  2. You can add Orion Zidane, @Orion Zidane, to the team of 3 for whatever day that is on. Really need that badge and destroyer of strength when that comes along.
  3. Yeah, tried that and really the only thing I left off was build up and MoG on their secondary regen. Could be the factor of why they wouldn't cooperate. Back to more testing I suppose.
  4. First off, I've read the patch notes and am well aware of the critter peppering and power difficulty is needed in a mission to receive 100% of the xp. However, this question is not about the best way to utilize spawns for reward.

My question comes from xp reward for putting custom powers in my mission's critters. I've used the "custom" column to assign powers I want to the critters. However, even setting every power available save maybe one is resulting in no xp/inf/reward for defeated critters upon playing the published arc. Only when I choose the pre-set Extreme/Hard/Standard settings do the rewards start flowing.

So, my question is that why am I not receiving any reward for choosing basically all the powers in my critter's primary and secondary and not receiving a reward when the patch notes state that the reward is based on the amount of powers the enemies have?

    Thanks for any advice.
  5. There was a discussion on eventually being able to manipulate animation times/damage/accuracy and damage type of powers in the ....distant future lead by Posi iirc.

That could be the only benefit to future customization ability... especially getting my scrapper away from S/L damage.
  6. Orion_Zidane

    MA/SD Scrapper

Attempt to cap resists through Tough and your tier 9. Use the rest of the IOs in your attacks to buff damage/hp/rech... and if you have to ability to buff a little of your def, it never hurts.
  7. I do fairly decent with my Ice/Rad in pvp zones. I hear that DR did smack /Rad in the face, but the -tohit and -resist still work fairly well in IR and EF. You may get mezzed and have your toggles drop, but after you're released, you have a pretty decent grace period in not getting mezzed again.

I'm just playing around with Power Mastery as my APP since power blast seems to do the most ranged damage (edit: without being grounded to activate), resist stacks with the auto-resist you receive in pvp, and conserve helps with end management when fighting the popular sapper builds.

Since holds last only for so long to do containment damage, I guess I'd suggest an easy ranged damage attack in the APPs. Stone does do high numbers, but you need to be on the ground the activate throw boulder and put yourself in close range for Seismic. Forget the +def armor but Earth's embrace is always good (though affected by DR)

One last thought -- though your holds aren't toggle dropping against players, their armor and all buffs are reduced to zero effectiveness when they're mezzed.
  8. Yeah I'll try it again. I'm trying just about everything before I go through a strenuous process of explaining my issue to a tech team that will take about a week to reply.

I'm halfway in between software experience. My education only goes into manufacturing processors... but not installing

So, would it be wise to uninstall the current driver and let the download try to bring back the one contained within the files? If it doesn't work I'm stuck w/o music I guess... but I have a radio next to me just in case.
  9. I've tried about every setting combination within CoX to try to resolve the problem as well as running the client w/o extraneous programs in the background.

Seems that the download must not have contained the driver as illustrated. I find it quirky anyway that driver info that I have displays the 3/3/08 version but the diagnostics posted show a 2007 version.

I think CREATIVE is weeding out its XP updates anyway... basically everything on their site is for Win7 and Vista info. XP seems to be the only windows I can stand, so it's really unfortunate.
  10. Ty again, but the second option is only for an supported Audio pack. I did download and ran the software, but that was before posting the CoH help and HiJack.

"This suite of driver and application has been updated and combined for your convenience. It installs Creative Audio Console to control your audio device's settings. For more details, read the rest of this web release note."

I see it's a combined driver and app, but only seems to be the app. If you believe that it was supposed to contain the driver as well, I guess it's a customer service request to the CREATIVE online help.

And we all know how helpful customer service can be.

    Anyway, thanks for your input.
  11. I see what you're saying too about the 2007 info. Not sure why I have two sources for the audio displaying different info.

    Here's the HiJack info too...

