Iguana Eddie, 50 Thugs/Poison MM. One of the 2 Strike Forces left I need to do.
-
That was a lot of fun. A level gained, and a cool 1.5 mil for the recipe. Not bad from a couple of hours work..err...play.
-
Well then, I shall show up as Frost Fiend for this one then. (Ice/Cold Corruptor)
-
If you've got any spaces left, I could show up with either Iguana Eddie(Thugs/Poison), or Frost Fiend (Ice/Cold).
-
Some folks in the US have crunched the numbers... See here
It looks like this is a nerf to stalker to damage against anything except EBs/AVs/GMs.
Higher level minions might not get one shotted, Lts won't get one shotted, and damage against bosses doesn't quite break even to the current AS. EBs you only start doing more damage against once you get to about level 24. AVs you'll do massive amounts of damage, but how often do you go up against them, and what are your chances of getting a second shot in afterwards.
So, stalkers will find it harder to solo, and will only be useful to teams when going up against the very big stuff. I think they're going to have to look at the numbers again... -
The problem I noticed goes someting like this:
1. Order the bruiser into melee using Goto/Aggressive.
2. He gets to the location, and Handclaps.
3. All the targets are now far away. So, he uses Hurl (with it's very long animation).
4. You keep on ordering him into melee.
5. Goto 2.
He can, and will, do this (make an attack chain out of Handclap and Hurl).
If you don't order him into melee, then there is a very reasonable chance he will just stand at the back throwing big rocks every once in a while.
There are a couple of ways out of this:
1. Don't give him the first upgrade. This is the solution I use, as I find the scatter from Handclap counter productive with all the narrow cones and small AOEs the rest of the thugs put out there.
2. Switch him to passive before ordering him into melee. Once he reaches melee range, switch him to aggressive. He should only use his melee attacks. I've not tried this myself, but it has been recommended on the American forums.
3. Bypass the whole knockback problem by getting the immobolize from Mu Mastery. As I went with Mace Mastery, I didn't have this option.
4. Wait for the issue to be fixed... -
Well, if it's the Sunday, count me in with Iguana Eddie (50 Thugs/Poison).
-
I'd say MA has the edge over NB in PvP.
Crippling Axe Kick offers -Fly, slow and a chance of immob.
Crane Kick has a chance of knockback.
Both Thunder Kick and Eagles Claw have a chance of stun.
Cobra Strike is a stun. Good for stopping squishies.
All the attacks are single target, and therefor have full chance of critting from hide. -
Well, if you need to make up some numbers, I have a Thugs/Traps MM, Chance Last.
Only lvl 14 at the moment though. -
I have /bugged it. It's not been fixed yet (haven't tried it on test for I11 yet).
It appears that Postrons Blast isn't working in any of the pseudo-pet attacks. People have reported it not working in Oil Slick Arrow aswell. -
Word of warning. Positrons Blast - Chance for energy damage, does not do anything in Carrion creepers. I've ran several tests, and have had it slotted for the last couple of months, it has never proc-ed.
I can't speak for any of the other procs, but this one does not work with creepers. -
If you want I can sign up with Alana Majere, lvl 39 Necro/Dark MM.
-
It was, orignaly, just the typed defences, but it was changed later (not sure when) to include the positional defences as well.
-
If there's still a space free (and the servers come back up), can I add Kat Black (MA/SR Stalker to the list).

We had a great time on Azeroth's team (Tank, 3 scraps, Stalker, Dominator, Corruptor, Controller), as none of us had done the TF before and we were gawping at the new maps, enjoying the storyline (which we kept each other abreast of) and plowing through the mobs and generally having a whale of a time.

Hear hear!
Much scrapping fun, maps we hadn't seen before and just the right level of faceplanting (mainly by me - stupid scrapperlock!) to keep things entertaining. And about 7 more bars towards 50, which never hurts.
Thanks to all for a great team!

I had a lot of fun with my Stalker on this team. It was the first time I've ever teamed with a Tank (I don't play CoH much, just CoV), so that is what aggro control was all about. Speaking of control, it was nice seeing AS+crit+crit+crit on a held boss. It was also nice being on a melee based team and not being totally outclassed by the Brutes.
In other words, I had a LOT of fun.
Got a Call of the Sandman recipe for all that work, but it did at least sell for 45K.
Managed to make 8 million off of the Crushing Impact and Numinas Convelescence receips I picked up along the way, so that sort of makes up for it.
-
Ok, Kat Black (MA/SR) is now level 45.
I'll see you there for the 7pm start. -
I have a level 40 Plant/Ice I play in the all dominator team.
Carrion Creepers is a very goods power. With this you can take the alpha for a team, it also does a bit of damage and control for you.
The Giant Venus fly trap looks freakish, tends to stand back waving its, um, tendrils around. It does fire off quite a few attacks and can do decent damage, it just never looks like its doing very much.
Greater Ice Sword and Bitter Ice Blast will round out you single target attacks, these will seriously up your damage.
It's just a shame you have to wait so long for them.
Chilling Embrace you probably wont find necessary, as all the tragets you approach in melee should already be controlled by Seeds of Confusion.
You will want to team, the bigger the team the better. Don't worry about what else is on the team, with Carrion Creepers, you can start a fight safely, with Seeds of confusion, you can control the fight and deal damage. Once most of the enemies are controlled just lay into them with your attacks until they stop twitching.
This combo can be very effective, it is also one of the easiest dom builds to level. You control starts early, and the attacks are relatively high damage (for dominators).
Anymore questions, just ask. -
I'd like to add Kat Black (lvl 44 stalker) to the list.
I should be able to make lvl 45 before tomorrow, only 1 bar to go. -
I'd recomend Thugs/Poison. (I'm not biased, honest)
With all the debuffs available in /Poison EBs wont be much of a problem. AVs/Heros can be a bit tricky, and I often use a Shivan just to help with the Tanking. (Not even the Bruiser can stand up to damage put out by most AVs).
The main synergy between these 2 sets comes in with the Noxious Gas power, it is perfect for the Bruiser, as it has a greater effect when used on the Tier 3 pets, and he is the only Tier 3 designed for melee. -
My PvE Stalker has Sprint as her travel power. Saves a couple of power picks for extra attacks/shields.
Ok, I might not be the quickest to get to a mission. But you do get to find out how to get everywhere, where all the short cuts/lifts are. -
Masterminds start to pick up at about level 6. With a second pet, and the upgrade for them, you'll end up doing a lot more damage.
-
Ok, I don't PvP often, but here goes:
Iguanna Eddie
AT: MasterMind
Build: PvE
Troubles with: Anyone with TP foe, Spines Scrappers, Kins and Stormies.
It's zones where I have trouble with TP Foe or Spines, but the close proximity of arenas make them less dangerous, but then I run into trouble against Defenders/Controllers. -
Ok, wednesday at 8 is good for me, as long as the arena doesn't keep crashing...
Are we sticky to level 5? I still have more alts at that level to try out. Oh, and I'll try to leave Frost Fiend with his Infrigidate out of the fight this time. -
Had lots of fun at the last event
, even if we did run into quite a few arena bugs.
So, is there another meet this wednesday? -
Yeah, had a lot of fun with this.
I think I learned a few lessons:
Level 5 stalkers are very weak.
Brutes are very hard to kill.
Snow Storm is anoying.
Caltrops is anoying.
Snow Storm + Caltrops is VERY anoying.
Infrigidate is amazing, if it hits.
Dominators still don't do much damage.
Lack of accuracy will get you killed more than anything else.
