Title of thread made me think of this. Good News Everyone
-
While i try to make a check list of the things to buy for making a new PC, i got a random question: Did they ever make a Blu-Ray player for PCs? (Don't care if they did but it popped into my mind when reading the many different DvD Drives you guys are listing.)
While checking my current PC for some stuff with my friend he noticed that was a 2nd Display Adapter, says it might be part of the current problems i'm having. If so how do i get rid of the weaker one? I'm not touching anything till i get some good advice.
The Display Adapters are.
NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE
NVIDIA GeForce 8400GS
Side Note: While this PC will become a Browsing/Test Games PC, anyone have a virus free* Game Booster?
*I never trust sites that have Ads that say "Download Now/Play Now" makes it hard to find the real DL Button. -
When i read that first thing that came to mind was Go Space Broncos!*
*Best version i could find with just that scene.
For me it's not about the teams but about the plays! -
Quote:That's mostly what i plan to play. May or May not find any more that look good for PC.Okay. That's a fairly simple group of games to get a system together for.
Quote:Okay, a realistic budget.
Quote:Honestly, don't waste your time or money on Alienware. They're essentially relabeled Dell boxes at a premium price. Labeled as "gaming" PCs becuase they have a discrete (but low-end) video card from a non-Intel manufacturer.
Quote:If you're not reusing, you're pretty much building from scratch
Quote:"Lag" is a "catch all" phrase for a lot of people. Not all of them have anything to do with the graphics system.
Quote:Here's a build option:
Case
PSU (Comes as a combo with the case)
Motherboard
Memory
CPU
Vidcard
OS Drive
Optical
OS
$1261.75 shipped.
Haven't included a keyboard or mouse.
Quote:Found something comparable at CyberPowerPC (Link is the link)
Here's something comparable at iBuyPower (A bit more expensive, but the upgraded card is the 3GB model instead of the 2GB.)
The only thing this would be missing would be a large hard drive (either internal or external) for storage. -
Quote:I did the same thing in a way. CoH was my 1st MMO but i was not new to gaming, I often saved up what ever Healing items there where in any Video game i played for the super hard fights,The Last Boss, Secret Bosses(Which in some games proved to be 10Times as powerful as end game boss).CoH was not my first MMORPG. In other MMO's I'd played cosumables such as health potions were either expensive or otherwise hard to come by. So I was reluctant to use inspirations much except when I REALLY needed them.
Now, over eight years later, I STILL hoard inspirations for when I REALLY need them.
I had often found ways to scare my SG Buddy, any where, any time. (Which made me laugh like the joker, even when i didn't mean to scare him.)
I didn't know how to solo when i 1st started playing, so i often spam Broadcast looking for team.
Toke 3 Months to get my 1st character to 50 to be my 1st 50. Was a Sonic/Ice Blaster, had about 2 or 3 pool attacks.
Had made a "Spider" farm one time that was giving AV levels of Xp (Still don't know how i did it.) when most others where giving Boss and EB levels of Xp. Every Character i made using said farms got deleted since i didn't enjoy them at 50.
All i can recall for now. -
With Jay on this. To attack NCSoft don't go thou a retailer or else they are the ones that get hit not NCSoft. Not that i say go attack NCSoft.

Here's the Code box. Think that covers most of the things i need/looking at. If i forgot anything let me know.
Code:1) What will you primarily be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc *** Mostly Gaming, New C&C 17th Anni 'box' (Has most of the C&C Games) Guild Wars 2. Champaions Online. Firefall. Minecraft. City of Heroes. 2) What's your budget? (Real Dollars) Are tax and shipping included? This is important as it allows people trying to help you to suggest things appropriate to your budget. *** About $800 to $1,500 at most. 3) Where do you live? This is important as it affects what vendors you may buy from and how much shipping costs might be. *** East Cost, North Carolina, US 4) Are you planning to buy or build? *** Ether or. Getting to the point where i need to upgrade to even play any games on PC. If Making going to need a lot of advice. If Buying i'm looking at the Alienware X51(http://www.dell.com/us/p/alienware-x51/fs). 5) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need. If you're unsure what exactly you need, say so. *** Unsure sadly. 6) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model. *** Don't think i'll be reusing. 7) Will you be overclocking? *** Not Likely. 8) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have? *** Have 19in i think, may go for a 22in if it can fit in bugdet. 9) When do you plan on building/buying the PC? *** Soon as possable, aiming for Self X-Mas Gift. 10) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? etc. *** USBs at least (Keyboard,Mouse,Phone Charger, USB for files/links. So at least 4 if possable.) Maybe SLI, if fits budget. 11) Any specific must-have features? Must be able to max out Ultra-Mode? Must have 6+GB of RAM? Must have an SSD? etc. *** At least 4GB, able to play at Decent Grapihcs with next to no lag. 12) Are there any vendors/brands you'd specifically prefer to use? *** NVidia 13) Are there any vendors/brands you'd specifically prefer to avoid? *** No ATI/AMD. 14) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit? (Note: If your current OS came with your computer, odds are that it is NOT transferable.) *** Might, would have to check, Current is Windows 7, 32Bit. Which is better for Gaming, 32 or 62?