  12. Excuse my for the long first post and tyvm for the helper link.

Well I did look at that download for the 2009, but if you read the text describing it, it's only for Vista and Win7. and was not updating the driver since I have WinXP :

    "Requirements:

    * Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit, Windows 7 32-bit, Windows Vista 64-bit with Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Windows Vista 32-bit with SP1
    * PCI Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio"

Oddly enough, my system info claims that my driver in device manager does say its date is 03/03/2008 version 5.12.1.621.

PS., CREATIVE has software for an auto-updater to check current versions of its apps installed and drivers, and any new Win XP update does not show--only software for music and banking management.

  13. Hi

I'm having a QoL issue with my sound after a few years of playing CoH/X. Not sure the exact date when it happened, but the sfx are cutting out with my current audio card.

Unfortunately, after some web search I seem to be up to date with a driver released for Windows XP in 2008.

The issue with the sfx is the sound in inconsistant and.... well creepy is how it plays out. Gun shots, fires, grunts from jumping, etc. all have low, drawn out sounds that are barely recognizable. Not a loop, but the tone goes from low to high or vice versa. It literally sounds like ghosts are screaming out of the speakers. I know, right?

Anyway, here's the DxDiag. I can't get a good link to CoH helper, and the new forums seem to forbid me posting a HiJack file.

Any help would be great! Thanks!

*EDIT: shrunk this first post to display more direct info down the thread for CoH Helper and HiJack

    New to PvP

I'm not sure how a well-built MA stands up in PvP... because it looks good on paper... but WP is out of the question for a reasonable secondary.

Agreed to go ahead and keep it, but regen is top dog and incredibly far and in between the other secondaries.

Your build seems to revolve around building acc and rech I guess? However, DO NOT put anything but damage in to your attacks. The pvp that's in our game is about pumping out as much damage as quick as possible with cheap tools only exploited as the secondary to your attacks as a scrapper.

Also, don't worry about defense in your build. WP tries to mix it within but the numbers are A.) too low on a scrapper to make a difference (even with IOs), and B.) the defense you were able to bump up just a little bit will be borked down in a pvp setting unless you are fighting in the arena w/o DR. PS: same goes for recharge and regen.

Best solution is probably to pick up webnade in your APP and focus on beefing up your hp and getting strength of will ready most of the time. You can cap your resist that way with Tough for when it's down. Just wail on your opponents and try to survive... since I don't think you'll be able to fit in aid-self w/o taking out a much needed power pool.

Good luck from a regen scrapper on Champ.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
As a sidenote, one need not take the Concealment:PhaseShift power. Ever, unless you're desperate to phase self in Bloody Bay or Siren's Call prior to reaching level 30.

From level 30-50, you can get HyperPhase by doing 5 minute patrol of Warburg. HyperPhase is good for 30 minutes of on time, which at a max of 30 seconds per use, means you get at least 60 uses. Should that ever run out, just patrol Warburg again.

    [/ QUOTE ]

To add another sidenote, these phase powers aren't 100% reliable. There's a decent duration of time after clicking the temp power that an animation for the phase has to play out. I've been spiked quite a few times before it was able to play out in SC

The power pool and the phase you can buy at the market are almost instantaneous when clicked. However, the power pool will take up precious power options and the temp power has a limited number of charges (5?). The temp also can not be shut off once activated and you will have to wait through its timer.
  16. On a side note, it's pseudo-useful in pvp as a quick way to immob a jumping target as a team can catch up to the enemy.

But no, I agree it's useless in a global sense.

Mondays? Really? Even if the two first letters don't match up... some other day might be better
  20. I have the name "Espionage" on a stalker I'd trade for something more intresting.

Just can't seem to level the little booger up without boring myself to tears.
  21. Controller pets, and even the pets of other players, still run away from burning oil slicks.

Where as a small fix has been made to this oil slick problem (pets will only run away if the oil slick is damaging an enemy), it is still causing melee pets to become ineffective while it is being used as an attack.

My fire/TA controller is having the problem with his imps. I've heard imps being the most prone to *this bug other than jack and sings but reports of other primaries still say they have a problem.
