Quote:Um.Yes there is, but the people who already have thier slots unlocked are not interested in running it that way for the newcomers.
I run a trial regardless of whether the people I'm running with are new to it or not.
I spent 30 minutes of the BAF both fighting and explaining to a returning vet ho to run the trials, what the new components were for and even suggesting how to fit the new judgements and lores to her character's personal theme.
What you have stated is not a fact, nor is it even a moderately sustainable opinion as it has absolutely no foundation. -
I'd actually expect Praetor Tilman's theme to be the Snake River Conspiracy cover of Love Song. Link here, ignore the video.
Marauder (lyrics possibly NSFW)
Emperor Cole. -
Good recap, Sardan. I myself love the trials, grind or no grind.

I love these threads.
From here on I'm labeling them as Defeatist Forumite Propaganda. -
Kicked everyone. For me, it was in the middle of a BAF with both AV's at 30%.
Really, really disheartening and discouraging. -
-
EDIT: Jesus, that sounds creepy now that I've thought about it.

Quote:I did. I even backed up, formatted my disk, and before restoring my mac with Time Machine I downloaded the client and started 1000% new. That's right, you're the one with the same Macbook Pro as me but with a lot more problems. Sorry I forgot about you! Did I ask you to try creating a new user Mac side and running CoH from there?
Same issues. Crashing every 10 minutes at the very least. -
So, I've been sitting back and thinking that the best way to Lore out Nalrok was to go seers. Floating psychic ladies who heal and buff him; cool right?
Recently, it dawned on me that Nalrok's closest ally is Kybernetis Einheit (Bot/FF MM), a quarter-human cyborg whom he keeps alive with a soul contract. I've recently been in awe of the WarWorks NPCs. My favorite thing to watch is the BCU/9CU "full auto"-- PWOOM PWOOM PWOOM PWOOM PWOOM!
Now, if Nalrok shares a soul contract with a human who is mostly machine and can construct/convert his own robots and war machines, is it out of his reach to slot in a Warworks Lore pet? The only problem is, it looks like both trees top out with Victoria's... I don't want a Victoria.
That said, were you in my position, where would you take Lore?
Advice is appreciated. -
Quote:Dude, maybe you could help me. I'm gonna post a thread over in Virtue and ask the players there for some RP advice on Lore. Mind popping by in, oh... 5 minutes?Yeah my plan for explaining the new powers on my AR/Dev is along those lines:
Pyronic Judgement: Incendiary Grenades
Reactive Interface: Incendiary Bullets
Rebirth Destiny: Nanite Healing Swarm
The Lore is a little trickier, I eventually decided it's going to be some Praetorian Resistance Allies teleporting in to help him. I haven't made up my mind if it's going to be the Praetorian version of him (who would be a renegade IDF Commander) or some Seers that he rescued.
However for the Caridac Alpha the lore is that he figured out a way to tap into the power of the well and use it as a supplementary power source for his armor. -
As Psy said, Destiny does not resurrect. Barrier does. Barrier is incredible. Don't worry about obsoletion; it's just something to stress you out. Play the game and enjoy.
EDIT: Your Judgement isn't affected by buffs. I've seen a Blaster fire off Inferno for well over 1.3k damage with Build Up and AIM; no other AT can do that. -
Quote:My Death Shroud now applies -Regen and -ToHit. These effects, IMO, are the best for explaining Nalrok's "soul sapping" when he fights.Likewise, Reactive is pretty damn obvious. It's like a bright effing golden fireball around the target's torso.
Side note: It procs off of individual hits, not power activation, which means every single tick of my Freezing Rain has a chance to apply it. I freaking love this thing. -
Few more nifty things I saw, if they'll help you Sam.
Void colored blue/light blue and passed off as a personal force field explosion. Character was natural with tech elements.
Void colored bright freaking purple and explained as a psychic detonation.
Pyronic colored murk/bright green and explained as an acid bomb (this was the coolest, especially considering Pyronic leaves those scorch marks on the ground).
Ion colored solid black and explained as a biomechanical nanite swarm that spreads through enemies and eats away at their bodies.
Pyronic colored solid white and explained as "the most powerful flashbang grenade in existence." -
I've seen a few people pass off Void as "concentrated anger", a few spine/thorn users pass off Cryonic as more spikes, and I've even seen a few Arachnos Soldiers/AR Blasters pass off Pyronic as a high-output incendiary grenade.

Quote:Because that "guy who doesn't need support" is shipping three-story war machines to our planet en masse in hopes of killing everything that has super powers because we pissed him off when we opened Portal Corps. The killer rabbit in Monty Python and the Holy Grail was a serious threat too. Why is the cute little bunny one-shotting fully armored knights? Who cares, it's funny. Why is a minor plot to get pacified sheeple to support a guy who doesn't need their support so vital that we have to send our most powerful heroes and villains to stop it? It ain't funny, so it needs a reason.

Quote:Do me a favor and go solo the BAF.Yes. Heaven forbid people enjoy thinking for themselves rather than allowing someone else to solve all the puzzles for them. The insanity.
Do me a bigger favor and close all 10 portals in Lambda with a full League of people who've never done it and haven't read up on it or asked anyone about it. See where that gets you.
Apparently, a little knowledge never hurt anyone but you. -
Quote:There are still people who are literally saying that. My favorite is the anti-strategy crowd. Have a look:I encourage you to read this as 'this type of content does not align well with my personal preferences, and am offering my feedback' rather than 'this content is bad and the devs and people who enjoy it should feel bad.'
Quote:Also: if you have to read outside sources to find out how to succeed an encounter, then it's a badly designed game. Period. I'm really getting tired of people saying that we just need to read the guides. Everything every player should need to know should be right there in the game.Quote:My argument is specifically against the idea that it should be required to use out of game materials. Or that the answer to any complaint about an encounter is "Just read the guide". Either by the game or by the community...
...If I can't get something done simply because the game has put in an artificial limitation and not informed me in any way, that's irritating. That's bad encounter design. And having a guide that spells out what the game should have instructed doesn't make a bad design suddenly good. -
I don't believe so. ATI is Radeon, yes? I'm on a previous-gen Macbook Pro Core i7. nVidia 300M card. All I get is assertion failures, crashes to desktop, and millions of pageouts on my RAM.

Quote:... an announcement about this would have been nice. So, today, while the servers were down, Zwillinger was kind enough to open a UStream broadcast and entertain us. Even better, there were cameo appearances by Dr. Aeon and War Witch. Codes were given out, Lore questions were answered, and a bit of fun was had by all. Personally, I'm a fan of this, and I hope that you do this more often Z. Anyone else feel the same?

Quote:I'd appreciate less snark. Thanks.Runs of what exactly? Oh, you mean the trials? How does this help people who don't like the trials?
First question, as I'm not sure if you've answered this or not: Have you RUN the trials? I'm finding a lot of people who complain about them, and haven't done them yet.
If you have, then I can't offer you any advice or any help that differs from the posts already given to you. -