I'm looking over Hyperstrikes Guide, Talking to my Mother(Handles my money, can't trust me with it hehe.) and a Friend(Some Spec's/PC Info) on what i "need". I'll be post the [Code Box] thing once i get all the info i need on a few things like my Budget and what some of the things i need to put down is. Ether i'll edit into this post later or make a 2nd post.
Would it help any if i post What game i will be using the PC for? Almost thinking of post current PC Specs just to see how badly i need a upgrade*.
*Current PC plays CoH (Near low Graphics) fine but any other MMO i try my FPS takes a dive. -
-
Should i just make a new thread so this topic wont go off course too badly? If this gets answered yes, let me know where to post and i edit a link into this post later.
On Topic: Angry Joe's reviews are a fun thing to watch and learn about games that you may or may not want to play, he even says GW2 is not perfect but enjoys it greatly.
I enjoyed most of his videos even about games i don't like or play. -
Just great, had a whole post made up and the forums decide "NOPE" and i lost it all.
Basic Summery of post.
Game is good, liked the underwater fighting, only got to lv4 before i got hungry.
Need new PC (Thinking a Alienware X51), game atm runs form 1FPS to 9FPS(if I'm lucky). Current PC is a pile of junk that's not meant for gaming. -
Well a friend of mine bought me the game to play with him. I got it fully downloaded and every thing but the server he plays(Crystal Deseret) is always full when i try to log in, so i'm waiting for him to wake up to ask what we should do.

I would like to see a badge.
Badge name: (Someone come up with a good one!)
Info: Saved The City Form The World Ending NCSoft Monster! -
Too bad my PC can't handle The Secret World* other wise i would try it out at least.
*I blue screen EVERY time i try to log in.
Go's something like, Log In Screen, Enters log in info, clicks log in, says something about getting character list, Screen enters power save mode for what ever reason, Clt-Alt-Del take about 5 minutes to even work, trys to start task manger then blue screen. -
CoH Mods for Minecraft and a Paragon Craft city would be a reason for me to get Minecraft for PC after i buy a new PC.

Quote:Sounds like me, CoH has been my life for 5 years, i started around when i was 17, 22 now. I don't do so well in public and this was a great way for me to talk to people, i meet many good people, even befriended a few.I think I noted in my previous post that I suffer from depression--actually a very bad case of it. And, being reclusive, I don't have much social life. Well, the depression is hitting me hard today.
The loss of this game is going to blow such a huge hole in my life. I really don't know what I'm going to do without it. I'm writing letters and signing petitions, but I'm still very afraid.
I'm trying to play all the content i have never gotten around to. After nearly 6 years, last night I joined my first Hami raid. But a pall seems to hang over everything.
sorry to be grousing.
Been trying my best by playing my PS3 and Xbox360 just to try to get out of this depressing mood. -
I wonder what he is working on.
-
Awww man, i really wanted to play Bio-Armor on live.
-
ill send one later when i can.
Edit: Sent! -
I'll try to be there with Arbiter Nogard, my Crab Mind.
-
Quote:I'm sure there's nothing out there that really matches with CoH.Not sure how many would be. They'll eventually have to do something with graphics which might cut off a bunch of users. Trust me, went through that elsewhere.
--------------------------
Played Issue #1 through Issue #12. Occasional play for a couple more issues, then gone.
Back now till the end. One 50: Ella Tundra, Earth/Ice Tank.
I played CO about a year back to try it, meh no holding power there.
DCUO is nothing more then a PS3 game, no holding power there ether.
Guess i'll be done with MMOs for a while, i'll stay with my PS3/Xbox360 games and maybe pick up the 17th Anni C&C box, i'm missing a few of the C&Cs and for $50 its not a bad deal for 17ish games with Art/CD. -

Be lucky you still have yours, i lost mine years ago, now i am sad i don't have it.
