Quote:Unless they've changed the requirement, only the Warwolves count towards this badge. But to confirm this, all you need do is watch your progress bar on the badge as you kill wolves.Any wolf counts towards the badge. So just kill the wolf packs until you get the badge.
And Vampyri are also plentiful in Striga. I believe the area they hang out it is called The Bog, but only come out at night.
Moonfire TF, as mentioned above will pretty much cover both badges if you don't fast track the TF (sneaky ghosty ninja stuff) Kill everything.
Other then that, Striga in the Bog is the best way. Something I do is get a level 50 buddy to do the kills for me. Makes it all so much faster. -
And how much have you donated for Steiner's time?
Not that it really matters, its just that it kinda annoys me the sense of entitlement some people have. Especially when it involves something they get for free, but still costs someone else in, at the very least, time.
Try to keep in mind that the Mids Planner is free, and was made not by the developers of the game, but by players like yourself. No one had to release a tool like this, we are lucky to have ever had it. So you have no call to act like its owed to you.

Quote:And it's correct more then 90% of the time.Along the top of your chat window is the word 'Team'. When you get on a team, that should pop up a team window automatically showing you and your teammates. If it doesn't, clicking on 'Team' will toggle the team window.
Along the side of the team window is an arrow. Clicking the arrow will pop out a status report of your teammates showing their buff icons and what zone they are in. -
Quote:Make sure you have a solid hour of time to recruit your team. It may not take the whole whole hour to recruit, depending on how big you want your team. I find that in about half an hour I can put together a team of 3, sometimes 4 players.Form your own teams. Look for other lone players around your level with the Search function, send tells. Don't rely on broadcast in a game where most of the population is in instances.
Don't be afraid to SK up lower players. If you find someone at your level to join you, you can now SK or Lacky up two other lowbies. This increases your team building potential. It may be useful if you have recall friend to port the lowbies who don't have travel powers, or will likely not survive the sprint to mission doors.
In addition to using the Search Function I also have a macro which broadcasts "Level x-ish team, running regular (NON-AE) missions. Looking for more teammates" As a macro I can easily edit it to repace the x with whatever level our team is running at. -
Quote:If the system is auto loggin you, then the message pops up with a high pitched chirpy bell like sound effect and gives you the option to stop the logout with a push of a button. If you did not get that, then you were probably map served. It's possible I was just mapserved, but I was sitting at the computer when it happened, I just hadn't pressed any buttons for a few minutes. And the message definitely said something about being logged out due to inactivity. Maybe it was a bug, and it just popped up the wrong message?
The game does not auto log you when inside a mission. Or, at least I can say the game does not auto log me when I'm afk inside a mission. -
Quote:Breaking this wall of text up into about 3 paragraphs would really make it easier on the eyes. Not sniping at you, just a friendly note.((QR))Defenders are by far my favorite archetype to play, both solo and on teams. Different primaries and secondaries bring a lot of different options in to play around with. For example, a Rad/Rad will play differently than a Rad/Psy will.My all-time favorite is one of the last ones I made, a Cold/Sonic Defender. I designed the character to be a force-multiplier in groups, yet still soloable. Turns out she was just what I wanted for 90% of my game-time. From level 1 she was able to solo enemies. Not 10 at a time, maybe, but 4-5 with very little problem. The thing about Defenders, and this is true to varying degrees for all characters and archetypes, is that enhancements make a huge difference in playstyle. For example, levels 1-11 you have access to training origin enhancements. You probably load up on accuracy and damage, maybe a couple recharge, but the enhancements don't do a whole heck of a lot. Then when you hit 12 you start getting into the dual-origin enhancements which are twice as effective as the training origin enhancements. This lets you change things up a bit. For instance, take my Kinetics defender. From level 1-11 I had slotted Transfusion (an enemy-targeted PBAE heal) with 5 accuracy. When I hit 12 I was able to slot Transfusion with 2 Accuracy DOs, 1 Recharge DO, and 2 Healing DOs. I was slightly less accurate but I healed for a lot more and it came back faster to boot. Once you get to single-origin enhancements it changes yet again, since they are twice as effective as DOs. Then, when you get into Set Enhancements, it changes yet again.... and each time, your Defender gains some better effectiveness. I don't remember for certain, but I think my Empathy Defender ended up slotting her two targeted heals with 2 range IOs and 4 of a set... I don't remember the set, however. Anyway, play what you want to play. I'll stop rambling.

