I almost forgot to add the sad, sad story that came at the end of the second ITF:
I got a Coercive Persuasion drop... and then accidentally vendored it.
It actually hurts me less than most people, but still... grrr. -
I deliberately referenced Ray Stevens in the title and then a bit of Mojo Nixon after, because both songs were in my head for this. ^_^
And yeah, he's only an EB... but it's still a nice bit of extra experience. -
Rommy is everywhere!
Rommy is everything!
Rommyis everywhere!
Rommy is still the king!
We ran two ITFs tonight -- one with Windwolf's PB and then one with my WS Squiddy Kitty. Just couldn't get enough of that Rommy guy!
This might be an even better bug than the exploding rikti drone one! -
Obligatory post to keep Guy's prediction from coming true.
No, kidding. I actually wanted to say that I joined a team yesterday and was almost immediately sent a tell by someone else asking if they could join my team. Never mind that it was a full team and I wasn't the leader -- do people just sit around looking at search to see who's already on a team and then spam e-mail them? Sheesh. -
-
I love that Rommy bug. In fact, I need to start an ITF with my War Shade to see if I can do it on purpose. But the one I was on where we got the bug, one of them spawned in the ambush that appears right after you zone in to the final mission. I loved the idea that Rommy was trying to jump us right at the start -- no more of this AV waiting at the end of the mission for you! Here I come!

It's an experiment on my part to see what's possible. I actually have another premium account with a single 50 on it, fully IO'd, that I'm doing the invention license thing on. I was just curious what you could manage to accomplish with no invention license and what it would cost, since that's kind of the point (or one of them) of store-bought enhancements in the first place.
-
Unfortunately, in the case where you've applied your account unlocks as extra slots on Exalted, you can transfer all your characters from Exalted but when you drop to Premium you won't be able to unlock any characters on any other server without buying new slots.
-
8. The Exalted Server. Which is an even bigger problem if
9. ....you've used your global unlocks on that server. This happened to someone else recently, and they weren't able to play any characters at all because their global unlocks allowed with a Premium account were locked behind the VIP-only server. -
From my experience, Virtue (originally one of the "West Coast" servers) is more active during West Coast prime times, and Freedom (originally one of the "East Coast" servers) seems most active earlier than that -- East Coast prime times.
But both are probably still more active at 11 AM EST than many other servers. -
They should have included a dog muzzle temp power....

1. Best option: Order GR from Amazon for $6.35 (fulfilled by Amazon partners and available for free shipping) or $2.99 + shipping (other venders). Wait about 3-4 days, apply to current account. You now have everything that comes with GR including side switching, Praetoria, Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning.
2. Buy from Paragon Market -- but there's no "buy GR" option so far as I know, you have to buy each thing separately. Ability to make Praetorian does not grant Dual Pistols or ability to side-switch.
3. You can, by the way, create any AT on any side now. Except for kheldians (epic hero AT = always starts hero) and Soldiers of Arachnos (epic villain AT = always starts villain).
4. There are a lot of new cool sets out. Dual Pistols is very flashy and works well for a lot of specific character concepts of course, but it's generally considered an average or slightly underperforming set... just as a warning, not everyone enjoys it.
Other sets that have come out since GR include: Time Manipulation, Beam Rifle, Street Justice, Titan Weapons, Darkness Control, Beast Mastery... maybe one or two that I'm forgetting. Staff Fighting should be out very soon. -
There really is no official April Fool gag this year.
Really.
Honest! -
Also, with all of the honking and squeaking and whoopie-cushion noises, we have finally have something even more annoying than demon or beast pets. :/

Well, part of the problem is the revamped MM ATOs. Enhancing silliness works only for Clown MMs! Yes, I know a single Clown MM can throw pies in the face of every AV in the final mission of STF simultaneously, I've seen the video, but having one single overpowered MM set does not mean that the set as a whole is fine.
My robot pets are only marginally silly when I have them use the silly walk emote... I mean really, people smile, maybe one or two giggle, but that's it. I feel the new silly-enhancing ATO is kinda wasted on bots. But it just makes Clown MMs even more ridiculously effective at what they do. -
-
Looks like you landed a few nice ones there skipper!
-
If you're only planning to play one or two characters, and they're already fully IO'd out, then the invention license is pretty cheap -- about 160 points a month I think? Which equals about $2.00?

Quote:Oops. And yeah, I forgot about Phalanyx Fighting.yer selling your build short. you didn't have CJ or Manuevers toggled. the numbers are actually 48% melee, 42.4% ranged, 42.4% AoE. Parry puts you at 63%
If one teamate is close to you Phalanyx Fighting will boost your numbers to 45%
looks like you've got some flexibility. should be a fine build.
Just for the heck of it, here's another approach with Body Mastery and an attempt to near-softcap before taking Phalanyx Fighting or Parry into account. I obviously don't need to softcap like that, but also I probably don't need Fire Blast either, so it's an either/or kinda thing:

I have a premium account with one character on it -- a broadsword/shield brute. Not necessarily the best set for an SO-only build, but I added some ATOs and Store Bought Enhancements and that helped.
Then I got to thinking... as an experiment, how well could I build my IOless brute using hami-Os, ATOs, and SBOs? There are quite a few Store Bought Enhancement sets available to work with.
Note that this wouldn't necessarily be cheap -- I'd be sinking some money into SBO's. I was just curious what I could accomplish. Haven't actually done it yet, my brute is only 36 so far. But it looks like I could do a near-IO build without IOs.
From Mids it looks like I can get 41.8% melee defense 36.2% ranged 36.2% AoE. One application of Parry puts me at 56.8% melee defense. I don't think I can softcap all 3 positions but that seems really good for no actual IO's. I could softcap melee by using Obliteration sets in place of Multi Strikes, but since Melee is the one thing that parry will cover, that seems silly.
I could probably bump my other defenses a bit more by ditching Char and Fire Blast and pulling slots from there, and maybe not using the ATO's --and possibly Body Mastery would be a better epic pool --but overall I think I'd be satisfied with how this build performs. Any thoughts?

Broken tip in Talos Isle, I headed' for the train,
Feelin' a dire need for some XP.
Barky knocked a warrior down, just before the hill;
Drug a gang of sword freaks back to me.
I flashed my fearsome stare and started shooting elite slashers,
And was firing holds while Barky jumped around.
With them broadsword swingers slashin' me,
And Barky breathing black,
We finally planted every warrior in the ground.
Freedom's just another word for playin' without pay:
Premie ain't got nothin' but it's free.
Barking loud comes easy, Lord, when my pet starts to growl.
Barky's bark is loud enough for me;
Loud enough for me and Barky McHowl.
From the streets of Steel Canyon to the Cimemoran sun,
Barky barked his his head off every night.
Standin' right beside me, Lord, through every ITF run,
Barky barked at everything in sight.
Then somewhere in a Lady Grey, Lord, I let him slip away,
Chasin' a runner into another riot.
And I'd trade all my dark control for a pet that didn't bray,
Stoney's ugly, but at least he's quiet.
Freedom's just another word for playin' without pay:
Barkin's all that Barky does for me.
It gets pretty noisy, Lord, when my pet barks and growls.
Barky's bark is loud enough for me;
Loud enough enough for me and Barky McHowl.
