It's supposed to be available for Arachnos Soldiers as well.
Quote:Is the Mecha Rifle unavailable for VEATS? It should not be, if that is the case it is a bug.
Actually, after looking in some files, if this bug is currently in beta it should be fixed in the next beta build, it's currently in the weapon files for Arachnos soldiers. -
Quote:Actually, that was just a matter of reading Sorceress Serene's bio page. And it's definitely a "new Dominator set"; the question is if it will remain an NPC-only one.If by "they" you mean "people digging around where they shouldn't be", then sort of. Pretty sure it's not a new Dom set though.

I came up with the idea of a Mad Scientist Mastermind some time ago. Its first tier pets would be three Experiments; small weird looking critters, probably doing toxic/lethal damage. Then two Assistants; "scientist looking" guys with, say, lightning and freeze guns. And the top tier pet would be your Creation; I've always pictured it as something resembling the Doom Cyberdemon.

Quote:On the other hand, Single Shot is a first tier power and can therefore be used while mezzed*, and has a chance for knockdown which helps survival. If you go with a Beam/Energy blaster, then you'll probably want to skip Single Shot (your attack chain will be full enough as it is) and Penetrating Ray (snipes suck).
* For that reason alone I never skip the first two primary powers on any blaster. -
I've enjoyed my Beam/Storm, at last once I got her to Freezing Rain. Beam/Traps is good too. I think Beam is better on Corrs, more survivable since Blasters have trouble killing fast enough with such a single target set.

Quote:There's the PPD Psi-Division, they seem all male. Although their abilities appear to come from training, not inborn powers. And in Praetoria the Syndicate is full of male psi-users, right up to Wu Yin himself. Is that actually a stated fact anywhere in CoH lore?
Note: That's a serious question. Aurora Borealis, Vanessa DeVore, Sister Psyche, Penny Yin, Katie Douglas, Fortunatas and Seers greatly outnumber... Malaise, Psimon Omega and a handful of the Awakened (Is that it? I can't think of any other male psi-users). -
That chainmail does look nice; I've a bunch of characters who'll use that.

Another problem with the old hunts; they often are offered at levels where finding non-red or purple enemies of the designated type is difficult or impossible. Or in the case of Peregrine Carnie hunts, finding them at all.
Quote:Also, some older missions send you to talk to one of the old Atlas/Galaxy contacts; moving them into City Hall instead of removing them keeps players from being stuck with a mission telling them to go talk to someone who doesn't exist. My question is why do those old contacts stand inside City Hall, when now all you get at the start of AP is Matthew Hashaby. -
Quote:That's ridiculous. So now we're not only supposed to take the abuse, we're supposed to pretend it isn't happening? Pointing out bad behavior isn't the same as committing the bad behavior in the first place. It's not "trash talking" to complain about trash talking, or about other actual bad attitudes and behaviors. Especially not in a thread that asks for that kind of information; should we have just all responded to the OP with "sorry, we can't answer that question"?But I come into a thread asking "Why you don't PvP" and see a good many posts saying "I don't because of the community, I don't because competitve people are jerks, I don't because all PvP'ers are assh0les" guess what? You're trash talking the community. The very thing that is keeping you out of PvP. *That* is why I think posters who stated that are idots.

Quote:I agree. <smack>...pause...<take damage> Very noticeable and offputting.Enjoying mine, but they need to either lengthen the animation or apply damage quicker on the assassin strike. There's a pause in there that keeps making me wonder if I missed or not.
I can't speak for high levels; but early on it fills out the attack chain nicely. And on Brutes it makes building Fury easy. -
I go into PvP zones to quickly run the patrol mission for the badge & temp powers. I avoid PvPers if there are any there, and if I can't outrun them I'll hit Self Destruction rather than fight them. Some reasons I don't like PvP:
- The heavy handed attempts to push non-PvPers into PvPing by the devs have irritated me. Putting badges in PvP zones, sending every single character of mine multiple zones across the city to talk to the stupid PvP contacts, etc.
- PvPers seem to largely be a collection of semi-illiterate trash talkers, both unpleasant and incoherent.
- There appears to be a huge overlap between PvPers and griefers & jerks. For example, there were some PvPers who managed to get Op privileges on a channel I'm on and tried to destroy it with randoms kickings & promotions, then boasted about it. Another example is the PvPer who rocked his heal aura in Wentworth's just to annoy people while berating them for not being PvPers. And there's all the PvPers who sneer with contempt at non-PvPers at every opportunity. In general, when someone acts like a malignant jerk, they tend to turn out to be a PvPer more often than not; outside of spammers, almost everyone on my /ignore list claimed to be a PvPer. PvPers do not come across as the sort of people I wish to associate with.
- PvP is responsible for a number of irritating nerfs in this game, and that adds another layer of bad associations to it for me. I think the game would be better if PvP had never been added.
- The heavy handed attempts to push non-PvPers into PvPing by the devs have irritated me. Putting badges in PvP zones, sending every single character of mine multiple zones across the city to talk to the stupid PvP contacts, etc.

Form of the Soul, one of the three Form toggles from Staff Mastery* among other things reduces the endurance usage of your powers.
Quote:All Staff Fighting attacks will build a level of Perfection of Soul while this toggle is active. Each level will grant the user an Endurance Discount. Once the user has built up 3 levels of Perfection of Soul and they execute Eye of the Storm, the attack will target's defense slightly and will deal additional energy damage. Executing Sky Splitter with three levels of Perfection of Soul will deal additional energy damage and grant the user a moderate regeneration and recovery buff for a short time.
* Like Swap Ammo from Dual Pistols; one power gives you three toggles to choose from -
Or color the Earth powers green or purple, and you've got a nice "flaming piles of toxic waste" theme for a villain.
-
Well, when you get right down to it your characters don't have a great many options as to where to hide the staff when it isn't in use...but drawing it sure is uncomfortable.

Since you'd have something that does as much damage as a brute but is more survivable than either brutes or scrappers, people would pretty much only roll tanks if you did that.

That's The Feast from the Resistance Crusader path. The Resistance & Loyalist sides are each divided into two sub paths; an extreme one and a moderate one. The Crusaders are the crazy side of the Resistance; the Power path is the more villainous side of the Loyalists.

Quote:I have one named Crystalmist whose powers are based on "utility fog" style nanotechnology. She's surrounded by a fog of nanomachines that she can condense into a solid crystalline form; all her Earth/ powers use the crystal theme, naturally.Earth/Cold can just as easily be based upon an Antarctic or Mountaintop theme. Cold has great buffs (defense and endurance) and debuffs, but lacks a self-heal. It is a very strong secondary.

Another: Gravity just got buffed. Dimension Shift is now a ground placed AoE toggle (and allies can go inside the phased zone and attack), Wormhole is larger & causes no aggro, Propel knocks down nearby enemies, and a new mechanic called Impact was added. If you use Propel or Lift on an enemy under the effect of the single target hold they take extra damage.
-
Not sure if this was before you left or not, but playing my Demons/FF just reminded me that many single target buffs like Speed Boost & FF/Sonic/Thermal bubbles were changed into AoE powers; you don't have to buff/bubble everyone one by one anymore. It makes such powers far less tedious to use.

I've made Dark Devouring the Dark/Kin (a reroll of an old Dark Blast/Kin I could never get into), Chronovore the Dark/Time, and Martial Artist the Dark/Dark (her "Dark" is brightly colored; she's supposed to have an enchanted paintbrush and is using "paint control"). The first two are still sub-20, Martial Artist is 32.
