Drop Repair and pick up Maneuvers. You already have Aid Other, which is superior in every way from my play experience (my first villain is a Lvl 50 Bots/FF).

Quote:I do have Tough and Weave in the build and it has helped my survivability. Instead of Charged Brawl I use Boxing. I lead off with it and then continue through my attack chain. I also have Brawl set to auto to help fill in any downtime.Hey I have one of these, I suggest taking resist elements and putting tough and weave into your build.
Mine does good but you need fury up as. Fast as u can, I took charged brawl as it's a super fast attack which helps the fury.
You need loads of recharge which you will need IOs for. With electric being weak compared to other brute powers u want lighting rod up as often as poss.
Judging from the posts in the threads for the guides it appears that both the resists have received a boost in effectiveness. Perhaps that is the way to go. I'd rather mitigate damage than repair damage by having to blow my two powers on Aid Other and Aid Self.
I don't think it is weak necessarily. To your point, I have noticed that my attack chain doesn't seem to flow quite as nicely as my DB/WP brute. I've two-slotted Accuracy SOs for each attack and have damage SOs filling out the rest. I did that to help get through the earlier levels. As I max out my slots I'll start adding some recharge too. -
I can't seem to find this combination anywhere and I need help. I've pieced together a build strategy (I am generally pleased with it) based off several wonderfully written guides (thanks to all who put the time into writing those). But I just hit 26 and I'm wondering what to pick up. I'm decked out with just SOs at the moment. I solo and team and can handle larger mobs of +1 and +2... mostly. Here is what I have...
* * * SHOCK SHARK * * *
Lvl 1 - Havoc Punch, Resist Physical Damage
Lvl 2 - Jacob's Ladder
Lvl 4 - Dull Pain
Lvl 6 - Temp Invulnerability
Lvl 8 - Thunder Strike
Lvl 10 - Hasten
Lvl 12 - Boxing
Lvl 14 - Tough
Lvl 16 - Build Up
Lvl 18 - Chain Induction
Lvl 20 - Weave
Lvl 22 - Unyielding
Lvl 24 - Super Speed
Lvl 26 - ?
This is what I have planned later...
Lvl 28 - Invincibility
Lvl 30 - ?
Lvl 32 - Lightning Rod
Lvl 35 - Tough Hide
Lvl 38 - Unstoppable
Lvl 41 - School of Sharks
Lvl 44 - Bile Spray
Lvl 47 - Arctic Breath
Lvl 49 - Summon Guardian?
So two slots to burn. Are either Resist Energies or Resist Elements something I should invest in? Anybody else have this combo? -
My first toon when I started playing two years ago was an Energy/Devices. The Knockback provides some good mitigation along with Caltrops. If you plan on exclusively soloing, then Trip Mines are your best friend. Take some time, setup a dozen Trip Mines, throw done some Caltrops, pull an enemy, and bye-bye bad guy - even EBs and AVs.
That combo is pretty unfriendly for teams but I still pull him out for the Wednesday Hami runs on Guardian.
Best of luck to you! -
Quote:I'm no expert but will add my $0.02 in saying that I have really enjoyed leveling my DP/MM blaster (currently sitting at level 33). I have not solo'ed with him much and do not PVP, but on teams he is a very welcome addition with his plethora of AOEs. I cycle through Bullet Rain -> Psychic Scream -> Empty Clips -> Piercing Rounds and repeat. And I love Hail of Bullets. I've had limited success with World of Confusion. I have also shied away from the Melee powers in MM but am rethinking my strategy... especially with Psychic Shockwave closing in.Would like to see more, and possibly actual feed back on this. Starting a Pistols/MM myself and wondering how good it would do in Pvp/Pve i know it's in the hands of the player but a more generalized and theoretical input would be lovely to have. thinking of mace or soul.
I'm keeping him blue side and haven't decided on an APP yet. Mace PPP looks like a good way to go for the non-Heroes. -
Quote:Thanks! I missed them both. There are several threads right after GR's release pointing out the lack of options for females.
Syndicate Costume Pieces?
Syndicate Costume?
It's possible that because they aren't available to all body types, the patch note was change to no longer list them as a costume available. -
Don't know if this is the right forum for costume-related issues but here it goes.
I'm trying to make a Syndicate Thugs/Pain MM that left the Syndicate and is now working with the PPD as a Loyalist in Praetoria. I think I'll fun with the concept. However, I do not have the option of Syndicate on either my sleeves or my pants as a Female body type. They are there, clear as day, for a Male and Huge (actually, Syndicate stripes are missing for sleeves on Huge).
So... I guess I'm just complaining at this point. Any chance the devs are already on this? -
You can also type this once and a "BG" icon will show up in your Power tray...
/macro BG "petcom_all Follow Defensive"
I grabbed this from one of the guides a while back. If I could remember where I would certainly give that person credit. -

