I understand a large portion of the boards will tell someone to take the forms, but in my experience with dealing with those new to Kheldians you actually learn a lot more going the human form route before you have experience witht he character.
I have never done forms on a Peacebringer, but I have back in the day on a Warshade when Kheldians were first released. My first Warshade was Nova/Human and I didn't find it any easier leveling with forms as opposed to being human. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
I think going the human form route on a Peacebringer is a lot easier than human only on a Warshade. People that tend to take forms from the start have a very limited view on the AT because they spend a large amount of time in the forms and do not get to see the marvel that the other powers yield. -
No one is saying you need to plan around purples or Hamidons. Contagious Confusion just happens to be supremely cheap (I paid 36M for the whole set) and you get 10% recharge and 5% ranged defense.
I would drop scare for Maneuvers and just toss 1 end red IO in it or a Serendipity def/end which would give you about 3% more defense. I would help you if I had Mids at work, but unfortunately I cannot. If noone has resolved your issue by the time I get home I will hop on then and see what I can do. -
Quote:I'm not saying Banes do not need improvement, however I am saying that there is nothing wrong with there survivability that would indicate that Elude would be needed or should be added.Yes, yes. With less effort than banes. They also get -def resistance.
How about the bane spider secondary, or without third pools? Just had to mention widows there.
Devs? You got a quote or you just talking for yourself?
That's right, banes are not broken, but there's still room for improvement. Things don't have to be OP or broken, there's more to it than that.
Where's the lrn2play argument? I'm waiting. -

No need to be confused. There is no right or wrong way to play them. Just find what works for you run with it. If you are ready to delete it after 19 levels that means you didn't really want to make it in the first place. You can't really get a good taste of Peacebringers after only 19 levels of gameplay.

I have noticed that lately a lot of Warshades are popping up and I can only assume that is because they do a lot of AoE damage and people love to use them for farming, etc. I love my Peacebringers more because as you said they are self sufficient. I have my Peacebringer slotted for +rech (80% global + 70% Hasten) and being able to heal very rapidly and have perma-EB is just love. With all the tools included in the powerset its just so much goodness that I sometimes feel like I am cheating.
When I first made a Kheldian it was a Warshade and I loved her because she was more Controller-like with an element of Blaster. I played her hard and when I got ot Eclipse I was just in awe. From level 38 to 46 it was bliss, but then it just got boring playing her because of the constant need to have bodies around to keep myself in top condition.
I deleted her and stayed away from Kheldians for a long time until I got that Warshade itch again and made another one. This time I was even more into her than last time and ran her in TFs, teams, anything involving exp. Again boredom struck so I deleted her a level 39 this time.
After always avoiding Peacebringers I decided to make one in place of my recently deleted Warshade and let me tell you.............I've never looked back. Aura Star has been a beast from day one and mixes the beauty of all the things I like. She doesn't have the Controlling ability of a Warshade but she has enough tools that she can completely negate a group minus Bosses (I kill them while the others are out of the fight) all the while not requiring anything or anyone to keep her upright.
Its probably safe to say that outside of Night Widow's, the Peacebringer (human-only) is my favorite AT on the game without a doubt. -
First thing I am going to tell you is to drop the forms. Forms suck and offer nothing in my opinion. Human-only is the way to go if you want the full nastiness of a Peaecbringer. Sure there are people that have taken the forms and swear by them, but I personally think they suck (insert expletive).
You need to drop Glowing Touch and take Hasten. There is no point in taking Hasten unless you plan on slotting it with three slots. GT is useful is you want to heal teammates, but if there is even one healer then you do not need it because its a waste of endurance for you when you could be attacking whatever is attempting to kill your team mate.
Photon Seekers, Thermal Shield and Quantum Shield need to also come a lot soon. You should take Thermal before Quantum because you will face fire, and cold a lot sooner in the game than energy, or negative. Besides you have an inherent resistance to those types so no need to worry about Quantum until in your 30s. Photon Seekers is a good PBAoE attack because they are utterly useless if summoned as a normal seeking pet. Either way theys hould be taken before level 41. Preferably after you take Dawn Strike you should take Photon Seekers. Also you do not need to slot and accuracy in Dawn Strike. If you are going to use normal IOs then 3 dam and 3 rech is optimal slotting.
Just a couple starting points for you, hope it helps. -
All you need are 6 Thunderstrikes in your build for your ranged attacks, the Steadfast unique in the resistance toggle if you take it in the 40s, 2 slots for Blessing in Hover and Fly, and 6 slot your melee attack with Mako's. I would take World of Confusion and slot the purple set because its cheap and gives 5% ranged defense.

