Black Wand. It makes me feel like Saruman!
"You have elected the way of pain!"

Should see the filter in Phantasy Star Universe. You can't say crack, stave, or poof. You also can't say Damn which is ironic because one of the npcs in that game says it constantly.

I had an idea for an arc called Saturday Morning Heroics. It would purposely be rather cheesy. But the thing is I wanted to have the contact be a phone because the idea would be that it is YOUR phone and people call you when evil needs defeating.
What I'm asking though, can anyone think of any objects that could work as a suitable substitute. I may end up just making the contact be an NPC who's supposed to be the town mayor. -
I've already advertised this on my SGs website. If we by some chance get too many people who actually want to run this we'll split into multiple groups. I intend to in the near future run all the TFs needed for the Task Force Commander and I figure I'll advertise it so anyone who needs to get them out of the way has a chance to sign up. If you need to contact me in game my global is @Ozzie Arcane and I'll be running the TF as my tanker Ultimo Girl.

Â…okay, how the hell did you pull that off? A whole bunch of kneeling untargetable enemies that stand up in waves.
[/ QUOTE ]
I could be wrong but I think he set them as hostages/allies that are enemies so the minute you save them they attack you.
Also I personally loved this arc. Sure the storyline isn't a grand masterpiece, but I liked the rest of it since most the enemies forced me to play differently then I would in a normal mission. -

A player commented "Couldn't solo on Invincable with my Defender, People like you are ruining MA. 1 Star."
in the description there's a warning stating that this is a Team Story arch, with multiple AV's at higher difficulties...
My fault for assuming people can read...
[/ QUOTE ]
This is funny because there are plenty of non MA non TF missions that you can't solo on invincible with a Defender. -
Thanks for the review. I admit it is hard to come up with a real reason why a player's character should be helping a contact, at least with villains. The ambushes were added due to a previous suggestion someone gave me. I was having them drop Agent Showtime's name, to make him seem like a nuisance that the player would want to get rid of. More or less they were after the villains, but seeing as you already clobbered them and you're the only villain in sight they decide to arrest you instead.
As for Ghost Widow, I used the Elite Boss version of her but with the signature characters like say her or Statesman. It always seems to list them as a Hero/Archvillain in the MA regardless of whether that's what they really are.
What happened with Sinister Showtime is probably due to another bug that seems to have popped up. Rescuing a hostage gets completed even if you don't walk close enough for them to talk to you as long as you kill their guards and he seems to always spawn up in this little area in the wall in the last room. This is something I noticed happening in a few arcs I've been running that other people made.
But your review has convinced me that if one of my arcs is going to go, it'll probably be this one. My Taskforce has more plays then this and that basicly requires a decent sized team unless you've got a good solo build. -
Portal Jockey doesn't have anything to do with a task force. Most of what you need for hero accolades can be gotten by street sweeping in the right zone. Villains it's a bit harder because we don't have hazard zones. As for the PvP badges, getting those should be easy if you just sit in a safe area and do something to avoid getting booted for being idle.

For the moment, I've more of less been leaving it up to the players imagination about how they encountered my contacts. At least that way no RPers will feel how they met the contact was out of character.
-
From what I've seen, the aware/unaware bug seems to have ended up in the regular non MA missions too.
-
Sorry I took so long to post this. I kept forgetting about it when I went on. Here is one minion that I made. I intended to make the lieutenants further corrupted and the bosses even more so.
This idea is kinda related to the Unigang arc I made awhile back and I think you were one of the people who played it before I took it down.. -

Make your origin arc be "my character came from you being awesome and beating this big bad and their evil scheme" and you'll see more success. I.e., make an arc where the player actually has something to do.
[/ QUOTE ]
I did something along those lines with my first arc. Made a villain arc where the player is basicly responsible for the origin of one of my characters. It's been pretty well recieved from the few who have played it. Doesn't have a ton of ratings but it's stayed at 4 with over half the ratings being from people I don't even know.
As far as the thing about descriptions going. Either one of two things happened a few days ago with my task force. Either I got griefed or someone ignored that it clearly stated that it wasn't intended for solo. But I also got a 5 star rating from someone who was bragging about soloing it... -
If you're referring to the baby new year map. No, it's not available.

Arc Name: Web of Deception
Arc ID: 75310
Faction: Villainous
Level: 40+
Synopsis: Aid President Evil in creating a gateway to an alternate dimension.
It's not kicking kitties Evil, but it's more evil then it sounds. -
I think I made a minion or two. I'll check next time I'm on.

They are. Brutes are NOT the tanks of CoV, as some people suggest. They are meant to have to work in concert with masterminds to mitigate damage through agro management. tryign to take on an entire room, or even an entire +2/+3 spawn without anyone else who can take a hit to help them is all ina day's work for a tanker, but brutes, or at least most brutes, simply can't pull it off.
[/ QUOTE ]
So which brutes can? Mine is a Dark/Shield.
[/ QUOTE ]
Stone can do it pretty well once they get Granite Armor.
[/ QUOTE ]
Doesn't that slow attack speed though? Why wouldn't shield do well for it? Isn't it an alternative to the armor powers?
[/ QUOTE ]
Haven't used it much myself, but I'm pretty positive shield is one of the "weaker" defensive sets. I'd seen a lot of people mention taking fighting to make it more survivable. But Granite is just insanely strong, it used to be Stone's panic button before they made it a toggle. But yes it slows your attacks and movement speed. One of my friends uses hasten and swift with 2 slots to compensate but with stone you only need a total of 2 toggles running at most since only rooted can be active at the same time as granite.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thx for the info. I may have to remake him in light of your details.
[/ QUOTE ]
Keep in mind, granite does have one weakness. It has no defense against Psychic. -

They were nice to look at. But I hated the game. The combat rules made no sense. Walk up to the enemy and then wait till next turn to punch them. Well since you moved up to them first, they now get a free hit on you. WHAT THE CRAP?! Even better, if you attack instead of skipping your next turn, you take a click of damage. Yay for people who don't know how to make a good game.

I thought demon worshipping hellions would look more interesting with the mutated look I was going to give them. Like horns, glowing eyes, etc.
Also, I could use "possessed duke modrogor" as a boss without making a custom for them. -
Interesting stuff. I had an idea for high level Hellions too. They were going to get their hands on some Superdyne that had been altered with dark magic.

I tend to use tickets to buy salvage I need, rather then buying it from the consignment house.

If the devs chose to include that feature I would not object to it. I'd even welcome it. Until such time as they do, though, it is part of the specification for all MA projects that they are accessible to groups of all sizes, including size 1, and should scale reasonably to both group size and difficulty setting. Attempting to subvert that is simply bad design, whether or not the intent to do is printed on the label.
[/ QUOTE ]
Let me just make sure I'm understanding this. Are you basicly saying that no one should EVER use an AV in their story arc, not even the standard ones? Because a lot of AVs aren't solo friendly for a lot of ATs, even if they're scaled down..
