Mirror Universe Spock has much to answer for, not the least of which is an entire prog-rock band...

I think I've given out rep at all less than a dozen times, and I only glanced at my own rep comments once a couple of months ago. It doesn't matter, I don't care, and it's mostly a waste of my time to bother with it.
YMMV. -
Nope.
He posted here to show off a relatively cheap build.
If he'd posted in the scrapper forum, he would get advice on how he could improve his build slightly for only 2 billion or so more. ^_^ -
Yeah, very good raid, even though it was an impromptu one. Virtue's excellent for hami raids.
If you're still on, send me a tell. -
Contact me tonight, I could help a bit I'm sure. @shinobu or @shinobu valentine. I should be on somewhere between 3:30 PM and 6PM PST.
(Mind you, I just installed Aion Online last night as well.)
Fulmens was advertising influence transfers not too long ago, but I don't remember which servers he has his money on. -
Right now I have 4 scrappers at level 50, but my newest, Shinobu Dragonheart, is MA/Invul and I have a very complete build with soft-capped smashing/lethal defense... it's a blast to run a mission set for 8, pick Council, and pretty much wade into as many enemies as I possibly can. I'll have guys standing two feet from me with their back turned because I've reached the aggro cap, and they won't turn to fight until several of their compatriots have fallen first.
Lotsa fun. ^_^ -
That's a very good offer from Smurphy. I think Fulmens would charge 10%, if he was able to do it? I'd probably charge 10% as well.
-
Ditto. For a high end item like that, and assuming there are not a lot of others for sale... I'd just wait. If there are a significant number of others for sale, then I might pull and relist it, but only if i really needed the money from a quicker sale (or to free up slots).
I generally never list for the actual going or peak rate. A couple of things to always consider:
1. If there are virtually no others for sale, then you're much safer listing at the price you actually want to sell at.
2. If there are a lot of others for sale, then you want to list low enough that it will sell, but high enough that you won't be lowballed. This is admittedly trickier with a high-end item like you're selling. For normal (uncommon/rare) level 50 IOs I tend to calculate how much it cost me to create and determine my minimum sell point, and then make sure I'm listing at something that isn't a round number... so if I want to sell for over 2 million, I will list at 2.1 mill, or even 2,000,001. Just so people don't bid 2 mill exactly and grab it. If I'm content to sell at 2 mil then I'll actually list at maybe 1.9 mill or something. If the going price is about 5 mil, and there are quite a few for sale, I might list much lower... 3.6 mil, 3.1 mil. The odds are good that I'll sell in a day or two and probably for the going rate of 5 mil.
I've listed things too high on several occasions... often with semi-expensive rare IOs. At one point I listed a bunch of Aegis Resist IOs for something like 27 million a piece, when 29-30 mil was the high water price. I sold a few but I wound up with a lot that wouldn't sell, and the price fell to below 20 million. I think I was buying the recipes for less than 10 million, so listing them for so much was just me being greedy. I eventually had to pull them down and relist them at something more reasonable, like around 20 mil. I've done the same thing with LOTG Defense IOs, which sell for a lot but I've accidentally listed them close to the high water price, and there was always someone selling them or less than me.
But if I see that there's only 1-5 of something for sale, I'll list it at the best price I think I can get. -
I've been playing my now 50 MA/Invul scrapper Shinbu Dragonheart, and I've decided that +2 / 8 man team / no bosses works really well for massive slaughter, provided I pick Council or some other enemy that is largely melee/smashing/lethal. I can wade into groups as large as I want... in fact groups so large that many of them just ignore me because of the aggro cap. It's weird to have that many enemies attacking you, and others standing a foot away with their back to you, acting all casual as if nothing's going on. ^_^
Haven't really played much with the settings on any other characters yet. I did dual-box for a bit today and a single radio mission full of Council netted me levels 21 and 22 on a spines scrapper on my 2nd account. Not bad. ^_^
(And then, because soloing /dual-boxing like that is boring, I played just the spines scrapper and gained 3.5 more levels on a regular mission team.) -
Here's what you do:
1. Make a character named "Sewer Brawler".
2. Go straight to Atlas.
3. ONLY fight on sewer teams... for 50 levels.
4. Six slot Brawl and put it on auto as your main attack! -
I noticed Fortunes were selling for 1,000 or possibly less. They were recently selling for 50,000 to over 100,000. Not sure if that means common (and uncommon) salvage prices are dropping across the board, but if they do, that wouldn't surprise me much.
My main hasn't sold anything in two days. It's all stuff that was selling last weekend.
Anecdotally speaking, I'd say a lot of people are at Icon's (not spending money at the Market), playing brand new toons (who do not need IO'd yet), not making tons of money off of AE tickets as they were before (and therefore not spending that money), and that more people are running regular missions (or soloing them set to large spawns) and selling the salvage and items they get. -
Bonus points for the character having *only* the influence from that single sale.
