Quote:I was going to post the links for ordering but figured it wouldn't be needed, and I wished to avoid possible forum rules problems.I'm gettin the full series set.
For those who might doubt the authenticity of the wiki article, here is a link to a tvshowsondvd.com news post, which itself has links to the official store where you can preorder it.
Now if only they can resolve all the problems with getting the 90's Spiderman cartoon completely on DVD...... -
No, I am not referring to rebooting your computers, I refer to the fact that at long last the CGI cartoon series REBOOT! finally comes to DVD in it's entirety!
There will be a Season 1+2 box set for those that already have the Season 3 DVD's and Daemon War/My Two Bobs DVD from ADV films that are now long out of print.
There will also be a complete series set, 9 DVD's plus assorted bonuses. Though I have the Season 3 DVD's and Daemon War/My Two Bobs, I might end up getting this so that I have a copy of Daemon War/Two Bobs that doesn't suffer the audio problems that the original DVD release had.

Quote:The Death Star's own size is it's own worst enemy (besides the small thermal exhaust port of course). A station the size of a planet is just too big to be effectively run by a station commander and his Sith Lord partner.Would those be the plans that are so easily stolen?
The whole security layout of the place is so totally weak:
1 - The door to the control room overlooking the docking bay should have some kind of code, or eye/hand scanner, so only genuine members of staff can enter.
2 - Prisoner escorts shouldn't just be able to wander through the place without getting clearance to access the areas closer to the detenion area.
3 - Again, the door to the detention area should have some kind of codes/scans - or there should be a holding area outside where prisoner escorts hand over their priosners to the detention block staff, so only those who work there are actually allowed in.
4 - There should be a nearby guardroom that can deploy extra security if someone manages to break into the detention area control room, rather than just having the place watched with ineffective security cameras.
5 - There are only 2 sets of doors between prisoners and access to the rest of the station - and the cell corridor is in line with the exit, meaning that anyone who escapes can see the way out right away.
6 - There shouldn't be a garbage chute that close to the detention block - or if there really has to be one there, it should have much smaller openings in it so no human sized objects can enter it.
7 - There should be security cameras in the garbage compactor, and the maintenance door should be guarded and/or protected by codes/scans.
8 - The tractor beam control area should be in a large, well-lit room that's staffed at all times, and any attempt to shut it off should require clearance from at least 2 other people in the chain of command.
The whole design of the station is flawed, but it's made worse by the sloppy and incompetent way it's run - the entire security set up can be outwitted by 3 men, 2 droids and a large humanoid, who can then run rings around the inept response to the security breach using the poorly designed layout of the station and escape with an extremly valuable political prisoner.
As Luke stated to the Emperor in ROTJ "Your overconfidence is your weakness" and he was right. The Death Stars were truly greatest sign of the Emperor's overconfidence in his power, that he had Vader firmly under control, that the galaxy was his, and that he could easily annihilate all resistance. -

Quote:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman_Beyond#ComicsQuestion! When does Terry appear in the comics as part of Earth-1? I must find this comic!!!
In Batman #700 (June 2010), Terry McGinnis is included in the one off as a part of the DC Universe AU presented, having a history with Damian Wayne, who rescued him as Batman from Two-Face-Two when he was held hostage as an infant. Two-Face-Two believed Terry McGinnis was one of a pair of twin boys who were the sons of billionaires rather than Warren and Mary McGinnis. Two-Face-Two transformed Terry into a miniature duplicate of the Joker with the Joker's toxin. Damian administers the antidote after he rescues Terry. And in the following page a teenaged McGinnis is seen behind the Batman cowl, battling the resurrected Joker, with Damian as his mentor, instead of Bruce.
Superman/Batman Annual #4 (2010) is a single over-sized issue featuring Terry McGinnis' Batman. Author Paul Levitz penned the story, with experience collaborating with Paul Dini and Alan Burnett in the past. It picks up after Superman's first meeting with the new Batman taking place in the DCAU, and supposedly jibing with the DCU -

And remember, it was a bolt of lightning they needed in Back to the Future 1 to give the Flux Capacitor the energy required due to having no plutonium on hand in 1955......wonder if Doc Brown was on the verge of discovering antimatter?

Well I don't see Mephisto anywhere in the photo, so that's a good thing.

Quote:Hm, Shadow Shard pvp......interesting idea.I'd actually hoped that they'd revamp the Shadow Shard into a series of co-op zones (actually, 5 new zones: 1 hero, 1 villain, 1 hero-themed co-op, 1 villain-themed co-op, and 1 open PVP), but the addition of those new badges prety much dashed my hopes for a total revamp.

Hm, I wonder if Batman's encounter with Owlman in Crisis on Two Earths is what helped inspire him to begin upgrading his gear and build the batsuit that would be passed to Terry in Batman Beyond? Owlman was wearing an exosuit that boosted his own strength and speed and his weapons were a bit better then Bruce's.

If it can help us harness antimatter and develop new energy sources then it's all good.

