It also works with the rikti invasion code. Pets can target appearing rikti when they are flagged as untargitable to players.
If you use assist on your pets, you can target them too!
(I think this might be considered an explot!) -
The other ploblem is the game engine doesn't support an "on attacked" power trigger. That is why it can't do the "reflect damage" type powers that you see in a lot of MMOs.

I think an elf-less, dwarfless, orc-less medieval setting might be quite original

the other options of Flurry, Jump Kick and Aerial Supremacy are intrinsically two handed animations
[/ QUOTE ]
Jump Kick two handed?!!!
It's not a matter of them not being able to make boxing not redraw, they clearly could, the point is, they WON'T do it because it would attract a lot of extra flack for the devs not doing the other powers, for absolutly no benefit BECAUSE BOXING WOULD STILL SUCK. -
'Bout time they diversified a bit!

Villains earn merits at exactly the same rate as heroes, in terms of merits/per hour. Villains have fewer arcs, and the avarage length is shorter, so if you add up all the merits in the list it comes to a much lower total than heroes, but it would take a hero much longer to earn all the story arc merits available than it would for a villain.
Statistically, it does make it easier for heroes to find arcs that can be speed-run. -
Well, I noticed the westernised version of Aeon is now due fall 09.

1) D&D ripped off a pseudo-medievil setting from Tolkain (although it's not really accurate to describe LotR as pseudomedievil as it had everything from 19th century to pre-Roman)
2) Warhammer ripped off D&D
3) Warcraft ripped off Warhammer
4) WoW became stupidly popular.
All this served to re-enforce the fantasy = peudomedievil cliche. -
I would not consider that adiquate justification, especially when you take into acouint that characters that don't use weapons, still find that Boxing sucks.
The devs would be weakening thier position for no real advantage, Boxing would still be rubbish.
What Boxing, Kick, Flurry and Jump Kick need is a real, significant buff, either in damage or secondary effect, that doesn't only benefit weapon users..
I had some ideas with combos, I'll post later if I have chance. -
[ QUOTE ]
would that explain why AVs & GMs aren't much affected by it?
[/ QUOTE ]
They have much higher base endurance (around 600 I think). -
[ QUOTE ]
Why no redraw on arch/TA then?
[/ QUOTE ]
Because you are using the same weapon.
[ QUOTE ]
that's a technical limitation, not rule
[/ QUOTE ]
Nope, it's not a technical limitation, it's quite possible, it's simply a matter of creating an alternative animations for using power X with weapon Y drawn.
As there are an awful lot of power Xs and weapon Ys, that would be a huge amount of extra animations. Hence the rule.
Because, if you make an exception for the fighting pool, then how do you justify not doing so for Flurry, or Jump Kick, or for every other power that cause redraw? The answer is, you can't. You would have to do all of them. In an ideal world, no power would cause redraw, but in an ideal world there would be 500 BAB clone slaves chained to desks to create the hundreds of new animations for no money. -
[ QUOTE ]
Cause it doesn't drain 35% from an AV's end bar, it just drains 35 end.
[/ QUOTE ]
Correct.
The % is a lie. -
[ QUOTE ]
Agree that the redraw should be cut for using it with weapons.
[/ QUOTE ]
Currently, the rule is, if you use a power from a different set, it causes redraw.
If they changed the rule for the fighting pool, they would have no justification for not changing the rule for all other sets as well, which would lead to an exponentially massive amount of work for BAB creating all the new animations. -
[ QUOTE ]
Because I am convinced that it should not be a tough endboss that makes a mission worthwhile doing.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's the way the game is, and it fits well with the genre. Superheroes should breaze through minions, and are only really challenged by the supervillains. -

Level 2 Dampening field
Keep the S/L resists and combine it with energy protection but give it a true grit treatment, not the full hp bonus though
7,5% hp
7,5% S/L/N/T
9,38% E
[/ QUOTE ]
Would leve the set overpowered by Castle's metric.
[ QUOTE ]
Level 28 Energy Drain
Allow it to take accurate healing sets, decrease the end you gain from 25% to 15%
[/ QUOTE ]
It's auto hit, why would it take Accurate Healing? Why nerf it?
[ QUOTE ]
Level 20 Repulse
Lovely GFX but in my opinion counterproductive to teams and situational solo
[/ QUOTE ]
True, but I think your alternative would have the same problem. How about replacing it with Repulsion Bomb, or a reduced radius Force Bubble, from the FF set? -
-
[ QUOTE ]
A level where you find the normal opponents a satisfying challenge.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, +2 non EBs = pushover, insignificant challenge. -
Nosferatu is an AV by default.
But he is still easy if you cap def, or stay at range. It's only when some **** tries to tank him with +res or regen that he becomes difficult. -
[ QUOTE ]
I fail to see a nobody like golden sphinx, 3k kelvin, Unnamed Longbow Balistae or biffs fall into the Darth Vader Category.
[/ QUOTE ]
They don't. That's why they are reletively wimpy EBs, not powerful AVs.
You could downgrade natural EBs to bosses, in the same way as AVs are doungrade to EBs but I really don't see the point, for these reasons:
1) There are very few natuaral EBs in the game, they are hugely outnumbered by AVs, so the people you are trying to help would still get hung up almost as frequently as before.
2) Take away the EB status of some mobs, and they may as well not exist at all. The whole point of LB Ballistae is they are EBs. That is what makes them distinctive. And wouldn't Frostfire be a real letdown, if he where only a boss?
[ QUOTE ]
I don't know exactly what they do with EB's but they are significantly harder to beat then a normal boss.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes. They may require a moments thought, rather than just plowing strieght through without noticing. -
I very goal orientated. If someone gives me a mission to defeat a villain, that's what I set out to do, by the most direct means possible. That may mean stealth, or it may mean flattening anything that gets in my way, depending on the abilities of the character I am playing.
Whichever, I do not believe in scouring evey cm2 of the villains lair to eliminate every last minion. -
[ QUOTE ]
one focusing on melee for solo'in
[/ QUOTE ]
You might be better with a Bane for that. They have far superior melee attacks.
If you want a crab for soloing, then focus on pets. -
It's not so much looked down upon, it's just that some of us find it difficult to see the point.
-
[ QUOTE ]
To take them down is a major victory and not something most AT's (or in my case even AT who should be able to do so ) can accomplish solo. To diminish them in power would be wrong.
[/ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Then there are EB's who are nothing but a speedbump.
[/ QUOTE ]
How are you distinguishing between these? Most of the ones you have mentioned seem to fall very firmly in the first catagory.
[ QUOTE ]
so much more high and might then a bossmob
[/ QUOTE ]
But they aresn't so much higher. EB HP and damage are really only a little higher than a regular boss. -
[ QUOTE ]
Enhancing your character with expensive stuff gives you something to -do- with your 50 after you're done leveling him, I guess.
[/ QUOTE ]
Indeed. The only real purpose for IOs.
