My sympathies. Truly.
My age epiphany occurred last year when my wife and I realized our oldest daughter was the same age we were when she was born. -
Wow. I guess I must have missed something apocalyptic.
I suppose that comes from being an infrequent player.
Is it safe to go back in yet? -
This is the one and only Irish joke I've ever heard that I thought was truly worthy of being repeated:
An Englishman, a Scotsman and an Irishman walk into a bar. (Already intrigued, aren't you?)
All three order a pint of Guinness. (The plot thickens!)
By the sort of outrageous coincidence that only occurs in jokes of this nature, three flies buzz into the bar and land on the pints, one per glass. (Oh! The horror!)
The Englishman curls his lip in disgust and pushes the tainted pint away.
The Scotsman shrugs, picks the fly off, tosses it over his shoulder and downs his drink.
The Irishman grabs the fly, holds it over the glass and yells, "SPIT IT OUT, Y' BASTUHD! SPIT IT OUT!"
Thankew, thankew... -
Quote:In a flagrant attempt at threadjacking, I'll mention having heard in the news that some archaeologists unearthed an ancient manuscript from an Irish peat bog. After some work, they were able to decipher the title:I'd like to add that it is extremely important we get some sort of Irish jig, along the lines of Riverdance.

Quote:I'd actually create a character with that name, but he'd probably get genericized so quick he wouldn't make it out of the Tutorial.Actually, that sounds more like 1/3. Now, if his last name was Wang instead of Wong, then he would be at 2/3. And if his last name was Wang and first name Willie, then he would be at 100%.

Allons-y!
In my case, it's more a matter of firing up the chainsaw, unlimbering the boomstick, and staring at the incoming threat with a steely glint in the eye.
"Come get some!" -
Um, um... Think, Nestor, think!

Now I'm going to have this song stuck in my head all day.
Who knows? Having missed the previous events, maybe this time I'll actually get a chance to dance with Rikti.
Oooh! Now there's an idea for a new movie: "Dances with Rikti".
And I really wish I was clever enough to come up with my own twisted tune...
"Hey, Rikti, you're so fine,
Even when you invade my mind.
Hey Rikti, hey Rikti!'
Never mind. -
Quote:Yup, you got your work cut out for you.Thank you guys, for not only helping "Avatar: CoH Style!" to score its aforementioned honors on YouTube...
... but its latest one, achieved today: "#47 - Most Discussed (This Week) - Film & Animation". The video has also been publicly Tweeted by @TheGuild, commented on by Felicia Day and one of the members of The Guild's Management, and is still going strong.
And oh yeah, Castle and Niviene like it.
How on earth am I ever going to top this...?

Now step to it!
Seriously, as I am painstakingly watching the accumulated videos at your site in my "copious spare time" <g>, I've added to my list of regrets for having been away that I missed these gems when they were coming out.
Take these accolades as your due. You have certainly earned them. -
I've just recently rejoined the CoH community after a long hiatus, so I guess I've missed your previous contributions, but I have to say, that was a jaw-droppingly amazing piece of work!
Definitely worth every iota of praise and compliments due to you! -
Whichever, there is no doubt that he is a supervillain.
I mean, think about it.
* The distinctive laugh
* The tricked-out vehicle
* The covert intelligence
* The remote nigh-inaccessible lair
* The costumed minions
* The blatant attempts at blackmail
It's a no-brainer. -
Yes, but not in CoH.
I've had the experience in F2F RPG runs, when some aspect or incident about the character gets inflated to a ridiculous level and then used as the butt of continual jokes.
Those games usually don't last long. -
Quote:Just like the days after trenchcoats went active and there was a flood of shades-and-black-trenchcoat wearing toons going around saying "Woah!"...the Avatar movie comes out and three days later Atlas Park is full of blue tall catgirls.
Personally, it sounds to me like a great idea for a SG. Call 'em the Na'Vi-Gatrixes or something.

Quote:Ah, so you mean Westley's a troll?ya know, i agree with you, but westly really isn't the guy who you should take so seriously, he jokes around for reactions, so reacting only feeds him.
Great, I get to try out the ignore feature for this forum.
Thanks for the heads-up! -

Quote:Thanks for the info.Snaptooth is a Red Cap EB, so you need to be able withstand that nasty damage Red Caps do. I've soloed it on Tankers and Scrappers plenty, but I haven't tried it with any others. You'll also run into Tuatha and snow creatures, so you have a variety of damage and encounters. One trick, you don't have to defeat all the snow creatures on the open map to get the key to open Snaptooth's lair. Just look for the snow creature boss that says "winter guard" (all the other snow creature spawns will have a winter lord boss) and defeat that spawn to get the key.
MG, depending on how things are going, it can be hard to find enough people for that WL encounter... I've had it fail a few times... it's really not worth attempting unless you have a lot of people or a team and a half with a good level and power makeup.
I'll give the old man a try. -
Not sure if this is the thread to do so, but being totally new to this whole Winter Event thing, I have to ask: can the Father Time missions be run solo?
The mission text was unclear and I'd hate to find myself trying to put together a team without prep. -
Heh. In our F2F games, that's the code phrase for when combat starts:
"And then the white doves take flight..."
-
I read through the whole thread and am honestly surprised this one didn't come up. It's actually an old in-joke from our gaming group.
From the final scene in the last episode of Inspector Gadget:
"Go Go Gadget Thermonuclear Device! Oops..."
-
Ski slope? What ski slope?
Man, I go away for a while, and they redecorate the place just to make you get lost!
Seriously... What? Where? When? How? And sometimes, why? -

I concur that the Dual Pistols animations do seem to borrow heavily from the action in Equilibrium, which itself gives a strong nod to all the classic HKAT Gun Fu flicks.
Now all we need is a "white doves fly" emote... -
Why do I play on Protector?
'Cause all my stuff is there! D'uh!
Wait. You mean there are other servers? -
Like the OP, I found Walk to be useful to give your character time to recover endurance between mobs in a mission and still be doing something other than standing there. The fact it also turns all toggles off to make recovery that much quicker is icing on the cake.
I've just realized I haven't tried Walk with a female toon, mostly 'cause I don't have that many of them (maybe, two?).
Now I have the strange urge to log on and check it out...
