CONGRATULATIONS DEFIANT!! We managed to take down not just one but two rikti warships
Thanks all for joining, just by showing up and whacking stuff helped greatly. Also a big thanks to those kind enough to ruin they're builds to make room for group flight.
I would like to apologize for the amount of inactivity at the start of the raid, seems rather fickle getting a raid to start in the right zone these days...
I also would like to apologize for the fact that we couldn't get to stage 2 of the event, the rikti mothership raid. Hopefully next time we will get the first part of the raid out of the way quicker, although we did get to dine on calamari for the evening.
Rikti Rage photo album, slideshow on the first page
Hopefully rikti rage 2 will go a lot smoother for both villains and heroes next time
Also just to grab peoples interest i have a Christmas event planned for the server, i just need to get some minor details sorted with my co-coordinator before we can announce it -
Right here are those photos i promised you all
Slideshow on first page of album for those that are lazy -
Right villain side raid was sadly a failure, but i have learned a few things to help with 2moro's raid. With just two 7 man and one 6 man teams we managed to make a noticeable chunk in the ships hp, however due to its fast speed we were not able to finish the ship off before it escaped our reach.
So from this we learned 2 things one it is possible with 3 reasonable sized teams, so if our numbers on sunday are even more then that we should be able to dish out the damage needed to take it down. The second thing is fly speed, cause the flyer is fast it will be highly recomended that people bring a flying character with a fast Fly speed (2 fly IO's) or a kin on the team to speed them up. If you one of the kind souls bringing group fly i also suggest 2 fly IO's and if possible a kin for speed boost to join the team.
The last thing about the raid we learned was that we need a rally point for every available hero zone that is targetable by a rikti raid. Sadly i have run out of time tonight to scope for such locations and am working all day 2moro before the raid so i need some brave souls with free time on they're hands to log on and find a noticeable area that's near to a rikti warship spawn point. This way when the raid occurs on sunday we can direct everyone to that point asap.
So for example Sharkhead isle: north of "The Crush" - small pier near the isle. Anyone that can get some locations like these but for hero side can please post here. Right that's all my free time for the night so ill everyone tomorrow -
Not going to force you mate, but the more the better imo

In someways i see these new changes as awesome as well as annoying too. A few issues ago the Swords used to be a large SG, big enough for the sg to split up and do heroside v villain side base raids (which was awesome btw) now days we are stuck with 2 moderately sized bases with only 4-6 people left to earn prestige for and to be blunt its turning out to be too much of a chore. Seeing as how these changes are now going to make it so that i don't have to waste loads of personal time doing prestige farming, I'm all up for the price changes since it means we can now expand the base to the size we always wanted, without having to worry about rent all the time.
On to my next point i do agree however that it is somewhat redundant that in order to get back a lot prestige i am going to have scrap everything and then rebuild it all again. Unless the dev's give us a of site storage room for all our base items which we have been asking for for ages. Overall i believe the base building interface should of been changed first before introducing all these price changes, other then that the new prestige prices are welcome and so is the massive drop in rent. -
Not seeing much interest for this villain side, if anyone is joining in (especially with group fly) can they post up here please so i have a better idea of how many teams we can form.

Can anyone think of any way you could take down a team like this?

Oh god i don't even want to think about that, an army of 126 trying to fit in there >_< -
Was kinda hoping our side of the pond would have got the site update by now. Oh well hopefully we will have by the time i get back from work tonight but that's just wishful thinking...

Hey all Omega MCX here, In case anyone hasn't been checking the defiant hero side I will be starting up a new event based on Robot Rampage, this new raid idea is called Rikti RAGE!!
Rikti RAGE will be taking place for the villain side on November the 15th at 7:30pm.
To start things off everyone will meet up in one zone most likely cap since its the best spot in villains, and form teams, this is why i say a 7:30pm start since it can take roughly 30 mins to organize so fairly made up teams where everyone has access to a team member with group flight. Hopefully before 8pm we will have the teams sorted and can get on with the raid. we will then wait for a rikti raid to occur (if a raid ends up taking a while to start we can always hunt giant monsters while we wait). when a raid starts up everyone will then proceed to the targeted area. Upon reaching the area we shall attempt to take down a rikti warship or two which will probably be a first for defiant since i have never seen defiant pull this off, so it would be great if we could.
In order to be able to do this i am going to need several brave individuals to be team leaders for me, as team leader they're job is to pick up or already have group flight so that they can keep they're team up in the air so we can attempt this feat of awesomeness.
After we have successfully defended an area from a rikti raid it will now be our turn, where we will then proceed to the rwz and attack the mothership for exp, influnce, presitge and merits gallaw
and yes heroes can join in for this bit and vice-versa when its the heroes day for raids. -
Right i am thinking on the 15th for the villain side and the 17th for heroes and we will be going for a 8pm raid start UK time, however might be best saying 7:30pm for team organizing so that we can fit everyone in to a team with group flight.

