    go elec/energy its strong

same goes for elec/elec.. both are some of the strongest builds in the game.. it basically depends on HOW you want to PvP.

I got an elec/elec I'm making for PvP, and you'll be mainly focussing on end drains + heavy (melee) damage with elec/elec. I found that the end drain on elec blasts aint too bad, but the melee moves can take up quite a chunk of blue, especially when you cant down enemies very fast yet and you have to keep cycling them. Till 20 it can be a pain before you get stamina, after 35 however once you get powersink, it's possible to spec out of stamina, but thats a matter of taste.

With both elec/nrg and elec/elec, be prepared to blap alot, as you can deal massive damage with those 2 secondary sets. Both sets got some great synergy really, and I think it boils down to a matter of taste. Energy for instance gets powerboost, which can be a godsend in PvP, then again a nice powersink + short circuit is enough to take down a good chunk of your opponent's end. Not to mention getting another hold in shocking grasp which you can use to stack holds to overcome mez protection.

Disadvantage with both builds though is that they are pretty tight and you will have to make some crucial decisions what powers to pick/drop. As you want quite a few powers from elec primary (lightning bolt, short circuit, aim, tesla cage as bare minimum imo) and almost all from your secondary. Add to that you prolly want SS for hasten, SJ for acro and maybe toss in aid self for pvp, you're looking at a very tight build.

So conclusively I'd say you're looking at 2 very strong builds and it kinda depends on your playstyle which one you'd like more. Personally I like elec/elec better over elec/nrg, but if you are comfortable with your elec/nrg right now, then by all means go for it.
  2. not to mention the slows stacking...
  3. because it has a pretty long animation time and the normal nrg attacks got a large portion of stun in it as well. Pretty common for energy punch or bonesmasher to stun your enemy. Also being a bit blappery, you'd achieve more with being fast and mobile than undetected.

And yes, all taunts need a ToHit Check but Taunt (the actual power) has a very high accuracy in PvP anyway.

    [/ QUOTE ]

yeah i know, but I suspect you also want to do some PvE at times as well, if only to lvl up

Pv... E... I'm sure I remember doing that once or twice...

I know.. its scary... I remember seeing other people do it..

  6. The presence pool CAN be handy on a scrapper, I got a friend who's DM/Regen and got the presence pool for the fear power. The advantage is that the fear from presence is ranged compared to the melee Touch of Fear from DM. Disadvantage is that the taunt needs a tohit check (iirc). However the big advantage of Touch of Fear vs presence fear is that ToF brings a very heavy acc debuff with it, and it cycles pretty fast to stack it on someone, crippling their acc. IIRC it has a 20% acc debuff.

Also with SR vs Regen, while a buffed up blaster can rip through your defenses, SR has more advantages than just the slow res in PvP. For instance the +perc from Focused Senses, the hold res being a clicky rather than a toggle, and it can be stacked. The passives adding up to a max 60% res when low on health (even though it wont save your life once a heavy dmg toon like a blaster decides to deal the coup-de-grace).

Personally I think /regen and /sr are pretty evenly matched, and when I roll a PvP scrapper I keep wondering which secondary to pick. As for the comment "Regen i wouldnt dream of attacking", I guess it all boils down to what kind of blaster you are. For instance I think my elec/elec who's a sapping build has an easier time with regens than with SR. Also kin defenders who are meant to take down scrappers (i'm looking at you kin/psi and kin/elec!) will have an easier time with regens than with SR.

In the end it all comes down to playstyle, build and your opponent.
  7. MA/SR is a pretty nice combo for PvP, fought with it and against it.. like filth said, take aid self, 6slot it, love it. Tactics is ok, but quite endheavy and being SR you will already be runnin through your blue stuff fast. If you do pick tactics, i suggest you take maneuvers as first leadership power to stack with your other def powers. Also if you intend on high lvl PvP, you could always take focussed accuracy instead of tactics, very endheavy as well, but a nice +perc . Also not sure bout this, but i recall focussed acc boosting your tohit more than tactics.

Bout other powersets, you might also look at DM/SR (which I use for PvP), the -acc combined with +def is great, and of course you get touch of fear, and fear is very little resisted in PvP. Of course nothing a breakfree wont fix
  8. meh, eclipse > light form anyway

tbh I sincerely doubt marvel can copyright zodiac signs unless of course you make heroes/villains that look the same as the ones marvel made.

if you got a definate date for sewer trial i'd be up on joining it with my earth/storm troller (lvl 37 atm)
  15. sorry to say guys, but i prolly wont be makin it as well, due to some RL issues I wont go too deep into, i got my sis comin that friday so unless things change for the better, I wont be attending. Best of luck to those that will attend in my absence though!
  16. My usual reply when someone calls me a noob because i beat em in PvP is "so.. you just got beaten by a noob... how does that make YOU feel?" normally shuts em up just fine
  17. well raz... you know what I need.. just a problem you cant supply it..

*heads back to gossip channel to feed his urges*
  18. hey lost, any chance of an ETA of team/branch leaders for the raid?
  19. Nefarious_EU

    SS TF 2

aye, great fun... on to the next
  20. actually.. the whole setup is pretty unique in the game, unless its bugged beyond belief.

Havent done it in a while, but afaik it doesnt show the TF logo in the topright corner when you do it. Add to that that you can invite new people to the team while you are doing it which you cant during any normal TF/trial. Also when you start it, its added as a normal mission in your list rather than the only team task available. List goes on.. thats why i dont really classify it as TF

    Phil FTW!

just wanted to say happy cake day to my man phil out there.. have a good one bud!

  23. ZOMG! grats hun... so who's gonna be the next 50 pillowhumper?
  24. tbh, one kin with SB should be more than plenty for the PA bombers, kinda presume one of the PAers has kin so I'd suggest the blaster over the kin, but thats up to you of course lost just thought I'd give my input with PA experience.

Oh, and on a sidenote.. woooo noir! I'll hopefully keep you spotted up in the air again
