  1. Hell is a SS/SR brute with Hasten.

Save for a few concept characters, always Combat Jumping. Then at least one of Maneuvers or Weave (with prereqs). That's about it for pools. Hasten can be handy but going for perma without purples leaves no room for more useful set bonuses.

Ninja Run + Rocket Board made travel powers a non-necessity for me. Though even before Ninja Run I viewed travel powers as a wasted power that should only be picked after I have a solid attack chain and all of the major defense powers.
  2. I wouldn't call 50% off of slots junk, unless you bought them last week at 25% off, then you've got a reason to rage.

Cue a slow wane in interest about Staff Fighting; I made the character I had intended to use Staff Fighting with, so meh to Staff Fighting.
Basically same story here. Wanted to wait for staff to test the new stalker changes, cursed myself for holding out past DXP, made a claws/wp stalker, don't have much urge to get staff fighting. I may get it, but it's not going to be a must buy anymore.

TL;DR: Paragon you waited too long and releasing it after DXP was just insult to injury. (Masterminds didn't get a revamp I was aware of so BM could have waited to get staff stalkers going.)

I don't really care for Ms. Liberty and her not-a-villain mercenary group Longbow so I'd like to see her join the FP.

I'll admit I don't know much about Mirror Spirit but why would you want to curse anyone you might possibly like with being in that utterly dysfunctional and basically fail group?
  5. Which brings up another question: are they just going to scrap SSA#1 since States and Psyche (and Malaise and Miss Liberty) will only be known to old players?

So will Manti kill Penny in WWD#6 since SP never existed?
  7. Next Tuesday is like tomorrow. He didn't give a date so as long as it comes out on a Tuesday he's safe.
  8. If staff fighting had come out on or even just closer to the stalker revamp I would've bought it instantly.

Though they held off on it past the stalker changes and DXP and now I've got a stalker up to 45, a TW/EA scrapper psuedo-stalker at 35, I don't really have the urge to do another new character until I get the stalker to fifty and thrown through DA to see if a more survivable AT makes it more palatable (oh look, more soft control immune EBs with two shot kill ranged attacks).
  9. I had wondered about sub-50s and if they'd be offered a reward table.

I think it'd be better that only 50s with unlocked Alpha (ie the ability to choose Incarnate components) should be presented with the table and non-qualifiers just get reward merits without burning their free table.

Not being able to arrest Wade in #2 is what really turned me off on the whole WWD. Statesman dying? My fault. Miss Liberty dying? My fault. Sister Psyche dying? My fault. Even if we weren't aware of who Wade was and what he was up to Monty didn't want him in the club. If you did know about his connection to Rularuu that is the bitter taste of ultimate defeat.

If at the press conference you had to answer "If you were dead wouldn't we be all better off, three great heroes still alive?" The only honest answer would be "Yes."

Insult to injury was doing the Lockhart arc in Steel Canyon.

The only thing redside lost in WWD is Wade and while Vanguard may not be the day spa the Zig is he'll be sprung from his cell sooner than later.
  13. CoH is just going through a case of delayed onset 90s.

Edgier is better, extreme is best. Heroes not failing = carebear. Dark isn't dark enough so it's time for darkity dark dark. A hero has to kill off at least one other hero for it to be a storyline.

Isn't AE rewards a T3 or T4 reward (with AE access in the previous tier)?
  15. Defender: Empathy/anything makes me shake my head. There are actual Empathy Defenders but they are very very rare, most are Empathy healers.
  16. It's a good thing he wasn't surrounded by those Telepathists whose debuff lets rocks thrown by unpowered humans kill incarnates. Imagine Telepathists + Nuke given what a pebble can do under that debuff.

I'll miss the "boot up" sequence of my WP tanker the first time, get nostalgic for it on the second, and by the third be wondering how I put up with having to retoggle a ton of powers every time I logged in on that character.

If you'd bother to play either of the Loyalist lines it's pretty obvious that 1) Tyrant isn't a "Loyalist" and 2) Loyalists aren't all that loyal to Tyrant.

  21. When I select all in LFG and queue up it never fires until I get into a timed mission after I've had LFG queued long enough to forget (usually about 2-3 hours) I still have it on.

That's the thing though, States hasn't done anything, nor has the FP, they don't save the world. They have saved the world but all they do in the present is walk into obvious traps and break stuff that the players are responsible for fixing.

I was waiting for staff melee to try out the new stalker changes but last week I gave in and made a claws/wp stalker which I now want to take another shot at DA with but I still have 9 levels to go.

In short, the wait has been too long (would have much rather had staff melee for DXP than Barky McBarkerson (I have nothing against BM or DC except for the lessons-not-learned-from-DS aspect)).

You're not truly unique in that aspect. Sure the FP were the big dogs but they've only done things, they don't *do* things in the current game world. They've saved the world before but I've been one of the heroes saving it now.

When the Rikti invade AP, my hero is out there fighting while Ms. Liberty just stands there looking pretty. My hero-hood isn't threatened by do-nothing quest givers.

Looking at it broadly you are to blame for everything after Synapse since you let Wade get away in #2. Monty didn't want him in his club and it totally wasn't suspicious having a known Rularuu nut (and ex-Midnighter) show up during a Rulu-shin attack (and not getting attacked by the attackers).

The player made all the difference in the world.