Quote:It's easy to tell if yer leadership pool is buffing yer pets. On the pet window, look at their buff bar, you'll see the buffs there. There was a post a little while back by a red name stating that some pet buffs do not work or at least do not get checked for during combat.
I'm curious as to the current state of pet buffs. Which ones actually affect your pets? What about the bonuses in the slotted pet power? Does anyone have the definitive answers to this?
I have 2 MMs and a few controllers with several leadership powers, which I took mainly to buff my pets. If they're having no effect I might as well respec out of them.
I have 4 MMs, and 2 Controllers, and I can tell you that yes, Leader Ship Pool Powers do indeed buff MM and Troller pets. -
Quote:Well, I've been playing this game for 5 years and can count the number of 'RP' players I've encountered on one hand. I imagine going to church, one would need many, many more hands to count the number of religious people you find there. You know, I never cease to be amazed at people who get pissed off at RPers buying an MMORPG. I mean, with all due respect, what did you expect? I'm not saying that you have to RP, or that you should expect nothing but RP, but really, isn't this like going to church and then complaining the religious people piss you off? I'm not offended, but I admit that I am a little puzzled.
Although the developers of this game threw in the 'RP' tag to as one of the describing factors of the game, it didn't necessarily mean that the game is actually 'RP'. Just like putting the 'Teen' rating on the box doesn't prevent 6 year olds from playing the game. Its more of a suggestion, then a fact.
I really have no complaint about most 'RP' players. Except when the 'RP' is taken to such extremes that it works detrimentally to communication, fostering frustration. -
Quote:Not long ago, the Dev's decided to give new lowbies a break, so they introduced something called "Beginner's Luck" What that does is improves your overall tohit (let's just call it accuracy) for the first 20 levels. Beginners Luck works very nicely. So nicely that vet powers like Sands of Mu, Blackwand, etc. hit often enough to be very useful during those first 20 levels.Just got my first 50 villain. Unlocked the epic and made a soldier.
It didn't offer me the option of entering the tutorial.
Why is that?
I prefer to do it for the two inspirations it gives...selling them is how I get my beginning enhancements.
Becuase of this, I don't bother buying enhancements for the first eleven levels. At level 12 I buy DOs. I found that I can hit my targets enough and do enough damage that I can easily get through those 11 levels with empty slots. Trainer enhancements offer somewhere around an 8% boost, which is rather crappy, and unnoticeable. When I slot up Trainer enhancements I can't notice any real differance from empty slots.
My point is, you need not be concerned about selling those big inspirations to make inf. You can make decent inf selling drops to contacts, stores, and the market to buy all yer DOs at level 12. I'd go to the market and take note of what the salvage you have sells for, then take that same salvage to a contact or store and see what they will give you for it. Sometimes you get more from a contact or store then you would the market. Sometimes, the market will get you more. -
Quote:You are most welcome. I hope it all works awesome for you.OMG! I made the mistake of clicking on that link... that's a heck of a lot of info. Well, time to stop yackin and take a shot at it. I'll probably start with just the info in your post. Thanks Neo!!!
Don't worry about all the info in Sandophine's guide. You only need concern yerself with the bots section, and the one tiny "All Pets" section.
Oh, I forgot to mention... there are two methods in Sandophans guide. I pointed out the Numeric Keypad method because its so much easier to copy and paste the commands into your chat window. If you use the Keypad method, then don't concern yerself with the section that covers the Text file system. Its alot more work to use the Text file method, although its a very cool system. That's the section that starts after INDIVIDUAL BY NAME (note: change MinionA, MinionB, MinionC, LieutenantA, LieutenantB to your names):
Its easy to get the hang of using the numeric keypad system, and once you do, you'll probably remove the 3 default command buttons from yer tray to make room.
Enjoy! -
Quote:With thanks to SANDOLPHAN for her excellent work, check here http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...ght=sandolphanI play a Robots/Force Field MM and I'm having a very tough time keeping my robots within my Dispersion Shield's radius. I use the goto command a lot, and even the Stay command, but they still tend to take off after the enemy.
Typically I have them set to aggressive. If I don't then they tend not to attack as much. Still, I'd think the stay command would keep them from taking off. I literally have to keep tapping it.
And is there a way from stopping the robots from spontaneously running off to melee people?
Any ideas?
Just copy and then paste into the chat window the binds you need for the appropriate pets. Remeber to hit <Enter> after each paste.
In your case, copy and paste the "ALL PETS:" bind, then go to the "ROBOT (MINION, LIEUTENANT, BOSS):" section. It has 3 parts. Copy and paste each part separately into your chat window. This will give you extraordinary control.
The '0' key on yer numeric keypad will set all yer bots on notice.. meaning the next command you use will go to all bots.
Then you use yer Numeric Keypad to issue all your commands.
The '1' key will set only your Battle bots to receive the next command.
The '2' key will set only your Protector bots to receive the next command.
The '3' key will set only your Assault bot to receive the next command.
The '4' key will set your bots on 'Aggressive'. So they will attack anything in aggressive range.
The '5' key will set yer bots on 'Defensive' otherwise known as 'Bodyguard' mode.
The '6' key will set yer bots on 'Passive' mode. So they wont attack anything.
'7' tells yer bots to attack the target you are targeting. (If you are targeting through a teammate otherwise known as an assist, yer bots will attack nothing. You have to have acquired the target yerself)
'8' tells yer bots to follow you.
'9' is the goto command. It activates the 'goto' targeting reticule.
So, lets say you want all yer bots to switch to 'Bodyguard mode'. That's '0' then '5' (you hit these keys sequentially, not at the same time)
Once you've selected which bots you want to something, any all future command will always go only to those bots until you select different bots. In other words, once you've hit '0', all commands from the numeric keypad will got to all bots.
So, to attack my target, hit 0, then 7
All bots follow me, 8
All bots passive, 6
Protector Bots Defensive, Battle Botts Aggressive, 2, 5, 3, 6
But you almost will never issue commands to just one tier of bots. You'll almost never use any keys except for
0 all bots
4 aggressive
5 defensive
6 passive
7 attack my target
8 follow me
9 goto
Might sound complicated, but try it. You'll find it much easier to keep yer bots near you. (There will always be one bot who's got a screw loose somewhere and runs suicidally into the fray, but the others will stick by yor side rather well)
Hope I didn't put you off by over explaining, or making the post too big. -
Quote:Just a quick note, apparently, there is a 10 item limit that you can monitorOpen your Powers window (above your tray) then click on Combat Attributes. Go through the list and right click on the items you want to see and select "Monitor..."
I generally Monitor XP to level (on non-50s), Inf, and last chance toHit, on all characters. Certain others I monitor Defense values, Endurance consumption and Recovery, Regeneration values, Mezz Protection, or Damage Bonus depending on individual needs. -
I'm a little curious. Forgive me, I'm not a console afficionado. If CoX were to be ported to a console, how would that console handle patches?

