Sure, Ra's wants to pull down civilization, but he's not going to try to physically destroy half the planet to do it. Nor would he likely have the capital to finance such a venture even if he did.
Rha's financial resources seem to rival Batman's, and I think his plan when he first appeared was to cause the Lazarus Pit's to overload and flow over the Earth, causing a rebirth affect to the planet while wiping out a good portion of the population. So while he may not want to blow up the planet, he will still wipe out as much of the population as he feels is necessary.

I can see why they went with Hal Jordan vs. Kyle Raynor, as they really want to promote Hal Jordan as Green Lantern, with the recent movie and possible JL movie. However, I had to puzzle out why they included Cyborg, who only recently became part of the League in the new 52. They left out Plastic Man and Aquaman; yes, they are both unpopular, but they both had memorable ways that they were disabled.
Plastic Man was once mentioned by name in the JLU ep with Booster Gold, but he was never seen. Either it's a popularity issue or a rights issue, imo.

As to Aquaman, his appearance in Superman TAS and JL/JLU was Aquaman done RIGHT. He was the KING of Seas and all knew it and there was respect. Also they made much better use of his aquatic telepathy when it was used. But the superfriends stigma still lingers I suspect.

Also, Vandal Savage vs. Ra's? I've always found Ra's to be a more formidable opponent; he seems more like Batman, in that he is far more prepared for possible outcomes.
Rha's is Batman's nemesis in the same way that Moriarty is to Sherlock Holmes. Rha's is at least as wealthy, has a vast business empire, is well trained in combat, has a keen intellect and tactical mind. The only things that separate him from Batman are his willingness to kill to achieve his goals and of course the Lazarus Pit.

Of course, the DCU animated movies have so far been far better than the Marvel ones, so hopefully this will still be good. I really don't mind the changes, as long as the story is good. We shall see soon enough.
Seems kind of funny that Marvel gets the majority of it's live action movies right, yet still has trouble with some of their animation work and DC does fantastic with the cartoons yet aside from most of the Batman movies and Superman 1 and 2, they just can't get their movies going. Batman Forever, Batman and Robin, Superman 3 4 and Returns, Catwoman were just bad, and Green Lantern seemed to miss the mark also. Their live action FLash TV series was fun to watch though.

Hm now why did they make such a change? What's wrong with using Rha's?

Now that is an interesting question. Does making the ATO's into their superior versions allow you to install another set that you then won't be able to catalyze due to the unique nature of the set?

If so, then I'm thinking this: split a set among 2 powers and upgrade them to superior to augment the S/L bonus, then get another set and split it again amongst two other powers, or the same powers that have the superior versions already installed thus the two powers are now 6 slotted each with 3 standard and 3 superior ATO...

Which now leads to the next question: if this does work is it a bug or WAI ?

That movie wasn't that bad. Yes it had flaws, and yes we had to get used to Indy vs. someone other then Nazi's but given that it was the 50's the "Evil Russians" were the next logical step. As to the aliens, why not? Many legends exist about the creation of temples and pyramids and how aliens allegedly created them or aided in their creation, so why not have Indy meet up with them? He's encountered angry spirits when the Ark was opened, a cult of Kali that was into human sacrifice and the removing of hearts from people, and met with an 800 year old knight that was guardian the grail. So why not aliens? As to him surviving the fridge/nuke, he's survived other improbable things.

If they want to do a 5th Indy movie, perhaps they could have it where the "Evil Russians" in their quest for things to dominate the world with could be seeking the legendary Spear of Longinus. Legends surround that spear and the alleged powers it allegedly has, basically that whoever wields it is allegedly invincible. Something many a would be world conqueror wouldn't mind investigating. OR...if they can successfully CGI de-age Harrison Ford, they could set this movie back in the days when he was facing off against the Nazi's.

As to Ghostbusters 3, aside from nostalgia I'm sure the great Hollywood money machine wants a profitable franchise so we are likely destined to get a GB3......for better or worse.

