It's already been nerfed, long ago.

Or I can use him as motivation to achieve more with my life.
[/ QUOTE ]
The only motivation he's qualified to provide is inspiration to not be a lying sack.
Oh, and "how to draw a corporate paycheck for working on your own project", I guess. Which is impressive, on a fairly debased level. -

Way off topic but the man has an audience of between 20-30 million people on a daily basis
[/ QUOTE ]
Rush has always listed his audience numbers per week to skew perceptions five-fold in his favor. His largest audience was in 2003 with 20 million listeners per week (4mil/day) and the current stat is 14mil per week (2.8mil/day). Impressive numbers but nowhere near this 30mil number you've imagined into existence.

evil never triumphs, good never triumphs...the eternal struggle between them is where stories live.

I ignore a lot of people- I've actually opened a new thread and seen that it starts with four "you are ignoring this user" posts in a row, from two or three different people.

Six in a row is my record. -
I like how being a troll is a-ok with the powers that be, but stating the obvious gets you a slap on the hand from the Nanny Corps.

y'all stop getting good pool C boss drops, it's enough to give a guy a complex!

If you replace "funny" with "wrong", Fan and Ogon are the Laurel & Hardy of the market forums.

I don't recall any of the marketeers really challenging me on any of that. Maybe the prevailing wisdom has changed since then, but, as a lot of the people posting now were the same people posting then, I kinda doubt it.
[/ QUOTE ]
You can absolutely do it over a limited timeframe, under the right circumstances. I did it on a smaller scale with Ancient Bones.
it takes timing, know how and a lot of work, it isn't sustainable over the long term and doesn't deliver a very good return-per-slot on your investment.
Kudos for pulling it off, I know how difficult it is. -

It would seem that not everyone agrees he is the plague to end all plagues.

I find myself curious, as a marketeer, as to the number of my fellows who have their particular niches in which they earn the majority of their inf, and the rest is just fluff in the pillowcase.
[/ QUOTE ]
I enjoy finding niches more than exploiting them.
Once I prove to myself that something works, I ditch it and go looking for something else.
But in my experience this is very atypical marketeer behavior.
Most folk find a rich vein and mine it until it runs dry. -
A for effort, Ful, and a very useful, well written piece.

and a quick comment:
[ QUOTE ]
As I write this, the price for blueside level 50 Doctored Wounds looks like this:
2,500,000
1,011,125
1,011,125
1,200,000
1,011,123
... someone has a big stack of bids sitting at 1,011,125 (or 123) and is probably reselling them at something just over 2 million.
[/ QUOTE ]
As an eeebil flipper, what's I suspect here is someone noticing that one guy was buying for 1,011,123 and putting in their own stack of bids at 1,001,125.
I do this all the time when I spot someone's 'niche', throw up a ten-stack of bids at their price +1 (so they know it's on purpose- *twirls mustache evilly*).
You could make a pretty good 'living' doing nothing but poking around the market for these obvious flipping niches and 'cutting in line' for a quick profit. -
Quality stuff Ful, although I don't expect it to have much impact on the type of folk who would most benefit from the information.

Please revert this to the old pre-I14 behavior, which allowed line breaks. For anyone with a carefully written character discription, this is really crap.

co-sign.
it's annoying enough trying to edit anything with the buggy pile of a text editor they stick us with, having irritating, painstaking formatting erased is just unacceptable.
I haven't had such trials with formatting since the dark days of pre-WYSIWYG word processing....it's 2009, for the love of pete! -
Having gone 1-50 with a fire/dark, I honestly don't understand how anyone would skip Darkest Night. That's just pure, unadulterated lunacy. Who cares if it draws aggro when nobody can hit you.
Good to know my recent string of agreement with B_I has come to an end, I was starting to get a little worried.
I have a high level mind/kin controller, and kin is a super fun, if busy, secondary.
I'm more partial to fire/rad than fire/kin for some reason. Hit 50 with my fire/rad, never got a fire/kin out of Kings. -

Hey guys....hoping this is the right forum. Anywho I've come across some LoTGs from the merit vendors and I was intending on posting them on the BM but I decided to announce on this forum if anyone would like to purchase them directly. 80 Mil each, they're the Recharge ones you get from the merit vendor. I can meet you anywhere red side in Virtue

Hmmm. So someone who registered on the forums YESTERDAY, wants to make an expensive trade outside of the market system.
That sounds like a great deal to me.

Check out his posting history. He was working on a Bane Spider so I am guessing he ran a lot of Strike forces or arcs.

Or he's a dirty MA EXPLOITER burrrrn him burn himmmm!!111 -
[ QUOTE ]
Sure it's a pain in the butt sometimes to have to travel across the game, but really in this game you can get anywhere inside about 2 minutes.
[/ QUOTE ]
Valid reasons to hate arcs that send you all over the place:
1: Low level
It's just dumb making people jog all over the place when they don't have a travel power. The mayhem/safeguard temp travel powers are a big help with this one.
2: Slow computer
I had an old machine that took so long to zone I never had to 'officially' go AFK, I just waited until we had to zone and then wandered off for a while.
The hamsters would still be grinding away when I got back.
3: Stupid game design.
I used to HATE Founders because it was a dead-end zone. Now, with the train station, it doesn't bug me.
Also, we've got it pretty easy these days even without a pimped out SG base- Pocket D teleporter, market teleporter, Oroboros portal, temp travel powers.....it's very rare these days that a mission location annoys me. -
It's amusing how the market paranoids attribute everything to shadowy, malicious cartels when most shortages and price spikes are the result of 'casual gamers' buying stuff to make things with.

would Bunnygoat be a hero or a villain?
Hmm. -
[ QUOTE ]
What CoV suffers the most because of is its basic premise - it's a City of Villains. There's just no fun to be had being evil in a city where everyone is evil and everything is dirty.
[/ QUOTE ]
As a faction in a larger game it can work.
As a "stand alone expansion", or whatever marketing gobbedygook they were calling it at release, I agree it was destined to fail.
There's a reason the overwhelming majority of comics, movies, books, etc have heroes as protagonists. -
it's cute that you think I still waste my time reading your drivel.

Especially when a bunch of us were planning on trying to fill every bid on Luck Charms at once, and we'd built up a stockpile for, like, a month.

Yes..that does tend to stick in ones memory.
