I'll just refer back to the GURPS Supers worldbook.
They had different levels of Super presence:
1)Low Supers presence: There may be 1-5 superheroes per million. Generally treated with distrust, Supers hide and don't get much of a break from the media or police. Avoided at best and sometimes even hunted.
2)Medium Supers presence: Thousands of Supers exist in the community. At this point, people have habituated themselves to Super presence and your neighborhood hero often had crazy ideas (see Freddie Femurs renting a disintegrator ray and tying it to a bike rack in Terry Morre's Strangers in Paradise - WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE!!) and it blew up in his face. Supers here can help the police, be seen as criminals, etc.
3)High Supers presence: Bobbi Bubbler helps out as a bodyguard, ZeroTemp the Ice Tanker keeps beer and food cold. Supers are so omnipresent that people don't even blink an eye when they see someone superspeeding to work. In this scenario, heroes are likely licensed, their powers registered and maybe even marked with a scannable device.
As with anything, if fewer of something exists it creates fear and as numbers increase and are integrated in society you adapt and laws are changes to account for them. -
Quote:That would be ideal.I'm guess the 10 incarnate levels will be handled the same was as other endgame advancement systems, where the additional levels are purely in the advancement system, so you remain level 50 but essentially become 50+ with incarnate level 1, 50++ with incarnate level 2 etc.
Let's face it, the Devs aren't dolts. The enhancement system caps at 50 and they know this. I'd really like to get figures on the amount of 50s in the game and the amount of IOd out 50s. If you think that each PvPer is 50 and they all have 5-10 purpled 50s...and then you account in the rest of the gang, it can add up.
If, as Golden Girl surmised, we get a 'parallel system' then that's peachy.
What I really like about CoH is I don't have to grind out 10 levels every new expansion. 50 as the cap works. -
Sounds great as long as my Hamis and Purples don't go "red".
-
Quote:Yeah...I'm not overly enamored with the idea that my Hamis and Purples are going to go "red", so whatever their advancement idea is, hopefully the max level will be 50.Thanks for the info, Silas.
Edit: Although I can't say that I like the idea o' startin' the premise o' bumpin' the level cap.
Otherwise, endgame is something this game has needed for awhile. Endgame that can challenge IOd out characters would be even better. Right now Hami raids are about it. LRSF and STF can take an inordinate amount of time with people with bad builds or that don't listen, but there's not much you can do about that outside of, you know, TFing with a close-knit group. -

I noticed in the super cool thread you have up that there is a DEFEATS section.
Is this:
Your OWN DEFEATS (IE Revenge of the Funk has been defeated by Silent Crash).
or
Your KILLS (IE Revenge of the Funk has defeated Silent Crash).
Thanks -
I'm gonna be honest, he's gonna get farmed by everyone if he's on a 47 or 48. He doesn't need all purples/accos etc but 50 would be best and at least one escape power (Hiber/Phase) and mobility.
-
I might be interested depending on if we're locked on a toon, what formats are used in the Arena (Heal Decay/TS), etc.

So, are people still complaining about not being able to afford stuff?
If you don't use the Market and just vendor stuff you may not be able to get the millions you need for SOs.
We (meaning me and other Market users) know you can easily get enough to cover yourself for your career, but outside of the Wentworth's people giving you a small breakdown, it's not anywhere in game outside of your friends.
There *really* needs to be a person in each Tutorial that explains this.
<Marketeer with top hat>:
"Hello there, fledgling hero/villain. You may notice the Black Market or Wentworth's in your travels. While this is an optional part of the game, selling your items at these areas may give you a handsome return in currency. Crafting and selling can also increase your income! Feel free to play as you wish, but this is an attractive option to increase your wages, given enough time."
If it's RIGHT THERE, it incentivizes people to use the damned Markets heh.
Well, stuff moves quickly on the blue side so I just list everything I get, pretty much. Redside I'm much more cautious and I list a lot less, for reasons explained elsewhere (fear of low item recovery, length of time between listings and sales and general apathy). -