The last interview I saw with him (back in 2006), he sounded happy doing his country music thing.
It is quite possible that he won't return for a Ghostbusters 3 due to being happy with where his life is. Then again, there is the chance that if he doesn't do a GB3 he will end up regretting it (presuming it does well). Or maybe he'll do it just for grins and giggles.

Quite true. I'm using my set in an effort to get permalightform without needing Hasten. Getting close.

True, sometimes reviving a character can be bad.

However let's consider this: perhaps....just perhaps....Bill Murray of late has been protesting a bit too much about a Ghostbusters 3 and wanting his character killed off right away? Let's face it, all his comments have fueled the rumor machine and now it is to the point that they have stated that with or without Bill Murray they are doing a third movie, which in turn gets the fans talking even more about the pros and cons of Murray not being in a third at all, much less as wisecracking Obi-Wan style ghost.

On January 13, 2010, Ivan Reitman confirmed that he will be directing the film.
In March 2010, Bill Murray appeared on Late Show with David Letterman and talked about his potential return to Ghostbusters III, stating "I'd do it only if my character was killed off in the first reel."
In an interview with Coming Soon, Murray said: "You know, maybe I should just do it. Maybe it'd be fun to do."
In May 2010, Aykroyd said a release is set for Christmas 2012.
Later, in the October 2010 issue of Vanity Fair, Aykroyd gave an update on the status of the Ghostbusters 3 script, written by Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg, writer-producers of The Office: "I’m working on the script now and those two—Stupnitsky and Eisenberg, wrote Bill the comic role of a lifetime, and the new Ghostbusters and the old are all well represented in it...we have a strong first draft that Harold [Ramis] and I will take back, and I’m very excited about working on it." Shortly after that interview, at the Spike TV Scream Awards, Bill Murray appeared on the show to accept an award for Zombieland. He arrived on stage in full Ghostbusters gear, giving no statements regarding the film except, "I'm sorry; I don't mean anything by this, it's just all that was left that was clean."

December 2011 it was reported that Bill Murray had received the script, but according to the National Enquirer, he shredded it to pieces and returned it to Ramis and Akroyd with a note reading: "No-one wants to pay money to see fat, old men chasing ghosts."

So presuming that all the above is accurate, it seems that Bill Murray is on the fence and playing both sides as it were about returning to Ghostbusters. Is it all a big plan to stir up the fans and speculation? Could be.

I said with 125% Global IO recharge that you CAN throw out hasten, I didn't say that I did, nor did I say you should. Hasten still has its uses.

OR.......if Lucas ever decides to do 7 to 9, he could kick it up a few generations and Nathan Fillion could be a DESCENDANT of Han Solo.

True there was the happily ever after ending, which is also why Lando and Falcon escaped the Death Star by a fraction of a second before it exploded. So Han lives, he has Leia and his ship. Happy ending for him indeed.

Also I think Han was kept alive because Lucas was going to reveal the relation of Luke and Leia and there had to be a legit romantic interest somewhere

Phantom Menace was a fun film worthy of the name Star Wars, however I didn't expect a major blockbuster like the classic trilogy either as I knew Lucas wouldn't live up to fan expectations/imaginations that had built up over the years. Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones had their flaws but they were not abominations like Elektra, Catwoman, Blade 3/Trinity, Kevin Costner's Robin Hood, Highlander 2, Highlander 5: the Source (WORSE THEN TWO!), Star Trek Nemesis, Star Trek 5, Plan 9 from Outer Space, Mars Attacks, James Bond movies View to a Kill Living Daylights World is Not Enough, Superman 3, Superman 4, Superman Returns, Batman Forever, Batman and Robin..................

Question is: once Hero 1 is purged of his Rikti infestation will he be able to reclaim the sword?

I can get Hasten to 99% recharge easily, but I would prefer to just sit at 95% using 2 Enh instead of cramming 3 down on it. (or would 2 at +5 still hit 99% or so?) Anyways, even at 99% this puts me short of Perma Hasten, and I am worried that puts me short of true Perma Dom.

