiJuyGg -- which you have to type out exactly. There is no reason the team leader has to be the only one who can invite. It slows down the game and makes many ppl not want to be team leader. At least make it an option for the team leader to enable this function..

Great news devs! Now I'm not going to have to move all my villains from redside to blue, just to have access to a healthy market.
-
Quote:Who said anything about market tricks or getting around anything? Considering several different PvP IO's go for over a billion, a player could legitimately have several billion in completely valid bids on the market. Bidding on a full set or two of purple recipes could easily exceed the 2 billion cap as well.2 Billion inf cap is a cap.
A cap.
Getting around that with Market tricks is not a license to exceed the cap. If anything is done by the Devs that causes excess inf beyond to the cap to disappear, then, it's working as intended.
When asked, the Devs have always said using the Markets to get passed the cap is not WAI.
The Devs are being nice with all this warning so that people can get their affairs in order.