Sounds like a great idea Omega. I'm tentatively up for this, dependant on specific dates etc...
None of my toons have group fly though (Only one of my toons has any kind of flight) but happy to take on the usual roll of cannon fodder.
RWZ has a minimum level of 35 right? - just so I know who to bring along
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah level 35 is the minimum level and i am leaning most likely to the weekend for this, so probably the 15th and 16th. -
1st i can see a point especially at low levels since its annoying hitting civilians when you have too few attacks and long recharge times, however at later levels i normal hit them just for fun since its not really an issue then. However i wouldn't mind seeing civilians actually become defeatable since they annoy me to no end so yes to this.
point 2 also yes however keep the trainer in nerva and add an additional one for the lower zones, somewhere inside a building like the super villain group registration building in port oaks so you''ll be safe from raids and local mobs, while also doing the opposite hero side adding a trainer to an outside higher level area, can't go wrong with talos -
Hey all Omega MCX here, seeing as people have been enjoying Robot Rampage a lot i figured it was time to try a rather new bold idea, Rikti RAGE!!
Rikti RAGE will be taking place during the next rikti raid week which is between the 14th-20th of november.
To start things off everyone will meet up in one zone talos for example where will wait for a rikti raid to occur (if a raid ends up taking a while to start we can always hunt giant monsters while we wait). when a raid starts up everyone will then proceed to the targeted area. Upon reaching the area we shall attempt to take down a rikti warship or two which will probably be a first for defiant since i have never seen defiant pull this off so it would be great if we could.
Of course one day will have to be for villains and another for heroes just to make it fair -
Hmm i think from just a no buffs, just the pets on they're own sort of view it would be between singularity and jack frost, frost has a good mix of using long range and close combat attacks with the added bonus of slows and a hold if i remember right.
while sing has a lovely barrage of mez's plus knockback if anyone gets too close to it. plus the sing has slows as well and can fly too so it has less of a job keeping up with you.
So even though its close the sing comes ahead by a bit due to it being a better all rounder then jack in my opinion. -

That's not bad, considering the number of games that have been made since CoH was released.
[/ QUOTE ]
tbh i wouldn't have thought CoH would be on the list considering the fact there be a lot of shiny newer games around so yay CoH
So does this count for just the month or the year and if year? was CoH on the list last year? -
Ahh now that was fun, thanks all that showed up wither you where krono bait or just there for the smashing its was all in good fun, i myself counted at least 10+krono's and 2 paladins which some mysterious person was kind enough to pull for us (thnx btw
) the gm hunt that followed made for good laughs and we even beat up eochai 4 times at least (seems he wanted some attention)
Also in a stunning turn of events after all the gm's went down we weren't satisfied so we tried our hands at a fun run against hammi, we managed to spawn him only to get completely floored afterward s
Oh well maybe next time we can try him again but this time with a bigger crowed. Speaking of next time as an advanced heads up i'm thinking of hosting robot rampage 5 sometime between Christmas day and new years, while also having a good think about what else can defiant take a crack at, so if anyone has any ideas feel free to pass them on i myself wouldn't mind an rikti raid special where we take down a couple of rikti warships followed by a raid on the mothership.
Also screenys of tonights event coming soon, thanks all again for showing up -
Phew just got back from work...

Yes, I'd love to add some meaningful "games" to the arena's -- King of the Hill, Capture the Flag, Zone Control (aka Domination.)
I think having those would allow different AT's to shine in difference circumstances.

woah, now if only they went through with it.

well since no ones mentioned it, how about RV recluse?
-
thanks for the numbers defuser, woah good to see my spiney getting some damage love without the need of extensive buffs. Although somewhat disappointing that nukes have been nerfed for pvp, would have thought with they're long recharge they would have kept they're numbers...

Well since we got the new changes up i for one want to start and finish this tournament before i13 comes, just so we get one last tournament of old school pvp.
