Article makes some humorous comic/star trek references, but apparently scientists are allegedly a step closer to the creation, containment and study of antimatter...
  2. Many of my alts are taking Rebirth. No problems at all.

This is why when I form a trial I tend to form it in a non-coop zone such as Brickstown and state that heroes/vigilante and rogues welcome to join. Granted Villain alignment alts can't and yes that is a downer as I don't want people to feel excluded, but I find myself weary of overcrowded co-op zones when a regular zone and being able to accept three alignments of characters works just as well to fill up a league.

IF bases can be modified to launch trials and remove alignment restrictions for the sake of the league that would be great.

I believe, however, that their bones and musculature are a bit more dense than humans, meaning they are, even without powers, still stronger and more durable than the average human. This is not because of solar radiation, but becase Krypton has(had) a stronger gravitational pull than Earth.
I believe this is the case.

Would it be better if say for the one badge we had to collect only the 10 acids and no pacification bombs, but STILL be able to use the acids on the doors? Also for the grenades badge to be able to collect all 10, and NO acids and still be allowed to use the pacification bombs against marauder, the stipulation for both being that you must win the lambda?

The badge for getting 10 of each and not using them at all I am fine with, it's the other two.

Strictly speaking the No Death/no temp Mo badges can't be gotten in a single run if someone gets killed.

However yes, this is the only new Mo Badge I can think of that cannot under the current rules for them be obtained in a single run.

Apex: don't revive the police drones or let them be destroyed and then the next mish is to win in under 15 minutes against Battlemaiden. Can be done in one run.

Tin Mage: all badges can be obtained in one run, even the Midnighter badge provided the team has a plan and certain temp powers ready to blitz Director 11 with.

B.A.F: all badges can be obtained in one run to obtain the Mo.

Lambda: not possible in one run per current design.

Certainly Issues 19, 20 and 20.5 are focused on Incarnate stuff in the same way Issues 14 and 15 were focused on the Mission Architect. The thing is after Issue 15 the MA took to the backseat or the roof if we're honest. Now I'm not naive enough to believe that the Incarnate stuff will end up next to the MA, it most definitely has dibs on shotgun; however, that doesn't mean that the devs are "charting a course" or focusing solely on Incarnate content. In-fact it's been pretty much confirmed at Issue 21 will have little to do with Incarnate slots or content at all. According to the May 2011 Producer's letter it'll be focused on a new zone and revamping of old lower level zones which tells me that they get that end-game can't be THE game.

The most amazing thing about it is that War Witch has famously said that revamping old zones takes as long to do as a new zone and she'd rather the team focus on new zones yet reportedly they're doing both next issue. That's a case of a developer team understanding that while new zones are great we all fell in love with the old ones too, and they could use some attention. Bases are no different. Yes, bases have been long ignored, they're in the third row of the City of... van but that doesn't mean they've been forgotten. It just takes more time for the calls of this community to cut through the noise of every other one.

So don't stop calling out, continue to, respectfully of course. Eventually we will be heard. And even if it's several small things (Like addressing various low-hanging fruit) it's still something. We don't need to seek out the Hail Mary, the last chance play to win it all, we're only in the first quarter and this MMO more than anything is a game of inches. A little here and a little there and soon we'll be near the end-zone.
It's also possible that the coding for the bases system is so tangled up and messed up that instead of fixing and tuning it all up, that they may need to junk the whole thing and create an all new SG/VG base system. I suppose it is a question of which is going to be quicker and more worth the time and resources. Pure speculation of course.

Of course, that would require Supergroups to function as Co-op Locations, so you could invite anyone from anywhere to your League (not Team, League) from your SG Base. You could then use the Mission Computer (Base Item) to sign up for an Incarnate Trial, and it would open the typical LFG window to do so. People would have the option of using the Raid Teleporter to get to the Incarnate Trial, instead of just waiting around for the counter to complete.

Seriously ... the entire "Functionality" needed to form up and launch Incarnate Leagues is sitting inside the Supergroup Bases (which are gathering dust after all these years of neglect).

By no means am I saying that SG Bases ought to REPLACE the Incarnate system we've got now ... just merely that the Incarnate system we've got could be EASILY EXPANDED to make very good use of SG Bases, and their built in resources.
I agree bases and the mish comp and raid tp unit could be a good way to go to an incarnate trial then waiting for someone to click the green button so that everyone gets "beamed up" into the trial. It would also give a better sense that we are actually crossing the dimensions to Praetoria via the raid tp unit rather then being "beamed up".

Perhaps a restructure of the league system so that it can be started in a base similar to a CoP...

Indeed.....the one and only redside mish that only gave 3 outcast bosses at most that had to be constantly reset so that villains could get weatherman in the pre GR days seemed more fun then some of these. I'm just glad that my two main badgers and a couple of other alts picked up MoLambda.....I don't think I'll seek that intentionally on other alts.

The Partner badge for assisting 50 weekly task forces....meh. While 50 is doable, it still seems like a bit of a grind.

Still we shall see what happens, perhaps this new badge requirement will alter or else the trial will be adjusted.

This requirement plus having two badge hunters also has taken a lot of the fun out of badging. My two badgers are at 1221 total, and only need badges that are currently unattainable and of course vet badges they don't yet have. Perhaps they need to hang up the badge hunting gear.

This. Superman isn't God-mode just about as close as you can get, same with Captain Marvel/Shazam

#1. If you were to try to defeat superman it would be great to have access to the ability to control his powers, turning them on and off, at will. This can be done relatively easily. Luthor created a satellite based device that could do this in the late 80s early 90s... it was one of the first superman stories i read in my readings of superman...