-
Just as an addendum... didn't find a team immediately last night, and I thought, "Hey, I'm a team all by myself now!" I solo'd a full level, from just a bit into level 49, all the way to 50, just by running 4 radio missions. Radio missions are suddenly a lot more fun! ^_^
That's 4 level 50 scrappers for me now, woo! I don't have any others anywhere close to even level 30 now though... well, except for the original Organica on Pinnacle... but maybe it's time to start a new one... >.> -
+2 / 8 man spawn of Council = hours of fun.
+2 / 8 man spawn of Carnival of Shadows = about 6 seconds of fun.... -
Green Phantom Army.
Pink Dark Servant.
I didn't think I'd like the MA punches, but it really is a nice change of pace. Mix of punches and kicks, they mostly replace the really high-flying kicks so hopefully the "street fighting" crowd will be happy.
Fighting 30 or more Council at once, solo, +3 to me? Awesome! -
Yeah, even +3/8 was no cakewalk. I died once, and I found myself low on endurance after each long fight (which I had thought wasn't a problem for me anymore).
Also: I like MA animations as they are, but since you can do each costume different I went with punch animations for one costume. Can't change Dragon's Tail or Crane Kick, but the mix of punches and kicks is actually quite nice. ^_^
I turned it down to +2/8 man spawn... I think that's just about perfect for me, lots of spawns, not too tough. Most of the time I just like killing tons of enemies. When I want a real challenge I can turn it up again. -
So I set my difficulty at +3 (wasn't ready to go all the way on my first try), team size to 8, grabbed a CoT radio mission... and I'm fighting giant level 53 all-purple giant spawns with 2-3 bosses each, at level 49 (so that's actually +4 on some groups).
...it's almost like every spawn group in a mission is a mini-RWZ challenge. ^_^
Also, I'm doing just fine. Not blasting through the mission, but not really having to employ strategy yet either. I do have to eat my inspirations, for once! -
Very nice!
Yeah, picking the perfect spot for your "I'm rich!" photo can be a bit tricky. ^_^ I really should have posed my villain in a casino, for example.... -
Inside joke, based on people who regularly complain about the market because a casual player can't afford full sets of purples and then blame it on evil marketers. ^_^
Although... I have two Warshades in the 30's that I eventually plan to play up and probably IO out to the best of my ability.... >.> -
Top is before, bottom is characters after being hit by a gender-change bug (which also sometimes removed part of their head).
Somewhere i have pictures of armless Freakshow bosses. That wasn't too long ago, and it was amusing. ^_^
(I just realized, if I still have any of these characters left, I could finally switch them back.) ^_^ -
Here's Shinobu Dragonheart's build. I don't really claim to be an expert or anything, but I'm fairly happy with what I have. Probably need to tweak it a bit.
This is a PvE build with emphasis on smashing/lethal defense. I only have the 1 purple in Eagle's Claw, which I suppose is wasted if I don't pair it with another from the set... but I wanted to add 1 more IO to help out my set of 4 Kinetic Combat. I could probably get rid of the +accuracy Kismet in Tough Hide and put another Hecatomb in EC.
I'm sure the set of Kinetic Crash in Crane Kick isn't absolutely necessary, and it doesn't max out my damage, but it's one of the cheapest sets in the build and it's awfully fun to send bad guys flying. ^_^
Not an especially cheap build, even if you leave off the Hecatomb.
Other than that... I'm not a numbers cruncher so I'm sure the build could be tweaked quite a bit, but I know it gives me excellent smashing/lethal defense (maybe even more than I need), good damage, relatively decent recharge, and I have no endurance issues (level 48 at the moment so I don't have Weave yet).
That should at least give you something to look at.

I think, of all my top level characters, the only one I really don't ever feel like playing is my first 50, my axe/fire tanker. It's just... eh. Probably because of burn, I guess, but /fire was never a great defensive set, but burn more than made up for that... and I know it could be a very good character if I respec'd and use IOs but I probably never will.
I'm kind of at the same point with my 41 Peacebringer. Too late I realized that I really like Warshades better, and then I got several blasters up to 40 and one of them to 50 and... my PB feels like a weak blaster/blapper most of the time. I just like specialists more I guess.
I do want to get my PB to 50, but I really need to figure out a good IO build first I guess.
Still love playing my fire/fire blaster. Having recently IO'd my illusion/rad troller, she is extra fun to play now. My brute and MM are fun, my SoA's are fun. My other tanks (four of them at 32+, one at 50) are fun. Even my dark/arrow defender is a ton of fun. And scrappers... well, I'm at level 48 on Shinobu Dragonheart, she'll be my 4th level 50 scrapper. Then I need to make a shield scrapper, or play up one of my other 4 MA scrappers, or finally get my original scrapper Organica to 50. ^_^