Smeg is in the clear here; the Controller wanted badges/rewards but it's a PvP zone, you're getting attacked by other players. If it's a low-pop server they MAY leave you alone or even help you.
This thread reminds me of the Malta invasion on Infinity a while back. It ended up in Warburg...I switched to my MInd/Fire Dom, dropped team as soon as I entered the zone and started attacking everyone. Some fought back, others complained but that PvP Flag was on so I was going to shoot anything that moved. It got pretty fun when my SG got wind of it and moved in as well. Eventually Niviene got her nuke (?) and people stopped attacking her.
That event worked well for all parties; though it had a clear PvE element to it led by a community mod, people PvPd and had fun with that part too. Even my PvE friend on that server that HATES PvP engaged in the activity. He didn't complain at all.
In his words:
"I don't like PvP, I choose not to engage in it but this is a PvP zone and I'm not going to complain about people using the zone for its intended purpose." -

Ah, I just noticed the 3rd is a Saturday. I can never make Saturdays.
Just heard Machina can't make it and Funk isn't crazy about it either.
Is there anyway we can sked this on another day? I know a lot of people are out Saturdays and I'm not planning on hauling my laptop around town on a down day.
GL HF I guess, I'll try to make it when I can. -

Quote:Pretty much with Silas here.
Edit: I do still occasionally dabble when I feel like it, but that's very rarely. Push button -> receive Large Pile of Internet Money does have a certain appeal, but for the most part I find marketeering pretty uninteresting.
At the moment, I'm just storing redside. I'm buying as many purple recipes/crafted purples as I can and storing them. When the market runs dry, I'll do a few runs on maps and craft and store the drops I get.
Hilariously, Castle has commented that there was something enormously broken with items going beyond the inf cap but still the Devs plan to do nothing about it.
Makes me wish for the "good old days" where Positron increased the drop rate of costume recipes...if only Purples and PvPIOs gave us special top hats and sunglasses as well, perhaps they'd flow like honey. -
Yeah, we've gotten these. If you mouse over the url for the spambot it's subtly different from the real thing.
I've also received the WoW ones even though I deactivated 3 years ago...I mean, feel free to take action against my account with a level 9 undead warrior with nothing on him. -
Quote:Try the Market section or the PvP/Arena sections. There's always someone with one kicking around, then it's up to you two to settle on a way of transferring the inf/IO.What's really crazy is that I still can't get one, at 5 billion.
Or you could roll the dice on some PvP matches hoping to get one...
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahah..*wheeze*...hahah aha.
If I get one as a drop I'll let know. -
Quote:>.> Glad to help you out with that (that and your unlimited budget helps, ha)Mind Welder's build is disgusting......You know it's good when i'm not bringing my brute...
Brutes might not actually be bad, if you have Taunt/Webnades and can spam them pretty well (and Phase) out there. At worst you pull people off kills they would get, at best you can contribute to the attacks and put in some decent damage. -
Updating:
1. Team Funk
@XFunk - Mind/Fire/Scorp Dominator (Mind Welder)
@Aponiwi - Energy/WP Stalker (Silent Crash)
@Neuronia - Mind/Cold/Primal Controller (Coldly Logical Kara) -
Hydra Trial might be tough, you need to drop all four generators then hit the Hydra.
Dr. Quaterfield requires simulclicks.
Cavern of Transcendance trial would be amusing... -
Ask them if they plan to review powers deemed under/overpowered as it may be.
Any new Arena maps possible?
PvP IO drop rate examination?
Bugged powers/IOs and potential fixes? -
I start work soon (hopefullly) at the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission...we don't have nukes but BOY DO WE WISH WE DID!!!! Or maybe we do have nukes >.>
-
Smaller turnout tonight but still lots of fun, especially the 3 v 3 in cage map (!) that was a complete madhouse. Thanks all!
-
BillZ is pretty cool when he PvPs, though he can be grumpy at times.
Would be glad to compete against him.

Diving into aggro cap of +2 Nemesis on my /Energy Aura Brute and reaping the sweet, sweet rewards.
Brb, need to reset this mission.
