  1. You could just turn on "no Xp" for every other mission on a DXP weekend.
  2. [ QUOTE ]
I had to actually move away to turn focused accuracy off

    [/ QUOTE ]

You don't have to move away, you just have to not have any powers queued up to turn off your toggles. As has been mentioned, this will only apply to shape shifting powers after the next patch, it it to prevent an exploit, which the devs arekeeping quiet about.

They are aware that this adversly affects keldians, and they are looking at ideas.

Post from BAB on the topic:

    [ QUOTE ]
This change was to address issues with any toggle power that changes your costume, which includes Dwarf and Nova form toggles. It's not specifically targetting Kheldians, but Kheldians forms are one of the things that we needed to address...just to a much lesser degree than the other things that originally prompted us looking into costume change toggles in the first place.

Again, we understand this is a big change to the previous feel of how Kheldians play and we're still discussing ways to preserve that as much as possible without re-exposing the holes we needed to close. There are still things that can happen. De-toggling might be something that could be queue-able, we might be able to make exceptions for Kheldian forms, we might be able to shave down some of the activation times of powers used while in Kheldian forms.

I play a tri-form Kheldian myself and use keybinds to switch between forms, change trays, activate various toggles when dropping into human form. I'm keenly aware of how disruptive this change can feel. So, you guys have at least one champion on the dev team working to make this needed fix as palable as possible for form shifting Kheldians. And that's about the best I can do.

  3. The main use is to avoid outleveling content.

there is a secondary use: if you turn it on just before you ding, you can arrange to level, and hence get the level up boost, just before tackling a troublesome fore.
  4. I just sat it out, GWs mezzes are vicious, but her damage is low by AV standards.

A lot will depend on your AT and powersets too, I was playing a PB, and lightform gives lots of non-suppressing neg resistance.

This AV does make all those hold resistance IO set bonuses useful...

    Praetorian Arc

    Outleveled arcs give full merits.
  6. There is a difference between an assumtion and a deduction.

People assumed that this was an anti-farming measure, despite the stong evenence to the contrary (that being, it wouldn't work).

I combined the knowledge that code had been added to prevent players doing opposite faction missions, which we were told about in the developers diary; with the knowledge that character info is not reliably transfered between zones to make a deduction. I could still have been wrong, but what I said was based on sound evidence, and turned out to be correct.
  7. They can't be fixed until the cause is known, and without getting lucky that can be virtually impossible to find out.

The devs know crash bugs and lag is bad for the game - if they could have fixed it they would have fixed it.

thats with tough and weave or just the set on its own?

Just the set, no other powers or set bonuses.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's what I said it was, a consiquence of the code to stop players doing opposite faction missions in co-op zones.

Maybe you will believe me next time?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sure, when you show me a quote where the devs say thats what it was from. Your quote above was in relation to the missions effected, not the reason it happened.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The "missions affected" affected is nearly all missions.

I was able to deduce what had happened based on my knowledge of programing, not on anything the devs had said (they didn't even know about it). Ravenswing would have been able to work it out too if he hadn't been so quick to make cynical asumptions about developer incompetance and duplicity.
  10. Def M/R/AOE: 28.55% / 42.68% with 3 allies within 8'.

    Resistance: 23.55% (all) / 70.65% S/L, 47.1% (others) with OWTS.

    +hp: +20% / +60% with WOTS

-dmg (all types) -10% within 8'

    +dmg (self) +65% with 10 mobs within 8'

    Numbers are for tankers.

not if u work on ur build to try to cover the holes that makes u weaker than the owners

    [/ QUOTE ]

The changes to PvP are so sigificant that you would need a new build even without diminishing returns affecting set bonuses.
  12. It's niether.

VEATs don't use the brute APPs, they use a copy of the Brute APPs.

For example, the powers had the taunt effect removed when they where copied.

they may choose to update them in line with brutes when they get round to making all APP/PPPs 5 powers, or they may make them different.

Remember, the original plan was to replace powers (specifically brute pets) with the new powers, and VEATS benefit far more from pets than brutes do.
  13. This is the most clear evidence we have that some PvP players really don't understand PvE players.

A great many PvE players (probably the majority) like to collect sets, even though they could in theory play with just SOs. It gives them a way to advance thier character. Last time I looked you don't need badges to defeat PvE mobs either, but lots of people still collect them.

as for why have set bonuses been reduced in effectiveness in PvP, it's because of people like Lionsbane complaining that it's impossible to compete in PvP for players who can't spend endless hours farming. Do I agree with them? Not entierly, but since I don't PvP any more I don't care much.

Anything else, I guess you are talking about PvP, in which case, LOL.
  16. They said the didn't have time to do it now, but the would do it in the future.

I doubt they would do seperate sets for Arachnos Widows and Soldiers though.

Conan has a pretty significant comic book history, so that would make AoC a COMIC super hero MMO. :P
  18. It does mean GG can now go to Cimerora and gaze jealously at Sister Aria's hair.

  20. Yes, it says hero, villain or co-op.

It's because of the new Cimerora missions.

Given that debating is pointless with someone who is far to arrogant to ever accept anyone elses opinion as valid, one may as well make pedantic quibbles as strong arguments.

Fact: There is one super hero game

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    True

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Actually, its not.

There are the Freedom Force games to name but two. There are lots of games based on Spiderman, Iron man, theres Lego Batman etc. There are just hundreds of superhero games.

You meant MMOs? Well there is WoW for a start. Not a superhero game!? You show me someone who can shoot fireballs at people, and I will show you a superhero.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
Humbly, PRAF, since when has that stopped them? Many a change has been tossed in to stop farming/PLing/whatever which the players looked at and said "well, I can see how to get around that no trouble." It hasn't stopped it being done though.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Common forum logic:

They have done this because of X, but it won't work because of Y.

The implication being that the devs are to stupid to see Y.

When the truth is X is not the reason something has been done at all.

However, it becomes established wisdom that "the devs are often doing things for stupid reasons that don't work", when the truth is players are often wrong about the reasons.

So devs are u trying to slip these in here unnoticed to prevent more forum trolling or what?

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Probably.
But "undocumented changes" are hardly new...

Whether intentional or not there are always dozens (if not hundreds) of undocumented tweaks in every new Issue.

    QFE

You guys were more than capable of figuring out what the numbers were before they were reported in game...even before people were able to pull them straight out of the data files. I don't think anyone here believes that you've lost that ability. Thus, it makes absolutely no sense to not announce any changes, positive or negative, that are made to powers. You guys are just going to figure it out anyway, and it'll [censored] you off in the process.

If you're not seeing a patch note about power changes it's one of four things:
    1) It actually hasn't changed
    2) It was changed to fix some kind of exploit.
    3) It's a bug
    4) It was changed, and the patch note was simply missed.

If anything has changed to player powers, especially for PvP...it is most likely the third or fourth. Pretty much every single player power was touched in some way for PvP, and it's not entirely impossible that some kind of bug was introduced or it was an intentional change that missed getting a patch note.

But a stealth nerf? Utterly pointless. What could we possibly gain from trying to sneak a change through that you guys are going to find out about?

    [/ QUOTE ]
  25. Because they will have lots of other stuff to do then and because they wanted to use it in a minor way now (to see how it works if nothing else).
