Indeed, Wolverine may be an honorable man at heart, but on the outside he's more of a berzerker warrior. Plus the fact that he has retractable razor sharp indestructible claws. Anyone he faces with the claws should be carved into pieces.....

As much as I enjoyed the 90's X-men cartoon, how many times did Wolverine face a robot, someone in a suit of armor, or someone with a hand held weapon that he would slash with the claws instead of the person using the weapon?.......oh I'd say about EVERY fight. Didn't care for X-men Evoluton (Cyclops a student and Wolverine/Storm are teachers...?????) enjoyed Wolverine and the X-men as it was a bit grittier but they still held back on what Wolverine could/should do.
  3. Perhaps Snipes will do Blade 4: We apologize for Blade Trinity.

As to the previous GR film, it blended nicely elements from the 60's, 70's and 90's GR comics, the main flaw wasn't Nic Cage, but rather that they went for PG 13 rating. This....is....GHOST RIDER......not Spiderman or Superman. Ghost Rider is not a character for comic fans of all ages. the first movie should have amped up the fights, dumped some of the jokes and went for the R rating. I still like the first movie though despite that.

Just view the new trailer, liking what I see. These people seem to understand that GR isn't a "nice" hero like Spidey.

As to the vomiting the bullets, that reminds me of a scene back in the 70's GR series when Blaze/GR caught a vial of nitroglycerine that was thrown at him, drank it and laughed as it exploded in his head without harming him.

I do think there's going to need to be a fair bit of work regardless, and there'll be a lot of back and forth between PBs and WS - and I don't want to see either side *nerfed* as a result. Peacebringers should still have, for instance, the "reliable" buffs versus the Warshade "roller coaster."

I will, to be blunt, be wary of this version of the powers team. I find it amusing that since the AOE buffs, I've heard (fairly frequently) that buffing is at times even more frustrating than it was before, for instance. And just looking at the comments on humanform *now* making Dwarf fairly pointless - well, "Castle was right," it seems fair to say, when it comes to humanform mez protection (given perma-able lf.) He didn't want to give it to humanform in order to keep Dwarf from being obsoleted. *looks up a few posts.* Yeah...

I'm half wondering if they're having to re-learn lessons or something. There are things I appreciate - I'm not just here to tear them down or anything. But it just doesn't feel like solid footing with them yet.
I agree that a "ground up" rebuild may not be popular with devs or players but at this rate with PB's I begin to wonder if a complete overhaul isn't the answer. Yes WS don't need much in the way of tune up.

Perhaps changing human forms' beam/blaster attacks to psi attacks like mez or holds, keep the melee attacks in human form, tune up Photon Seekers and Pulsar, knockback becomes KNOCKDOWN for many of PB's powers, Nova form's beam attacks all get a damage boost but at the cost of greater endurance burn, Dwarf keeps the melee attacks albeit stronger then human form's, and perhaps an enhanced version of Dawn Strike with the penalty that if you use it in dwarfmode, you burn up your stamina and revert to human to form. Also let Dwarf mode have end drain and slow resistances that the other 2 forms do not have. Also perhaps Dwarf mode could have a fury bar?

Mez protection: as PB and WS are basically two beings merged into one that means technically there are two minds to be mezzed/controlled by enemies. That alone should give a mez resistance to all forms.

It's perfectly fair to concentrate on White Dwarf here, and not just because it's about PB changes. There's more interplay or interaction between Dark dwarf and WS Humanform just on the basis of the mires. The mire (aside from being another viable attack in dwarf form) keeps Dwarf relevant to a Warshade.

For a current-live PB, Dwarf gives mez protection and exceptionally high resists. But you're limited to three attacks (if you want to count a procced Taunt as four, be my guest. I won't.) That's... it. MAYBE another (reliable) heal. But with the changes going through... that doesn't "sell" White Dwarf enough. (This vs WS, with three single target attacks and an AOE that's also a self buff. More offensive potential, plus resist, mez protection, etc.)

White Dwarf now goes from "Mez protection and toughness" to ... well, a negative, "Cost in slots." I can, if I want another heal (what's left to WD) snag Aid Self and - even slotting for interrupt reduction - still burn far fewer slots.

At this point, though... *shrug* Doesn't matter. I think we've hit critical mass of cooks vs stew, and the whole thing's starting to look like a mess.
Perhaps PB and WS need to be brought back to the drawing board and rebuilt from the ground up? Keep the forms but make sure that all forms have their appropriate strengths and advantages to each other, and perhaps even let Khelds get a few more enhancement slots for the powers.
  7. It makes sense that trials are going away due to COH Freedom.