Quote:While I lament the fact that we don't have it, this makes complete and perfect sense if it is true.I too, was looking froward to MM for MM.
I believe the reason it was left out has to do with Weapon customization. Characters can only have 2 custom weapons. Because Mastermind can take a bow with any primary, that's already the two weapon limit. This caused issues when player wanted the Mace in Mastery customizable too. I think Munitions was left out to avoid the inevitable customization problem that would arise.
Totally lame, yes, but I can understand why it was left out. -
I posted this in another thread...
--------------------------------------------------
What are the chances of getting Munitions Mastery in the somewhat-near future?
I was excited for it when I saw "Blasters get Mastermind Patron Powers, and vice versa" in the patch notes (http://www.cityofheroes.com/news/pat...patch_not.html).
And my excitement continued when I saw Munitions Mastery listed on the Mastermind wiki page (http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Mastermind).
But the list above [the list was in that aforementioned thread] seems to mirror what I'm also reading on the Epic Powerset Proliferation page on the wiki (http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Epic_P..._Proliferation).
So, I'm a little confused but I suppose there isn't Munitions Mastery... yet.
--------------------------------------------------
Don't yell at me for double-posting please. I'm just wondering and wanted to post the question (and didn't really need to hijack that other thread anyway). I mean, MMs have three primaries that are pistol/rifle based so pulling out a big gun to shoot freeze rays and missiles shouldn't seem all that weird. Right? -
Quote:What are the chances of getting Munitions Mastery in the somewhat-near future?Oh, they swapped out anything that was redundant.
This is where they last stood:
Chill Mastery
1) Ice Blast
2) Flash Freeze
3) Hoarfrost
4) Frozen Armor
5) Hibernate
Charge Mastery
1) Static Discharge
2) Electric Shackles
3) Thunder Strike
4) Surge of Power
5) Em Pulse
Heat Mastery
1) Bonfire
2) Fireblast
3) Fireball
4) Char
5) Rise of the Phoenix
Field Mastery
1) Temp Invulnerability
2) Power Blast
3) Energy Torrent
4) Explosive Blast
5) Force of Nature
I have no idea why the left armors out of 'Charge' and 'Heat'

Quote:All this cryptic talk has my curiosity piqued! If what you're talking about is what I think you're talking about, there won't be any significant changes in what sets are played more or less.
On topic: as far as primaries go I'd say MA and DB are least-played and for secondaries I'd say Dark and Elec.

From this dad to you, back atcha man! I'm taking my kids to see my wife's dad and then going to my dad's for dinner. Hope all you dads out there enjoy your dad (and I will see ya'll tonight after the kids go to bed).