Bug Description: I get logged out randomly. I use tabs, with each new thread I read I open a new tab. Most times this works fine. Some tabs seemingly open up logged out, then all my tabs are logged out. This all happens intermittently, and I have not yet figured out what triggers it. -

According to the Server Status page, the servers were available during the whole server rollback tonight.

Quote:I removed the text I had in my Sig to fit the Image.Took me some time to figure out what you folks meant. You mean, paste the entire tag into the text box where I type the text portion of my sig. Got it.
Now I just have to find a hosting site that doesn't make the [img]tag so long that it exceeds our new forums number of lines for a signature. Cuz that's the squawk I got when I tried that.
So there it is. Looks absolutely rank amateur, but its my fist attempt, and not knowing much about GIMP had to stumble through it.
I'll work on making a cooler one.
Thanks again! -

Can someone please post the steps to get a picture from PhotoBucket into the Signature?
I've tried the same method I used for my Avatar but that fails.
If it matters, the image properties are:

Just some thoughts...
First, if you just started playing the game today, but paid for a one year subscription, your not a one year Vet. Yer not even a vet at all. So I recon yer not a 60+ paid time vet if you have 59 months under yer belt with one month of prepaid time to go.
Second, Unless I missed something that others have read regarding the GR beta release, I can't find anything that says the 60+ month qualifier has to based on US subscribers. So, its entirely possible that the EU subscribers are included for the GR beta because when they hit 60+ months, our US subscribers will definitely be 60+ months.
If I missed something that confirms the 60+ months must be based on US subscribers, please link it for me. -

Well, thank you for your reply Tex.
Guess I'll go use up too much file space creating my own high level Outcasts.