Any experts out there able to answer if this works from experience? The only way I can think to work it out is a long string of algebra.
In DBZ there are three levels of the Super Saiyan (Fusions and DBGT don't count). In CoX there are three stages of Permadom.

    1. Permadom 1: 70% recharge from IO and 3 slotted hasten. Expect power crashes.

    2. Ascended Permadom or Permadom 2: 90% global recharge from IO and 3 to 6 slotted hasten is the minimum for this, but you get permadom and permahasten. Expect fewer power crashes.

    3. Super Permadom 3 also at times referred to as "True Permadom": 125% recharge bonus from IO's and you can throw hasten away.

Malcolm Reynolds is basically a darker version of Han Solo <snip>
    Quote:

Malcolm Reynolds is basically a darker version of the original Han Solo from Star Wars IV A New Hope-- the character who shot Greedo dead out of self-preservation, because he always looked out for #1, but then experienced a modicum of character growth by coming back to save Luke and the Alliance.

Not the Han that became more popular than most other characters in the Star Wars Universe and, consequently (because he wasn't killed off....like Mercutio), became comic relief in Return of the Jedi before getting further marginalized by editing possibly his most character-defining moment -- the confrontation with Greedo. People call him a grumpy curmudgeon now, but Harrison Ford was right: Han should have been killed off somewhere in the middle to eliminate him as a distraction from the main characters as well as maintain the dignity of his character. Malcolm Reynods is Han Solo written properly and brought to the forefront.
Can't remember all the legends about the Star Wars films but wasn't it planned at first that Han would be frozen forever or killed by Jabba or something? I suspect the paycheck is what kept Ford involved and Han alive.

Yes the 20+ year time gap is a problem. Then again Murray has been a problem with getting a third movie going for years

Fan expectations will be hideously high, just like they were for Indy 4, Star Wars prequels and the Matrix sequels and of course fans will feel that their childhood was violated and blah blah blah.

I expect GB3 will be a fun movie worthy of the name Ghostbusters but not be a mega blockbuster like GB 1. It couldn't be worse then GB2.....

Regarding Indiana Jones, it is inevitable that if they continue the franchise that Ford will be replaced or killed off. Shia and Ford did sign a two picture deal after all......

Also, I too liked Indy 4. It was a nice nostalgic return to the Indy franchise and while perhaps not a mega blockbuster like Raiders and Crusade (which i didn't expect it would be), it was still a fun addition to the franchise.

I thought, last I heard, that Murray had opted to appear in a few cameos as Venkman's ghost. That it would be his death that is the catalyst for the whole movie...
Also I heard rumors that Oscar would be taking up the mantle, seeing as Oscar would be in his 20's now.

It would be them passing the torch to a new, younger crowd. As it would have to be really, in the hopes of renewing the franchise for a new generation.

    I'm on the fence however.
Many rumors surround Murray and GB 3. Yes it's rumored he will be dead and his ghost may appear, possibly along the lines of Obi Wan's ghost...which could be hilarious if his ghost appeared to give the 'Busters some advice or hints....he could have some serious fun with that.

As to Oscar......among the many rumors were that Sigourney's character liked in GB2, and that Oscar is really Venkmen's son. He could become the leader of a new Ghostbusters team. Also if he is Venkmen's son and the loss of Venkmen disbanded the team, then Oscar may be what gets them to reunite to stop whatever the menace may be, or Oscar organizes a new team and Igon acts as their version of James Bond's "Q" and Ackroyd servers as trainer. Yes, I know that sounds like Extreme Ghostbusters, but if they are passing the torch to a younger team then Extreme Ghostbusters similarities are pretty much inevitable.

When Money talks, people listen. Toss him enough cash and he may well decide to come on board for the movie and take the risk of a bomb. Given that his career is basically over due to his retirement, it's not like he would have much to lose.