As to the speculation of a September launch...well I wouldn't mind seeing it launch before the holidays so that any lingering bugs can be smoothed out before the holiday events activate. But I'd prefer it to stay in testing/beta phase for as long as it takes.
  8. Would rather see us get an account-wide vault for our alts that stores recipies, salvage, enhancements and we can purchase more space for it.

It would be neat if, after the side quests are done, and they get to the Book of Omens, some representatives of those that they had helped along the way make a cameo appearances to aid in the completion of that main quest.

I've always been a sucker for those "It's good to have friends" moments in RPGs.
I suspect it will end with everyone Lion-O aided teaming up with him to put a permenant beat down on Mumm-ra.

Yes but would it take much to beat the original series? As classic as the original series is, some of the episodes were rather.......well, stupid I guess is a good word. After they brought in the sword of Plundarr and New Thundera was when things started to get much better.

  12. Looks at the list of Kheld changes.....looks at new build designed for defense cap in human form that I was about to implement for my PB's.....smiles at the concept of perma light form......back to the old drawing board.

True, that does indeed sound like a Raider's or even Last Crusade reference.

Wonder if the Skull set up the sleeper program in case of defeat? That would make for a nice Cap sequel.

Would love to see them do a movie with the original Torch.

Chris Evans pulled Cap off. I really had my doubts, but he did it.

Hugo Weaving. Well, it's hard to think of a superhero movie with a villain of his quality.

Tommy Lee Jones stole almost every scene he was in.

Peggy Carter was a strong female presence. Very happy for that.

Even Sgt. Bucky worked for me.

Loved how the Howling Commandos were Cap's group.

Still not a fan of their version of Nick, but at least he's not the real Nick so it's more acceptable.

Really looking forward to the Avengers.
Tommy Lee, enjoyed his character and felt he was definitely channeling Agent K of the MIB.

Hugo Weaving: fantastic as the Skull, plus it was great that we see him looking normal for about half the movie and the second half he has removed the latex-skin mask to reveal his now true appearance. This to me was much better then Schmidt wearing a red skull mask and then removing it for the final fight scenes to show the star's face. For Cap about the only time I could say he was deliberately showing the star's face was the scene where he tried to save Bucky. As to Weaving as the Skull, the only thing that would have made it even better is if in the scene where he executes the person who said "We fought to the last man" is if that character was named Anderson and Skull says: "evidently not, Herr Anderson!"

Sgt. Bucky: well ED Brubaker in recent years had brought Bucky back and showed he really wasn't the doofy sidekick that Bucky was back in the old Timely Captain America Comics and all the Timely issues became WW2 Propaganda films about Cap and Bucky. Bucky instead is rewritten to be a fully trained combat soldier and was given the maximum possible training so that he could serve as Cap's partner in the war. Which to me makes more sense then having some doofy kid suiting up as a sidekick which should really get the hero arrested for child endangerment instantly. Also the scene in the movie where he picks up Cap's shield in one hand and pistol in the other was a nice Bucky as Captain America moment from the recent comics. Now one must wonder if a Cap sequel will have Bucky back as the Winter Soldier.

Wonder if after the war the Howling Commandos helped start SHIELD along with Howard Stark? I bet Peggy Carter also may be revealed as a SHIELD founder as well.

  19. Here's a funny thing regarding Khan: in the Shatner novel THE RETURN, Spock was trying to deduce who would mostly likely have taken Kirk's body from it's grave in the previous novel (Ashes of Eden).

He's sitting at a terminal and had punched up data files on Kirk and all the enemies he made over the years, many being Klingon of course, some being corrupt Federation officers that Kirk broght down, and more. He then begins to logically eliminate candidates from the list using the main criteria of who would have the resources to still be alive in the present and who would hate Kirk so much as to still carry out a vendetta after the past 80 years...... Well Spock whittles the list down to a few candidates to investigate (i think funnily enough that Harry Mudd was still on it), and Ryker points at one entry that Spock left on the list and says "But Khan's dead!" Spock merely says "I know".

The one enemy of Kirk whose hatred of Kirk would indeed transcend time, space and even death.

Khan led his revolt and got put into suspended animation on the Botany Bay long before the timeline changed so it's still possible that the alternate Kirk/Enterprise might encounter him. Not likely but possible.

This still falls under my personal dislike for retcons even tho the Star Trek is well known for retcons.
To be honest if I were Spock-Prime I think I would alert young Kirk and young Spock that if they ever find the Botany Bay drifting in space to lock all phasers and photon torpedoes onto it and vaporize it into it's component molecules.

Also that was a Giant Flying Wing that the Skull had. Lex Luthor had a similar flying wing in the Batman/Superman movie World's Finest. Luthor himself didn't use it but Joker got his hands on it....
