It can be interpreted however you like, but the mere fact that those four words are there at all speaks volumes.
Read it again, but without the "on the same server."; you find that it still makes sense. There is no reason to include that part of the sentence, unless to imply that this too is in flux.
I should point out that this is NOT a confirmation, nor is it guaranteed. Paragon Studios learned a long time ago the wisdom in withholding announcements until features are concrete, just as they learned to avoid saying "we would like to do X". What we have here is even more insignificant than either of the above.
The conclusion? This is something that Paragon are open to. It may be in development, it may be in research, it may be turn out to be unfeasible. But make no mistake, it was not placed there by accident.
As a side note, over-analysis of this sort is the very reason Paragon are cagey about what they say. -
Quote:Don't get me wrong, I like the art. It gives the sense that you're on a military ship. It just isn't that impressive from a technical standpoint. Maybe because 3D visualization is my schtick. And I do like I20 a bunch.I sure am glad I am not this bitter and unhappy. It must really suck.
On a lighter note, thanks Paragon for giving us glimpses into the process! The last time I tried to make any 3d models like this, the tools I was using were antiques and it took forever.
But it still needed AA and AF. -
As unimpressed by the art as I am, I'm even less impressed by how the screenshot was taken without antialiasing or anistropic filtering.

Try the HP dm1z. A netbook, but not as you know it.
AMD's netbook chip blasts any Atom out of the water. It's faster, more efficient, has a beefy GPU, and can run 1080p video without breaking a sweat. The CPU is twice as fast as an Atom, moreso in some tasks, while the GPU puts the Ion to shame. It completely thrashes that GMA 3150 in most netbooks. All while having better battery life and being just as cheap.
This AMD chip delivers upon the promise of the netbook; it is the answer to the question posed by Atom. There is no possible reason to buy an Atom over an AMD Fusion netbook.
The HP dm1z happens to be one of the best Fusion netbooks out there, with good base hardware and a neat price. -

As anyone with any computer-using relatives will attest, upgrading everyone's Internet Explorer to be more secure and robust is a good thing. It will save us countless man-hours in troubleshooting.

Some people use the same account name for their EU and US accounts. There'll be some procedure for this, I imagine.
-
HOLY
AAAAAAAAAAAA
This is... wow, that... EU and US hand in hand? Oh, my. Oh, my.

I'd have SO been there if I didn't have university work to get done.

Like a whole lot of bind-on-pickup loot with some story / lore flavour. You play endgame content to get it. The tougher the content, the rarer the loot.
You can earn it by playing standard missions at a slower pace.
The gear produced from the loot boosts your core attributes, making you better at whatever it is you do. Forthcoming gear grants you new abilities and powers.
The far reaching goal of Incarnate loot is to make you into a demi-god, on par with or superior to the headline characters of the game. -
Good to get an official word on that. Mayhaps I should mention that I'm running a Core i7 920 clocked at 4GHz.

Quote:Wow, that... really? I thought the 560 Ti was equivalent to a Radeon 5850, that lets me run everything at maximum, 8xAA, 1680x1050. Except for Ambient Occlusion, anyway. I have to settle for High Quality in that. That's only if you disable the Ultra Details. I run these settings, and while Heroside rarely dips below 60FPS, Villainside and Praetoria will dip into the low 20s.

We managed an MoATF with a very poorly composed team. Three scrappers (one of which had no alpha slot), three tanks, one controller, and one mastermind (whose internet was such that his uptime was all of five minutes). We still showed Battle Maiden what for. Honestly, that fight was nowhere near as terrifying as I had imagined. And I was quite happily going toe to toe with several War Works.

The 560 should be able to murderlate CoH. You can also expect silky smooth performance at 200% world detail.
If you want to eliminate object popup, you can experiment with the "/visscale 4" command. This sets you to 400% world detail. But be wary, there is a reason this setting is not available in the menu. It hurts. -
Quote:Windows XP's user/administrator system was never supported by software developers. Only today are we seeing a world of software written with Vista and 7's security model in mind, and that's only because Microsoft forced developers at gunpoint (with UAC). I wouldn't hold out hope of the launcher getting support for Windows XP user accounts.Does the launcher always need to be run as an Administrator? I installed the launcher under my Administrator account on my PC (Windows XP) but I normally play CoH on my User account. When I run the launcher as a User, I get warning messages about not having access to files in the CoH directory. I can click OK to get past the warnings and play the game, but its annoying to do so when running the old launcher is more convenient.

Ah, superb. This post will save people a lot of hassle.
The option to create a direct shortcut is neat, you couldn't do that previously without fiddling with shortcut targets. This new launcher does what we need better than the old one.
It should also be noted that this launcher has been written with Vista's and 7's UAC in mind, taking ownership of the directories in question so you don't get the annoying pop-up, even when you need to patch. Me rikey. -
Quote:You yanks can do that. We euro-mans have to call it CoHUpdater.eu.exe, or it launches in US mode. Some people have worked around that simply by renaming it: CoHStarter.exe or something instead.
Not that it will matter for long, but I get around it by launching cityofheroes.exe with the -project EUCoH switch. -
Quote:Sadly, you still get the UAC prompt just because it has 'updater' in the name.Or you can just install CoX outside of "program files" to avoid it.
An odd quirk is how the NCSoft Launcher will still ask to take full ownership of the CoH directory if you have installed it outside of Program Files, or even on another hard drive. -
The City of Heroes launcher is named CoHUpdater.exe. Windows Vista and Windows 7 look at the name and think "ah, this wants to update something; it should run as an administrator!", thinking itself rather clever. This is what causes the dialog box.
There are ways to get around this, ways to run CoH directly as a non-administrator, but Issue 20 will fix it. They're converting CoH to use the NCSoft Launcher, a more modern program which doesn't ask for admin rights when they aren't needed.
If you happen to have installed CoH within your Program Files folder, the NCSoft Launcher will give you the option to take full ownership of the CoH directory, ensuring that admin rights are not required at all. It will see the end of all UAC popups. -

Quote:Interesting point. Super sidekicking does blur what is endgame and what isn't, especially with some Weekly Strike Targets being lower level.Technically now that you can earn shards from ANY content come issue 20, once you hit 50 and unlock the incarnate path, just about everything can be listed as part of the endgame.
However, prior to that, MUCH of that list can be done prior to and without being 50.
Just keeping it in persepctive.
Another point: CoH's traditional 'endgame' is altitis and/or flashback. These will still be viable things to do at 50. -
I'm really jazzed about the cross-server League hint.
Let me do a tally of top-end level 50 content.
- Apex Task Force
- Tin Mage Mark II Task Force
- Barracuda Strike Force
- Dr. Kahn Task Force
- Imperious Task Force
- The Lady Grey Task Force
- Lord Recluse Strike Force
- Statesman's Task Force
- Mender Silos Task Force
- Mender Silos Strike Force
- Hamidon
- Mothership Raid
- Cathedral of Pain
- Behavioral Adjustment Facility
- Lambda Sector

Quote:Neat.
When enough characters for an Incarnate Trial are queued, the characters are teleported to the instance and automatically formed into a League. (This feature is currently only available for Incarnate Trials on the same server.)
...Wait, what?
Quote:(This feature is currently only available for Incarnate Trials on the same server.)
Does that imply... If that's only 'currently', then in the future can we... have cross server instances? Am I reading that right? -
Try disabling antialiasing in your graphics drivers. For ATi, look for the Catalyst Control Center; for nVidia, look for the nVidia control panel.