Quote:Very odd because I am not seeing an increase in my Hover speed when I am Power Boosted and Hover is toggled on.Power Boost *does* increase flight speed (as does Power Build Up, which is hybrid of Power Boost and Build Up).
I will have to check again when I log on later. -
Quote:LOL, well I guess you can toss me into that pile of people that LOVE their Peacebringer after loving a Warshade. I used to love my Warshades more than a lot of my other characters but then I just got bored of them and ended up deleting a her. After missing her I ended up making another Warshade and leveled her to 39 before once again getting bored.
If you're ever going to give PB's a chance, I suggest you do that before diving too deep into Warshades because most people don't like PB's much after falling for their Warshades
I can honestly say I have never had that problem with my Peacebringer. I used to be Pro-Warshade all day long and I do miss Eclipse more than anything, but I just can't get the same enjoyment from them as I used to.
Anyways, to the OP welcome to the wonderfulness that is Warshaddes. I hope you keep your love for them.
PS, Eclipse is better than Stygian Circle -
Am I mistaken or did Power Boost get changed sometime back? The reason I ask is because I know that I have used Power Boost in the past and its increased my flight speed. I could be confused and thinking about Power Build Up, but I am not sure.

You're looking to deep into something that doesn't matter. The system works so there is no need to change it. You can look at endurance as endurance or you can look at it as mental focus/dexterity for focusing during combat.
The change you would like to see would take too much to implement and wouldn't be worth anything to anyone except AR Blasters. Remember this is a video game, not real life. Some times things do not have to agree with reality and those things need to just be accepted and move on. -
The previous poster is correct. You cannot use Trip Mine while using the pool power. You also do not need Stealth and a +Stealth IO. I assume you are Devices and if that is the case then just take Smoke Grenade for the -perception and then add with the +Stealth IO you will be invisble enough to lay a Trip Mine.
Grant Invisiblity, Super Speed, or Stealth in combination with the aforementioned information will also render you completely invsible. -
Elude really isn't that much of a panic power to be honest. Sets like SR, Ninjitsu, Night Widow Training, etc don't need Elude/Retsu because you can cap your positional defense without them. The only thing that powers like Elude/Retsu offer are increased movement speed and recovery, otherwise they do nothing.
The devs won't change Banes because it doesn't fit with their history. They aren't broken so there is no need to fix or add anything. -
Night Widows, Fortunatas, SR, Shield Defense, are all defense sets that don't have heals so Banes are hardly the only class without one. Also Energy Aura's heal isn't really all that much of a heal to be honest.
-
I see. To each their own.
I would like to see Psychic Shockwave added also. Having Tornado, Wail, and Shockwave on my Blaster makes me want it on my Fortunata.
Kind of funny how there are things I would like to see changed on my Fort, but I think Night Widows are perfect across the board. -
I hate saying negative things about peoples posts, but this is just plain stupid.
Why add a power that Banes have NEVER used in the history of the game?
Besides what exactly is wrong with Banes? I have teamed with some nasty Banes. -
Quote:This seems odd to me. On my I/E/E fighting against +2s or +3s, I can use Aim + Build Up + Blizzard and it will kill just about everything standing except for the Boss/es. In that situation Bosses take at least 50% total damage so there really isn't much to kill off afterward. I guess my question is what exactly are you closing to melee to fight other than a boss or two?Speeking of aggro magnets, my Ice/Ele/Ele is a bit of an unconventional blapper. Aim + BU + Blizzard + pop a blue + head into melee, use Power sink, and blapp it up while Blizzard whittles'em down.
Also what is unconventional about your Ice/Elec/Elec? -
Personally I hate LRM Missle. Until they lower the recharge time on the power I encourage all to skip it because it can't be used enough to be worth taking.
-
I've never really seen the scaling resistance of SR actually be that beneficial personally. I haven't even thought to myself that I wish Ninjitsu had scaling resists and even on my SR before I deleted her I never really cared that they had them.
I await the say they port Ninjitsu to Heroes. -
You didn't have to keep replying. This was never an arguement.
The OP has since moved so you're not really clarifying anything for anyone besides yourself. -
Regardless of your comment Elec still does more damage than Energy which is what I said in the first place. Doesn't matter if you include the power or not and it doesn't matter if its marginal or not.
-
Thats what I hve done with my melee attacks. I have the Touch of Death chance for negative energy damage in Energy Punch, Bone Smasher and will have one in Total Focus. I will have to look at other procs if I decide to not respec.