Quote:Another account?!?! Why didn't I think of that?or could be like quite a few of us and go get another account and have another 36 guardian slots
Hmm, that is something to consider too. In fact, at one point, I had a separate account setup for my son (who quickly moved off Age of Empires 3, stuck with CoH for a quick minute, and moved on to Spore). Maybe I'll fire that sucker back up! -
I think I'll try out Victory and Freedom. Word on the street is that Freedom lags down with all the traffic. I'll test a hero and villain out on each and see how it goes. And definitely wait for free server transfers before I make a move.
Thanks for all the input and suggestions! -
... and I've only ever known Guardian. Some of my SG mates suggest deleting old toons that don't get as much play (like my Sonic/Sonic Defender Michael Jackson tribute "Moonwalker Jackson" or my MA/SR Scrapper prez tribute "Barrack H Obama") but I can't bring myself to do it. I've already deleted a few "under 20s" toons to make space for a few slots that I want to save for when Going Rogue comes out.
I assume either Server Transfers or starting toons on a completely new server are my only two options. Any Guardian players out there have any server suggestions?
My son plays Champion and he has scads of toons on there already. So besides that I am open for anything.
If it matters, I'm in the Eastern time zone. I think Guardian is West coast. Wish I had known that going in... makes for some loooong nights sometimes -
Doctor Obliteron, my Bots/FF Mastermind, hit 50 shortly after the Tuesday night Rikti Raids on Guardian (my first level 50 villain!) last night. He started out with Scirocco as his patron and I quickly snatched up Charged Armor. Then, somewhere along the way (I think because I thought a mace would look cool) I repec'ed and went with Black Scorpion. I naturally picked up the Scorpion Shield.
Now I'm at 50 and with Issue 17 have a freespec staring me down. I'm wondering if I would be better off with Mu Mastery. I have Def with my bubbles and can pick up extra Resist with Charged Armor. I can also lock down baddies with Electrifying Fences while my Assault Bot rips them (burns them, really) to shreds. Heck, I repec'ed out before trying Electric Shackles but a hold can't be too bad.
Or am I better off with Mace? What do you other MM's think? -
After watching this thread and picking up on some good advice, I think I have a plan...
I'm dropping Slice, the Fitness Pool (Swift and Health), Revive, and Focused Accuracy
I'm picking up the Fighting Pool (Kick, Tough, Weave), Manuevers, and Tactics. I will stick with Physical Perfection *after* picking up Conserve Power. My thinking on sticking with Physical Perfection is that it will help with both Regeneration and Recovery in between fights. Conserve Power will help me push through those big, drawn-out battles.
My previous build was very general - it attempted to do a lot of things but wasn't great at any one of them. This new build will allow me to stand toe-to-toe more with foes during spurts of fighting. */Regen Scrappers recover and regenerate quickly, so a little cool-down between fighting large mobs isn't that big of a deal to me at the expense of being tougher *during* those fights.
Sound logic? -
Umbral, I noticed that you skipped Slice (but great build BTW). Do you miss it? I like to hit Build Up, Whirling Sword, Slice, and then clean up. I also use it as a filler in my chain.
I suppose with the recharge bonuses, along with Hasten (which I've skipped), you don't have many gaps in your attack chain for it, eh? -
There is a thought that surprisingly hasn't occurred to me. I've been so ingrained with the notion that the Fitness pool is always necessary (which in most cases I believe it is). And I've been so focused trying to strengthen my regeneration that I never thought to work on mitigation.
What would be the most obvious choice? Kick/Tough/Weave? -
Point and laugh me!
I used my Freespec yesterday to switch up a few power choices for my level 45 Broadsword/Regen scrapper. She had the Weapons Mastery pool but was running into Endurance issues. Targeting Drone was nice but I didn't really use Caltrops as I thought I would. I also had an IO set that I wanted to use somehow and needed an extra attack power (if only to use as a mule).
So I dropped Revive, picked up Slash (slotted with my IO set), picked up Focused Accuracy, and then grabbed Physical Perfection. Stamina problems, see ya later! Or not...
So does Physical Perfection pretty much suck?
Or a better question would be, am I stupid? I have/had Swift and Health already. Why didn't I just use my power pick at 44 to pick up Stamina?
Time to burn my vet spec? -
Quote:Sorry for the cryptic wording.Yes it is a toggle (however it turns off with KB, hold, KU, KD) and you get the regen every couple of seconds. You're question makes near to no sense to me but yes you leave it on constantly.
This is what wasn't clear to me. I didn't know how often it fired if I left it on. And I wanted to make sure that the toggle didn't have any eccentricities associated with it.
Thanks! -
RttC is a toggle, right? But is it a toggle that runs all the time? Based on what I've read it offers regeneration bonuses based on the number of foes around you (with diminishing returns) and that sounds awesome. However, does it do this only after you fire it?
If I leave it toggled do I get the bonus on some type of timed interval?
