Correct. According to Paragon Wiki, they can only be unlocked via the hero TF Commander Accolade. I would love to see some accolade parity on this piece. Hmmm, time to PM Synapse?

Wow, I've seen the card trick issue but never the avatar thinning. Wish we could actually build weird-looking thin avatar like that - very alien and interesting

DAoC had something like this at one point (not sure if they still have it since they have done some server cosnoldiations, etc.). Basically, if you had a max level character, you could create a new character on a lower-population server starting at level 20 or 30. On paper, it looked like a good way to help prop up populations on lower-pop servers. In practice, brand new players had very few people with which to team from levels 1 to 19.
Any way you present the idea of instantly starting a character at Level X, it will affect the New Player Experience. In terms of attracting new customers, it's detrimental. This sort of thing is especially important in community, team-based MMOs. You need a good amount of characters at any level in order to sustain new players and vets alike.
So the likelihood of anything like this happening, whether it be a vet reward, micro transaction, low-population server incentive, etc. is going to be low. -
Here's some MOOOOOOD Lighting courtesty of Virgin Air:

This is why I took GA - Absorbing alphas. Brain bleach attack? Minerals!

AFAIK, no. The account must be active to have posting privileges; otherwise, it would be ripe for players who quit in protest of Patch X or Feature Change Y.

I heard that there will be some improvements this holiday season. No specifics, so we'll just have to wait and see

I live on the West Coast and have been to meet & greets a couple of times, and have earned various codes.
But I was thinking of this same suggestion earlier today.
Yeah, I support costume codes as either Vet Rewards and/ or microtransactions. -
Please don't be mad at me OP. I'm speaking on behalf of your friends. You remember the Search Function and the Patch Notes, right? They miss you and wish that you would spend more time with them. Please give them a visit when you have a chance.

Quote:I have a better idea. I'll consider it a challenge. Give me a name you want to use, and I'll give you at least three alternatives.Over the past 5 years playing CoX, I can't count the number of times I've gotten an idea for a new character and have come up with perfect a concept, costume and name, only to find the name has already been taken.
I would love to see the CoX name monopoly lifted for Issue 17 - or sometime soon.
Anyone have any knowledge or guesses if this could be in the works? -
Looks like Champ's on the chopping block, but Protector needs to be taken down quite a few pegs in retrospect.

Quote:CoV beta started August 2005. The game was officially released on October of 2005. So it would not be out of the question for the game to be out before year's end, if beta started in October.Well I dont think there is anyway Go-Ro will be out this year.... its not even in Beta yet.... How long was CoV in Beta befroe it went live>? anyone know?
I am tinking like Feb or March of 2010...
That being said, the Loyalty program terminates Nov. 15th, but since Tier 1 for 60+ month vets happens before Tier 2, it's plausible that closed beta could start in October, leaving the last half of November through December for Tier 2 & 3 closed beta, then open beta. However, I doubt they would launch too close to the holiday season, since there would be little to know time to address any post-launch bugs that may crop up.
Although I could see open beta going through the holiday season with the official launch after the new year. In any case, it's all speculation and educated guesswork. -
Are you using a Fatal1ty mouse by chance?

Quote:Indeed. Welcome to last month, OPAnd to think it never had to happen if you'd actually read about the feature.
As an aside, it's probably going to get done sooner or later, once they can figure out the tech to recolor replacement avatars used in Dwarf and Nova forms. Although VEATs would be easier to do, they probably won't be done until HEATs get the treatment, for parity's sake. -

Got online last night for the first time in a while (base editing aside). Didn't get much of a chance to play with the CC because I was asked to team. It did however give me a chance to check out the new SuperSK system, which worked greatEven on a small group of three (or especially, given it was an odd-numbered team), the SuperSK system worked fabulously, allowing my two friends to SK up to my level so we could take on some Lost and Rikti in my lowbie's Midnighter arc. No more worrying about even-number groups for SK or doing the SK Tetris
The only thing I'm miffed about so far is that there's no pure black option for Stone Armor. The closest one can get is very dark brown... but it still looks like Burnt Umber, not black. I might be able to come up with a reasonable facsimile, but I wish I could just go with good old #000000 -
Hopefully without any lunch ladies
If you're ever in LA again, let me know; I'm in the OC -
Must have been channeling you Rhynwa, because I woke up this morning with a hangover.
Of course, drinking that 40 on a nearly-empty stomach probably didn't help either -
Damn, would have crawled back onto the server had I know this was going to happen.

I think you should make more threads, one for every point on the I16 patch notes, or at least one for every topic that's been discussed several times on the open beta boards. That would be fantastic.