#2. depending on version of superman you don't need shields and such... you just need to be fast enough, smart enough, and durable enough to keep just out of range for long enough to drain off his power... This was done in the early 90s to some effect. It didn't work 100% but worked well enough for proof of concept.

#3. Red "solar" light is and always has been a bad idea. While it is true that superman loses his powers under red solar light to varying degrees... it could be that he just hasn't found what powers he has under red solar light... As unlikely as it might be I wouldn't tempt it is all.
He slowly but surely runs out of stored yellow solar energy when exposed to red sunlight, so if Earth's sun turned red or the light coming to it was refracted to the red spectrum before it reached Earth (this was done in Superman TAS) then he would slowly at first then rapidly power down. Exposure to the yellow sun will swiftly recharge him. Also if he's exposed to Kryptonite and there is a greater source of solar energy nearby for him to tap into then that can offset the kryptonite.

For your second example: if he's still absorbing yellow sunlight then he really won't run out of power unless you can make him expend it as fast if not faster then he is absorbing it. Case in point: Death of Superman, Superman and the Hulk...ooops meant to say Doomsday pummel each other to death. After Superman returned, the Phantom Stranger took Superman and Lois on an "out of time/space" tour of sorts to show them what happened and it was revealed that in the Doomsday fight he was expending energy faster then he could absorb it, but that even as he collapsed and died his body was still absorbing solar energy which kept it from total and irreversible metabolic shutdown.

So basically for scenario #2 you need the Hulk....er sorry I meant Doomsday (can't imagine how I mix them up ) or else someone like Darkseid to engage Superman in battle.

Throw them back into the revolving door that is comic book justice system? He would have to spend the rest of his life knowing she died because of him. Batman knows this. At least in the JLU cartoons.
There was an episode of Superman TAS where Lois got zapped to an alternate Earth where she was killed and Superman couldnt save her so in his grief and missery he joined up with Luthor to bring "order" to Metropolis. Luthor of course was doing things behind that Superman's back and when Superman found out he repented and stopped Luthor.

Point is this: some villains may have figured out that Lois is a "Safety valve" of sorts that helps keep Superman under control. Any villain that kills her runs the risk of pushing Superman over the edge and facing his wrath.

You basically described Luthor's power suit that he's had over the years in the comics and cartoons. Though I don't think it boosts Luthor's reaction times to Superman's levels.

Also such a suit doesn't do a lot of good when Superman finally gets ticked off and decides to take you down. Case in point: Batman/Superman Public Enemies.

Batman takes off in the missile to manually fly it into the kryptonite asteroid, Luthor tries to stop the launch, and Superman stops Luthor. Luthor attempts to attack Superman again and despite kryptonite powering the suit, Superman caught Luthor's punch in his hand, crushed the gauntlet of the suit and said "That was my BEST FRIEND!!.....AND YOU JUST KILLED HIM!" One punch from Superman, and Luthor coughed blood and quickly realized the error he made in angering Superman and flew away with Superman chasing him around the globe, slowly but surely dismantling the suit and finally decking Luthor.

Problem is that being exposed to red solar energy doesn't instantly negate his powers, but he will run out of stored solar energy if he's not still exposed to a yellow sun.

Case in point: in JLU when Captain Atom fought Superman to keep The Question from being rescued from Cadmus. Captain Atom used red solar energy and gave a good fight but Superman still defeated him.

Immune? no. Highly tolerant to poisons? I'd say yes. It once took a whole liquor store of booze to make the Grey Hulk feel intoxicated before he reverted to Banner at sunrise, leaving Banner severely intoxicated and passing out and not reviving until it was almost sundown.

So at least a store full of booze would be needed for Superman too.

Indeed...a challenge I don't mind. A challenge that borders on the absurd if not actually absurd I do mind. A badge that can be instantly lost because someone:

    1. has bad lag spike that gets them killed
    2. gets killed while their client is crashing and comes back dead
    3. is too dense to follow instructions
    4. decides to do a LEEROY JENKINS with their squishy alt thinking they will live
    5. doesn't watch their blue power and their armors all drop due to stamina loss (seriously eat a blue and recheck that alts stamina slotting!)
    6. or the person has a sickening level of unmitigated arrogance and refuses to follow instructions...

that kind of badge just isn't needed, and we have enough of them now. (Looks at the other Master badges)

If you go vigilante you can then hit the redzones and gain progress towards them but they won't award until you go full villain.

I'd suggest this: Go vigilante, then park redside and start the first day job, when you log in after 21 days you'll have the badge for being vigilante for 7 days and a full progress bar for that redside day job. After that, work the others up to full progress bars, then switch to villain side and watch the badge explosion you should have for getting the dayjobs, plus any badges that you may receive for going from blue to red such as red accolades to replace blue ones that you may have earned, gladiator badges that you are now able to receive, etc.

I agree that it looks like the league must fulfill both criteria to get that badge. We'll see.

As to any difficulty with this new trial, I suspect it will stem more from being a new trial vs. not having enough slotted incarnates on the league since by now there should be many alts running around with the slots opened and at least slotted to Tier 3.

  25. Been past 1200 for sometime but now both my badge hunters are wrapped until new badges are unleashed upon us.

Of course certain badges like Celebrant, BH and Passport are written off as unattainable pending changes to the system, and of course there are vet badges yet to be gained.

Still 1221 badges on both is nice.