Quote:I can easily see the shard becoming a Co/Op zone IF future incarnate TF's were added to the shard. That would perhaps be one of the best things they could do with the shard.See, that's the reason why I felt the newer badges were useful: It opened the zones to exploration and activity to people who'd just avoid the Shard or the sewers, for instance, for lack of anything to do.
What I'd like to see to further exploit this is more established exploration options for a place like the Shard. We did it with Faultline, we can do it with the Shard. Expand the Portal Corp/military bases, make the vendors more sensible rather than the token ones we dropped in there, add more Incarnate TF/trial options, perhaps finally make it a hero/villain neutral combat zone, like how it works in Praetoria...all of these things add to the invitation to players to actually go to the Shard with a desire to play and explore, rather than view it as a transit zone that's best seen as a blur.
So, at least with the Shard and the Sewers, I felt like those explore badges actually DO accomplish something.Enforced tourism isn't a bad thing if it's not hard to do.

The fact that Terry is the son of Bruce was pretty much a no brainer. I figured that was the case when the cartoon first started. Didn't expect Amanda Waller to have a hand in it though.

The preview art for ASM 651 makes me think that the artist was a student of Rob Liefeld. ugh.

Quote:Sometimes Caleb may be floating around from a previous attempt to spawn him. Use a keybind or tray button with "Targetcustomnext caleb" and have someone with some stealth and flight abilities fly around Thorn Island constantly using the keybind to see if they get a target lock on Caleb. Have some +Perception on hand as that will help since you need to get close to Caleb for him to be visible, also look for groups of the spectral demons flying in the air as they likely are with Caleb.A team of giant monster hunters and myself attempted to spawn Caleb last night. According to the wiki the spawn trigger is defeating 100 spectres during a certain span of the in game day.
So we started ghost hunting when the sun went up in game and continued until the moon was directly overhead. I know for a fact we killed more than 100 of the darned things. I took out at least ten or so of the large spawns that were only the ghosts on Thorn Isle.
But we got nothing. No announcement of his presence, no nothing.
Has anyone else had problems dragging that giant spook out to get his badge?
Generally I target lock on Caleb, and set to auto follow while stealthed and alert the team to target through me to start off the battle. -
I enjoyed the Batman Beyond mini and I've read issue one of the ongoing. Enjoyed them so far.
The cartoon always left Dick Grayson's fate in question. In Return of the Joker, Barbara told Terry to "Look up Nightwing sometime, he's got stories." So we know Dick was alive and retired and likely very bitter toward Bruce.
When Barbara walked into the Batcave early in Batman Beyond and Terry freaked out at her being there, Barbara looked at her old costume and smiled and said "I see you sewed up the bullet holes". She later tells Terry that being partnered with great and of course also dropped the silent bombshell that she and Bruce were more then just costumed partners. She then states that for Bruce there was nothing but the street, nothing but the mission and that Bruce wouldn't or perhaps more accurately couldn't stop being Batman. So why did Barbara stop being Batgirl? We get an implication that she was shot up a bit, and also an implication that she got tired of being a costumed adventurer and couldn't keep up with Bruce's obsession.
Tim Drake: okay so he was turned into Joker 2.0 or Joker Beyond by the original Joker after Joker beat him, tortured him and brainwashed him, so we know why he retired. However even though Tim is now free of the Joker, I don't believe that the Joker is truly gone. For all the years that Tim lived as Joker 2.0 he got married and had a couple of kids......I wouldn't be surprised if Joker 2.0 prepped the kids to be new version of the Joker.
Still I consider the Batman Beyond comics to be canon with the Batman Beyond cartoon, but I don't see them as being the canon future for Bruce in the comics. -

Quote:But it does raise the question of "When is there enough?" I'm of the believe that putting map badges in the sewers and shadow shard and boosting the hazard zones to 8 map badges was simply for the sake of adding badges just to add badges. Granted that exploring around the shard was kind of cool to see, the only reason for people to do it is that they are collectors or need 5 merits to help get an IO or something.oh they will. just you watch. hopefully it won't be like the ouro or crafting badges though.
Only zones now where they could add map badges would be the PvP zones......
So what's next? New plaques? Doesn't seem necessary to have more of those. More defeat badges? Eh. New TF badges? Ok, those are usually worth seeking out. -
Quote:Well make up and CGI are always advancing. Perhaps they have something now that won't rip up Rhys-Davies skin or they can use CGI instead. But I don't blame him at all for refusing to endure that again.Yes, poor old John Rhys-Davies....I own the Extended Editions of the original trilogy of movies and the behind the scenes documentaries showed how he was just purely unlucky and suffered damage to his face, with his skin reacting to the makeup. It was bad enough to remove layers of skin from the affected areas, making him look blotchy and odd. Rhys-Davies was known then not to go out as often as the rest of the cast for dinners and the like, and there's even a bit after filming wrapped where he burned the offending facial prosthetic.
He is on the record as saying he would never ever endure that experience again. Now, it's possible they'd be able to find an application for the prosthetics that wouldn't damage his face, but I don't blame the poor man in the slightest for his decision.
Just a note regarding Sir Christopher Lee's involvement in The Hobbit...the producers and Jackson are on record as saying that in deference to Sir Christopher's age and concern over his health over such long distances to travel, they are more than happy to take production to England to accomodate him.
